I think Rite of Passage is awesome. Basically the same thing as Phoenix 5 piece. Even better in small group.

From what I've encountered, using this ultimate just slightly delays the Templars inevitable death. Instead of using an ultimate to help obliterate enemies, they just hide in a shell until the slaughtering begins. Personally, I hate this ability.

That's a fair call, but the 1v1s I've had with Templars that use this, I just spammed heavy attacks while they channelled it to regain my stamina, then burst them down with my useful ultimates when they came out of hiding.I like to have 1 defensive and 1 offensive ultimate so I can pick which one to use based on the situation. I've already met several palyers I wasn't able to beat, but they couldn't beat me either thx to this ability. So instead of my loss it was a draw.
As I said in my comment above, I'm not that stupid :PEspecially handy since in those first few seconds the gankers are usually bursting with everything they have, so using remembrance to survive through it leaves me with the upper hand.

Man, I'd LOVE bats... if you didn't have to be a Vampire. I currently don't have any, nor do I plan to ever have one. But bats tho.. omgBest offensive ultimate for templar I feel is Batswarm, goes really well with Puncturing Strikes and Thaumaturge. Sadly you cant play vampire in PvP at the moment, since ZoS supports instagibbing with Camo Hunter. Not that many great choices left. Meteor, Dawnbreaker or Soul Assault.
So I've been playing Templar for a bit because it was pretty much the only class I haven't really given the old college try. Pretty fun so far. I really like the stam morphs you're given, and there's a nice balance between usable magicka and stamina abilities. I like that.
But is it just me, or do the Templar ultimates just plain suck? I mean, sweep has potential. It's low cost, and in theory it's good, but it just does jack. It feels like a flawless dawnbreaker abomination.
I think it'd be really sexy if there was a physical damage morph that gave you minor brutality (4% weapon damage) just for having it slotted, and the magical one minor sorcery (4% spell damage), or just buff it a bit at the very least. At the moment it's like slapping someone across the face with a wet sock.
The only good thing about Nova is its synergy, and Rite of Passage, well.. I just can't see myself ever using that one.
If you feel otherwise, please let me know why and how you make the most of Templar ultimates, or what changes you'd like to see if you agree they suck.

Templars in general need a redoing...
Most attacks are channeled and most projectils are moving VERY slow....

I never tried it since then, but they increased travel time of sun fire in IC patch. It was in the patch notes.

I don't blame you in the slightest. Would just be nice if Templar had an Ultimate that maybe wasn't AS good, but was a nice alternative until you get Dawnbreaker. Sweep doesn't even feel like that.

I tried using sweep for the 8 second 15% damage reduction but it just doesn't cut it in PvP.

timidobserver wrote: »Yeh the ultimates are pretty bad. The only one of them that there is ever any reason to use is Nova, and that highly depends on the situation.
So there is no use for probably the strongest healing ability that is? Come on.
