Is It Possible To Bind Key Combos For Actions? (Shift+G for example)

When I try to bind keys in the controls UI, I've tried doing something like SHIFT+G or ALT+M but it doesn't work. It will only take the SHIFT or the ALT and not something else with it. I'd like to use those as "modifiers" I guess is the term. Is there not any way to do that? Seems like it would make it MUCH easier to get everything bound. :D

    It would certainly be cool to do this, but is it high-priority? I run 48 addons and even I haven't run out of keyboard keys yet.
    I am using F8 thru F12, I am using the digit 0, I am using NUM1 through NUM8, I am using both [ and ], I am using END and HOME.
    Most of these are for addons with only four being remaps related to dodge, crouch, walk and bash.

    i have a function key to call up an emote addon and HOME is reloadui via a addon.

    My best guess is that I have 16 more keys that I could dedicate to my addons, but the best addons put easy to use buttons on the UI in the windows associated with their functions and hotkeying those addons isnt really necessary (examples: Shopkeeper can have a hotkey bound to it, but a button for Shopkeeper shows up in the Guild Store and Mail windows. MailR has four functions that can be hotkeyed but buttons for them are right there in the Mail window)

    In WoW, I was very dependent on ALT, CTRL and ALT-CTRL maps. My rotation was super-super-sloppy and I was very *** about mapping the powers of each of my toons in a role specific way (example the taunt for each tank toon had to be bound to the same keystroke and no dps toon could have a power bound to that keystroke)

    But in this game combat is much more simple and I don't feel like I am running out of keys.

    I certainly don't want them mucking with something as important and the keyboard. Akatosh only knows what bugs would creep in and I certainly don't want to lose three days of playing waiting for the hotfix.

    I'm not running out of keys. I would just prefer to bind more stuff closer to my movement hand I guess. I'd prefer not having to move my hand all over the keyboard to find bound keys. Also, I was simply curious as to why it wasn't in the game. It's such a basic feature that exists in most other games that I've played. I mostly thought that surely it was in the game, but perhaps I didn't know how to do it.

    I hear you on the efficiency of hand thing.

    Based on separating actions between the two hands, I think it can be done but it would require a total remap and the use of an out-of-date addon called Binder. I have a total remap of movement, attack, dodge, interrupt and block and it requires Binder because each update will erase my keybinds.

    As to why it isn't in the game: the game was envisioned to be usable by either keyboard or gamepad. Whether the vision or the implementation of the vision were good ideas is quite debatable. Nonetheless, any planning of inputs would likely assume that what is a good for the console is also good for the keyboard but not vice versa.

    Regarding updates erasing keybindings, they supposedly fixed that with the 1.4.5 patch. It says: Your user settings will no longer be reset to default after a new patch is released. I wonder if that is truly the case. I know that today's patch did not reset my current keybindings. I do use Binder though, but because it allowed me to easily duplicate my keybindings to my alts, which is something else that should have been in the game from the beginning. I appreciate your comments. :)

    I simply cannot believe that this game is in such a state of archaic depravity with regard to keyboard bindings. How in the nine hells does this game not support simple SHIFT+(choose a key) or ALT+(choose a key), etc.? Maybe I'm an idiot and am doing something wrong?

    I don't believe the addon existed when I posted this back in October 2014. Hypnoticbobnub18_ESO just happened to bump/necro the year-old thread. Regardless, I'm glad to see that there is an addon now that makes it possible. I may try to come back to ESO myself before long. I tried about a week ago, but I got disconnected 4 times in about 2 hours and gave up on it. I may still give it another go. If I keep getting disconnected from the server though, I'll write ESO off for good.
