Is it true?

After reading the forums posts today. I am left with one big question? PVP truly is dieing? Yes, there are issues with Cyrodiil; however, PVP players are known for making a mountain out of a molehill also. I am wondering how much is true and how is just people over reacting? I am also wondering how well PVE is doing? Guess, I am thinking out loud again.

My basic question, how well ZOS is doing?
A) Above Expected
B) Expected
C) Poorly
D) ZOS is dieing.

I want to believe that ZOS at least is doing ok, but I am really hoping for "above expected performance" in terms of sales and player retention. After reading so much "doom and gloom" on the forums, it is hard to remain positive. Are my fellow ESO players struggling with the same type of feelings?

Honestly I wouldn't base it on PvPers' or any other complaints on the forum. I'd base it on the rate of increase/decrease of subs and changes in profit margin.

As a PvPer I do think PvP is "sort of dying" but that's based only on the generally declining numbers of people there seem to be during off-peak hours. With the possible exception of always-largest EP zergs..
Disabling the grass may improve performance.

A very small portion of the playerbase actually visits this site. I'm not saying don't believe what you read/see but it is the internet, take it all w/ a grain of salt.

I've been playing daily since xbox 1 release and don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. Just became sucked back in by leveling a new character mainly for pvp and wrecking faces.

I'd give them a B as far as my opinion goes. I haven't been around as long as the beta players and I'd assume their opinion would be C or D because they've been around longer.

Also, keep in mind a lot of BA games just came out and more will come, people are aloud to take breaks and come back if they please.

Honestly, I love the combat in this game, it's the reason I still play it, but I find myself logging out more often nowadays because there's just nothing to do. I run around cyrodiil and IC for the fights, I love fighting other players, but I either run into a zerg, really bad players I can 1v10, or no one at all. It's just not as satisfying as it was before, one thing I really enjoy doing now is dueling, but when those guys leave, it kinda goes back to the way it was. I feel like the thing this game really needs is structured pvp, or a bit more structure to it's current PvP, cause the current system clearly is not working as an incentive to PvP.

TL; DR There's so much to do, and all of it is kind of menial at the moment.

From the PVE side, I feel a little overwhelmed to be honest -- so much content to do, but not enough hours in a day to do it all. I think the new Thieves guild (justice system part II??) and Dark Brotherhood hits, there will be more structured to PVP.

I feel you man, and that's the reason I don't enjoy joining MMO's too late, it's why I can't just pick up WoW or GW2 PvE.

Well judging after pvp population on EU perhaps its not dying but its pretty close to that. Only 1 campaign is locked in prime time and others are quite far from it. Dont even ask about off time.

My feelings on the whole "BOE vs BOP" debate. I am a crafter, so part of me feel good that loot drops are hard to get, thus making crafting have more meaning. However, I can also feel with the players chasing after a drop set. In a way, I am doing the same action -- chasing after the new style books. In that, I am also kind of glad it is hard to get. We don't want everyone and their mother to be Master Crafters do we? Styles are a "good pain" to get. Staying a Grand Master Crafter is my end game.

You might still be seeing the affects of the new content. I know quite a few of the people in our guild that normally run PvP are busy doing dailies or taking advantage of being able to farm V16 mats in wrothgar. They are talking about organizing a big PvP run this week end though. We still have some people doing runs in the Imperial City dungeons trying to get certain gear drops they want to make them even more badass in PvP.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

    @k9mouse -.-

    Well

Endgame gear is hard to get, harder if you have DLC and you want looted sets and not crafted ones.

I advice you to not try to "catch" up, take your time and enjoy the game. You will hit a wall of depression if you try to catch up, because after the lvl grind comes the gear grind, after that CP cap grind, after that all the new fancy styles, new achievements, pvp grind for unlocking good skills, lorebook grind to get meteor ultimate unlocked, skyshard hunting to get enough skillpoints for crafting, undaunted xp for the undaunted passives grind, omg you don't have the armor dye from the new hardest dungeon in game blablablablah the list goes on.

We get new players everyday, and if you socialize a little and collect some active players as friends, join active guilds and learn basics of economy - you will do just fine.

The forums might give a very negative impression of the game/ playerbase, however the majority of the players are having fun playing ESO, despite the problems that get talked about here and more.

If possible, take a look at this group here, their videos are fun and is a good example of how fun this game can be, once you start doing group play and veteran content.

...and this video is from PvP in DLC area :3 (it's not from the same group as above. This guy is also a good duelist in ESO, and not everyone can pull off what he does, but it is still inspiring and fun to watch)

The only thing I ever do in this game is PVP, or PVE only to make gains for PVP.

I now haven't PVP'd in a month or so...not sure why, I guess it just isn't as pleasing as it used to be pre-IC.

I love IC and all, really, it's just that everything is different now, and when I'm now in IC It's just farming for mats, and the ocassional gank when a scrub tries to kill me.

Not been to Cyrodiil tonight but the lag recently has been bad, huge delay on button presses when there is a lot going on making it very difficult to fight effectively, getting shot with arrows/spells after passing through a keep door, and NPCs still standing up for for a couple of seconds after they have been killed, then falling over. It really chugs sometimes, the performance definitely seems worse lately than it used to be.

PVE'er here for the most part. The biggest issue we have is that the most rewarding 4-man content (DSA) and all of the 12-man content (trials) are dead. They failed to raise the level and loot for some ridiculous reason. This is definitely causing certain raid guilds to collapse because there is no longer a reason to run them. The flip side is that Orsinium is beautiful and some of the new dungeons are really fun. The loot system is a mess, but hopefully they will address that at some point...

    @failkiwib16_ESO

Thanks for the good words, kind sir. I have been here since beta. :) I came from a single player background and ESO is my 1st "real" MMO that I put any amount of time in. I have six VR16s, one VR14.5 and one level 17. I do have some active guilds and good people in them. However, they are more focus on PVP then I am. I really do enjoy grinding and yes I am an oddball in that regard. ;) I would to find someone who want to hunt, farm and grind with me everyday with chars in every faction. Finding such a person is hard.

I believe PvP is at its worse.
Yet there are more people playing PvP than ever.
How? Well there was a DLC and people flock to games when there's new content.

3 months from now we will see. There are a multitude of problems, but I just want the AoE caps gone. And maybe some smallscale added.

A.) B.) or C.) ? Well, do a search 'aoe caps' and see what the community, streamers and beta testers have been asking for all along. I 'used' to love this game. :)
If your group is bigger than 6 members gain 75% damage reduction.

Write this on the back of your box and see how many sales you get!

You won't get any new PvP players until this archaic AoE crap is fixed.
I for one won't resub until:
    1.) You fix lag.
2.) You remove AOE caps we voted against.
3.) 12 months have passed (this is how long we've waited for you to 'get with it')[/b]

the only people who think/say PVP is "dieing" are the ones who want a Team Deathmatch and/or 1vs1 Mortal Kombat PVP, instead of the large scale PVP the game was designed for.

Show me that large scale on EU serwers. Seriously please do. You need to log in on a particular campaign on particular time and pray to dark gods that you will get that.
