Never assume anything about anyone's real gender.

I know quite a few women in ESO. They usually don't really play male characters for whatever reason. The other way around definitely doesn't hold up... plenty of guys who play female characters. Not that I have any right to complain about that. :D

It gets really confusing when you refer to them in third person while talking to other people and you're not sure if you should just say "she" because of the character or "he" because he's actually a guy IRL :(

I live in the UK at the moment, and moved here from Australia. Sadly I couldn't appreciate this country as much as you do.. though I wish I could.

I love rain what can I say ☔️

Just live in Southern Australia; where I live it's raining 90% of the year anyway but without all the snow you people seem to get up there

Yeah I suppose you're right, dude ;) I must say on the other hand I don't think I've ever called anyone mate though.
My ex gf in Australia used to call me mate all the time. I could never get used to it xD
She used to wear flannel shirts and talk like a dude (not her voice, just the mannerisms). Made me feel like the girl in the relationship.

This is actually me right now; she's pretty butch and I'm already quite feminine. But amongst Aussie nerds it seems to be a thing.

So did she say "I'm a man." or "I'm transgendered/transsexual." There is a difference.

Born with a dingy hanging in between... There is no difference, but this is no place for that argument.

To each his/her own. Enjoy the game. Hate the player, not the game ;)

I met some rl-ladies in mmo's. I must say, most of them were simply out of reach. I am not the surfer boy-travelling guy, so I never visited any of them. Just find a way to check out a chars "voice". Normally, if you are experienced, you would even be able to spot them just "the way they write".

    - an Israeli group of scientists developed a text-analytical computer program, which was able to determine if a text was written by a male or female.. Ladies use more personal pronouns when writing; men use more passive clause constructions (it is clear, that... blabla, it has been proven..)

    - another study found out that ladies who play lots of wow are more intriguing than normal ladies, so beware :)

    - my personal studies found out that many mmo-ladies are very attractive (the type that doesn't go out of house alone in not so well off neighborhoods, or who live in rural areas, no joke). So, if you're looking for a GF, you might be surprised..

Finally: the TE and many other men, who think that most 'female chars' have to or are likely to be rl-women, are really st__id =) plain and simply stu__d, oh so stu_id, la lala

When I was playing Aion someone in the guild kept flirting with the wife of one of the guildies. The married couple decided to meet in real life with the guildie. Then the wife started cheating with the guildie and they got a divorce. Then the cheaters broke up shortly after. It kind of soured the whole game for me after I heard what happened. Games are pretty risky when it comes to relationships.

Best place to meet someone is in real life at locations where you share common interests or circumstance.

    Holy crap, that's terrible man.

On the forums in my last MMO, some guy made a post "How this game ruined my life", and it was somewhat similar. His girlfriend was basically becoming more and more distant and secretive while playing this game. One day he caught her saying some pretty intimate things to some guy inside the game.
As it turns out, they got together in the end, and the guy she met online MOVED IN WITH THEM because the other guy had no where else to go. He said he died a little more inside every time he could "hear them".

It takes a special kind of monster inside to do that to someone, and yet eventually when she grows old and dies someone will inevitably call her a "good woman" at her funeral.

This is quite possibly one of the worst things I've heard in a while, like something from a nightmare :S
I'd rather move back home with my parents in that situation and just send all my time sobbing in private...

As an alternative way to stop the cheating, you could have a girlfriend who is one of those people who hates everyone, but hates you a bit less :p

I a woman and only play male characters. :)

People call me dude, pal, mate, etc and I don't bother correcting them. If they find out later, or I mention it, then what gender I am isn't that important. Then again, I'm happily married for going on 30 years and don't flirt with people on the internet! ;)

    Chapter 1: Don't trust anyone

I'll admit, I dated this girl I met on ESO. Well, I wouldn't say "dated". We were close, to be sure, but nothing ever officially announced. I knew this person for a long time, and they never asked anything of me, just my company. I thought that was sweet.
Now I'm not a RPer by any means, but to make her happy we'd go to various taverns, have a drink, sit by the fire and just enjoy each other to the fullest. It was nice, because it made me glad to be able to bring her happiness, even if it meant doing something I felt awkward taking part in. Though I neglected to mention to her it made me feel awkward!
We exchanged a lot of personal details, stories, life changing events. She knows more about me than any one on these forums would, and I've shared a fair bit as you know. Heh.
It came to a point where she wanted to go further than friendship and felt the need to lay some truths out on the table. I will list them in no particular order.

    1. She had a small scar on her arm (Hey, no problem)
    2. She was scared (It's ok. We all feel that way at some point. It's one of the things that makes us human)
    3. She thought I was cute and showed my picture to most of her friends (Not worried too much. Flattered if anything!)
    4. She was a man (Well sometimes we.. wait, what?)

And that's how I dated a man for 3 months.

You know how those women from bruma are!

Where the woman are men snd and the men are women...
