I loathe even the thought of leveling a new character. I currently have two VR16 characters, a VR1 and two low level characters.
My first character I leveled through the quest line all the way up to Silver. Once I finished Silver I realized I could grind mobs in Craglorn delves and level from VR5-VR14 in a matter of hours, not days. My second VR16 was leveled through straight grinding. The VR1 was leveled through grinding as well.
If the quest lines weren't so tedious the second, third or even fourth time through them I would consider doing them again. I'm not the kind of person that enjoys going through the same content over and over again to get to end game. I understand in an MMO that is the meta, which is why I chose the route of mob grinding for my second and third characters. It's just as tedious as questing but much, much, faster.
Would enjoy a Crown Store item that gives a plain VR16 level character. Would still have to gather Skyshards, Lore Books, Fighters Guild rep and do the quest lines for the extra Skill Points. Of course there would have to be stipulations added. Such as; Must already have a max level character, Must have completed Cadwell's Silver and Gold on one max level character, etc. This would definitely make the game more enjoyable for people like myself who want to have a max level character of all classes but simply don't have the extra time to invest countless days/weeks into leveling another one.

But there's always the differences you can enjoy... remembering how you did this quest or bossfight the last time, and enjoy how it might be different this time around.
And of course, work on finding all the details for that alt build... what works for you, that is interesting, what works but seems boring, etc.

Yeah, it may be faster, but its also something I feel makes my brain seem like its liquefying and slowshing around in my skull - but hey, if someone doesn't have that to worry about, they can take the grinders road as well. Just don't complain when they adjust some unintentionally bountiful spots, grinding is supposed to be a viable alternative to questing at best, not a super-effective shortcut.
But also let's not forget that this is ELDER SCROLLS and questing is the name of the game for the series
One of my biggest issues with questing and PvE in general is that 90% of the story content was written as a single-player experience and just kind of patched into an MMO... the story feels completely out of place with the world...
They didn't even try to make the story MMOie.. They could have very easily pitched an idea of a multiverse or something, and there being a million vestiges... but no, it's "Greetings, chosen one! You are the one and only chosen one who is destined to save the world! Now, please move aside, you're holding up the line of chosen ones that I must dole out this quest reward to."
Heck no. I did it and you can do it too.
It isnt bad and you need the experience to learn how to play that character.
I feel there should be an item you get once you finish Cadwells Gold and full clear all 15 Alliance zones, that when used on a new character Boosts you to Vr1 and clears the MAIN quest line in each zone.
Solo quest lines are still good to good to go and all side quests, along with skyshards etc etc.

I kinda feel bad for the devs who put so much work into each zone and their quests when I see people prefer to skip them, really.
Once or eight times, I always love to see it all again. What I do after Cadwell's Gold I always decide when I get there.
I like to quest. I enjoyed going through main story and Cadwell's silver and gold with my first toon. Took my time, read dialogs, etc.. And even if i'm unhappy with many quest design choices that have been made I appreciate the job they did.
Now I want to give the 3 other classes a try. And as you know i'm forced to go through the whole thing again with each new char.
And as everyone else i guess, this time i'm rushing through everything like it s a job, speed boost --> marker --> speed boost -->marker, i read nothing, i'm fed up with Auridon, it's a soul-crushing and totally unfun experience. There are hours and hours of this crap ahead of me if i want to get them all to max lvl.
So... they made a storyline and they want us to do it. I understand. But what if, when we have one char who has completed say Cadwell's gold, we were offered the possibility to lvl new toons differently if we want to. Mostly through dungeons and PvP I'd say, wich would then give more xp one way or another. It could be done in many different ways.
It would still take some time, but we would level by playing and not through a boring work. It also means more ppl trying to group for dungeons and less doing some boring grind on their own, wich is good for the game I think.
It's also a question of immersion. It's already hard to accept that you're all the Chosen One just like me and saved Nirn through defeating Molag Bal just like I did, now if have to do it 4 times with 4 different toons who are supposed to coexist it feels weired.
Not sure if making it a poll is very relevant, i still do it by curiosity and in the silly hope to make devs consider it.
As the game continues to age, more content will be added, until you reach a point where you can pick and choose zones to quest in, etc. which will help alleviate the "I have to do all the same content over again." LotRO eventually got to this point, and I've no doubt ESO will as well. Give it a couple more years.
