We have
2 healers
1 healer/tank
9 dps (with 3500-3800 damage)

We can clear the second boss with about 2-3 deaths and then once we get to the second boss we just get destroyed by the flares and meteor!

We all pick an add and the odd dps helps. But this is where it all fails, we start aoe and the healer heals us but we can't make it. We block the flames and move away from the red, we can't make it and it's very frustrating!!

Dulfy guide helps somewhat with the blocking etc but we need help and advice please. What's your best way to get past the second boss if you have done it and how to do it fast.

Is this being done on console? If so, the DPS makes more sense. If you're getting wrecked to the top boss, crushing shock from the destro line will keep their flame attack interrupted. Until you get really good at melee dodging or taking the meteors face on.. you may want to think about sending ranged attackers up top. These are very old strategies but they still work well for those just starting with this trial. Other thoughts are popping barrier on the add transitions. Have a healer spam ward. Stay fairly close to the healer and spam healing springs. We haven't had to do this kind of strategy in ages but they all work. Just some thoughts. Best of luck with HRC. It's been done a million times but I believe it is still a blast and is a fun trial to master.

On the runs I've done, there are always two tanks, because you split your group after the first boss. After that, it's basic mechanics. Tanks tank boss, DPS burn down adds and boss, healers heal. Everyone needs to interrupt special attacks. Sounds like that is where your group is getting creamed. You can make the next fights easier by not drawing aggro from the entire group of mobs. I've been lucky enough to run with a team that really knows the mechanics, and both HRC and AA are relatively easy.....most runs are 15-20 minutes. Wish this was more specific, but no doubt YouTube has that. You should try to find someone who has done these to walk you through them. Also, Teamspeak or similar is a must unless everyone is experienced with these events.

When the flame shapers lift their staff in the air, bash them and say "pow right in the kisser."

The interrupt will prevent the raid wide damage.

Is it even possible to have that low dps, or are you doing it with low levels?
see spoiler, don't want to spoil it.
The only dps check in there is on the last boss when all the adds spawn if you don't burn him fast enough. With that average dps, yes, you will hit that add phase like a brick wall. The other bosses it doesn't matter.

Use lightening staffs with destructive clench. Will stun the adds and get in the bosses face afterwards. Just fight them up close and bash away. Healers chuck spears out to keep stamina up also.

If you have magicka DPS up top, Harness Magicka will keep the mana pool full and prevent most of the damage. Reapply when the shield is low or off, and you should have no problems. For Stamina DPS, quick cloak helps mitigate some of the damage, and venom arrow can Interrupt the channeled flare. If you have any hybrid builds in group, change your builds.

Make sure you're using elemental drain, syphon spirits and mystic orbs for magicka management and Spear shards/Repentance for stamina management as drink and fully charged heavy attacks are a DPS loss.
