Azura's Lag fest and FPS drop

ok enough is enough already. when are the so called devs gonna get off of there a$$'s and fix pvp? oh you lag and have fps issues. hmm must be because you've done lots of quests. OMFG. are you pulling my chain or are you mentally retarted? according to ZOS there is no lag is azura. multiple emails from higher ups stating it must be your connection or your pc must be ancient. *I literally wanted to reach thru and shield bash that customer rep for that comment*

in this image it shows FPS dropping to 15 and it actually drop to 3 fps a few seconds later and the latency was 1.9k and within a few seconds it rose to 15.2k. causing multiple ppl to lock up and drop connection. So you say there is no lag in pvp or that there is no FPS issues, well think again! also I'm not naming or shaming these players in any way in the other image. just find it extremely funny once the lag rose to above 15k latency that whom ever that grp was, that they were able to roam around, cast skills, use pots, use ults and were not affected what so ever by the lag, but over half of the AD and EP disconnected, but barely did I see a DC member lose a connection. So..... yeah.......

plus on a side note, its just funny that with that lag you don't even see yourself getting hit, you see yourself alive, and within a half of a second your dead wondering WTF just happened. So do I need to say more or do I need to start calling out poor game mechanics on the devs behalf.

    DC is also having horrible lag and crap FPS so yeah and as I have said a few times so far PvPers are second class compared to the PvEers. ZOS doesn't care about PvP if they did the lag would be nonexistent or at least not this bad, IC would have been made for PvPers, and our AP bought gear would be available in vet 16.

    i recognize enough people from that group youre in to know that your guild causes more lag than any other in cyrodiil currently.

    stacking 50-70 people together has that effect

    Please stick to the topic. I experience the same issues every evening on Azura/EU. And it is NOT the zerg with 50+ people, it happens occasionally even with just 10 around. The latency issues are there for over a year now, and are most likely server side. The fps issues came with imperial city and are most likely in the game client.

    Please check what you did to the client with that patch. Put in diagnostic code to track it down if needed. But please DO something.

    For the latency issues, I understand it came with what is called the lightening patch around 1.2. With that pach a lot of calculations were moved to or at least were duplicated at the servers to stop bots and hacks. This move was done within a few weeks and I guess can be reverted with similar efford. Instead, use some network security protocols (tokens, encryption, ...) to stop external programs faking the client, and use some memory protection techniques to stop manipulationg the game client memory. Add some plausibility checks at the server (once every few minutes per client would be enough) and kick clients that fail these checks. No cheater will want to relog every five minutes, no need to do that with every single command.

    There's probably a lag switch somewhere in the groups you're fighting...find the person and kill them it solves all the problems........oh wait.....

    I thought someone was using a lag switch on multiple occasions too, they were definitely using something given that they were "tanking" and destroying zergs solo without emp and seemed to take absolutely zero damage... seemed odd to me :tongue:

    And as to the lag switch there isn't such a thing that exists in this game not that I've seen anyway...i only mentioned it cause the guild the op belongs to is famous for making blind accusations against people (their most famous one was against havoc) when they are guilty of lagging out servers

    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system
    • Change emperorship to value faction score points and not alliance points - see this and this

I posted this post is solely for the reason zos see's and understands what is going on in pvp but I highly doubt it, but if we submit a post about issues with the crown store they hop on that like flies on Sh**. it does seem that pve side gets treated a lot better than pvp side which does not make sense but idk anymore.

    now lets go to pvp tonight. there was some lag spikes here and there and some that escalated to 1.5-2k but for a brief second but other than that the server mainly stayed at a constant 200-350 ish. which isn't that bad but still SUCKS! when most of us are use to 70-110 ping. well at least I am.

    as for raizin, you're correct more and more ppl have quit and maybe just maybe they will see (crossing my fingers) to figure out why we are leaving and that there game is now becoming garbabe!

    calm down-.. "they r looking into it!!" :)... It will take probably another 2 years, but meh who cares right, ppl will throw money at crown store pets and mounts so who gives a s**t.

    2 zergs colliding and performance drops... Big surprise

    Problem is that this game is too zerg friendly, there is no incentive to spread out and the server can't handle 2 zergs in one spot.

    My tip for the OP is to spread out, don't zerg and avoid zergs yourself until Zos can fix the lag, penalize zergs and give more incentive to spread out

    So what you're saying is to not pvp...OP's guild doesn't do small man groups and you can bet that the other factions aren't going to not zerg...i know one blue guild that refuses to do anything else...even if you're not going to group and just pug around people will flock to where the action is there's no trying to avoid it...only place that doesn't have major issues for pvp is the sewers and we all know how awesome pvp is there *rolls eyes*

    The performance is unacceptable and I decided to stop paying for it. I've been patient with ZoS but they have reached my limit.

    This has gone on for far too long and the lag seems worse then ever most times. I'm playing less and less as I reach my lag tolerance and simply logout to play something else I can actually enjoy.

    It is a dam shame :(

    yet everyone is correct, most of us do log out when the lag hits an unplayable tolerance. I can deal with 200-300 ping but anything more than that is garbage. like tonight for instance: until the huge groups came on azura was decent lag here lag there but it was playable, but get everyone inside one keep and the whole server starts to flutter. even the most decked out rigs and fast internet connections wont compare. which I have noticed. hell I can log onto a different game and go pvp at prime time when a fort goes live between 2 factions with 300-500 players in one area and I barely tickle my connection or my rig, so yes I do know eso is becoming garbage more and more but when is it enough for the devs and staff to realize.... or do they only care about the crown store?

    Once again, many thanks for the DC skeleton crew and the white tabard guild stacking their full raids on top of each other inside Arrius mine creating a massive lag fest. We all enjoyed your super elitists maneuvers going up and down the stairs in there. What a lovely night.

    Couldn't send a raid to KC or Farra while the other one was at Arrius right? Nahh that's no fun. Gotta stack as many players as possible in the same area to make sure that no one can cc break or weapon swap in time as we run our steel tornado rofllcopter pain train into you.

    Please Zenimax lower population cap to force people to spread out into two different campaigns, lower max group size to 16, remove AOE Cap and bring back dymanic ulti regeneration before I lose patience for once and for all.
