Because PvP is a lag/zerg fest. Devs refuse to give players the option to duel and an option for small structured lag free PvP. Many players PVE so they can PvP, but when PvP is broken, there's no incentive to do anything
Whatever. Funny how, on Monday that wasn't the case. Just another example of "entitled" PvP"er's whining about not being able to gank everybody, all the time, everywhere in the game and take all their stuff.

not to be an annoying pc master race elitist. but sandbox games with an active modding community like all the bethesda games really should be played on the PC. i cant imagine playing any of them without mods
Not dead yet, but dying a slow and painful death. Has been since the great fps debacle of 1.2.

I have a pretty good feel for the ebb and flow of the game population based on how much recruiting I have to do in order to keep our roster full and how many people per day meet our inactivity threshold.
I know a lot of people are going to disagree with this, but believe it or not, it is no more challenging to recruit and keep a full roster now then it was a month after launch.
With a roster of 500, we go through 5-10 people per day, and that has been pretty consistant since the beginning. Activity goes down a little when things get stale, then increases a little with each to content update, but it's been fairly consistent. There are still plenty of people replacing the ones that leave.
I won't be worried about the game population until it gets to the point where people are leaving faster than they can be replaced.

You DO realize that the majority of players playing this game are traditionally single-player gamers, right?!? They're not typical MMO type players. So no, it is not a surprise that a single-player game would cause a large drop in population in an MMO that is highly supported by single-player gamers.
