Dude, fallout 4 has been hyped for YEARS now. People at my job have been talking and wanting it before eso came to be. OF COURSE people are going to play it.

Here's the thing, it's single player, meaning people can set it down and pick it right back up. The fact that eso has such a player base right when Fallout 4 comes out is impressive.

Seriously no other game I know of has had this kind of hype. Its fallout freakin 4

I saw it coming from miles away. Only one active/good Cyrodil Campaign should be good indicator, especially at launch, imagine 1 year down the road, they should just overhaul and transform Cyrodil into F2P game to draw more people in. Shortly said, one good Campaing aint gonna cut it, never.

Its not that people will leave ESO because they do not like the game, its the issues that ESO has and taking its sweet time to address.

New anything hype is strong. Fallout 4 is new. Give it some time and the new game hype will subside and then those that do enjoy ESO will be back to playing it. As a PS4 NA player though I can definitely vouch the game is anything but dead though, and believe me I know dead games!

Monday??? PvP has been terrible and a major problem for awhile now

Did someone hurt your feelings in IC or something? I don't care about taking anybody's "stuff" Did you even read what I wrote? Had nothing to do with ganking and everything to do with game performance and mechanics

    This^

I got it on my pc, set everything to ultra (thanks to two gtx 970s and an i7) and was in love with the game

I disabled fps caps and get a very respectable 90-120fps, 90 is the minimum when running in open world during radiation storms etc, it's as smooth as butter, haven't had any glitches at all.

But anyway, the problem is with fallout is single player, once I finish it I don't like to replay it, so I'm taking my time and enjoying it all.

Well i wouldn't go as far as dying but for any MMO stagnation (especially with low pop as ESO is) is terrible and in the end, yes it causes death. Been on 3 "shutting the severs" events so far, wonder if ESO will be the fourth one.

I've been recruiting for BMW since day one. I've also been removing inactive accounts since day one. This is on PC/NA. I have a pretty good feel for the ebb and flow of the game population based on how much recruiting I have to do in order to keep our roster full and how many people per day meet our inactivity threshold.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with this, but believe it or not, it is no more challenging to recruit and keep a full roster now then it was a month after launch.

With a roster of 500, we go through 5-10 people per day, and that has been pretty consistant since the beginning. Activity goes down a little when things get stale, then increases a little with each to content update, but it's been fairly consistent. There are still plenty of people replacing the ones that leave.

I won't be worried about the game population until it gets to the point where people are leaving faster than they can be replaced.

How many of those are new players? because the last few times i was playing ESO and lvling my last alt all i have seen were old players doing the same. Not only that, but almost every day i was bumping on the same players. Well im on EU so perhaps its different.

An MMO should have not lost this many people because of an RPG.

You DO realize that the majority of players playing this game are traditionally single-player gamers, right?!? They're not typical MMO type players. So no, it is not a surprise that a single-player game would cause a large drop in population in an MMO that is highly supported by single-player gamers.

This is a great point. The guild I'm currently with hasn't lost many since we're hardcore pvpers, but I would not be surprised if most guilds in the game temporarily lost a significant amount of population to fallout 4.

Here's my way of checking. My xbox friends.

Before I had any friends I started inviting people from Neverwinter, added 15ish friends from there. In about 2 weeks, only 3 players still play Neverwinter, only 2 consistently (sometimes do play other games)

Since I stopped Neverwinter I started eso. I added about another 15 friends only from eso. About 4 or 5 play consistently, others have nba games, fall out, halo, destiny (actually like the least played even with taken king) etc.

This makes me believe, that yes, console players rotate games often. Those that never came back, put in Very Little time to begin with.

I guess my point is, the cycle of players is very common. Those that don't come back typically really didn't play to begin with.

Whrn those 2 players stop Neverwinter then ill be worried for it, or when those 4 stop eso Ill be worried for them.

But let us not forget the most important indicator: YOU! Do you still enjoy it? I know I do! You'll find me out there, usually around midnight, or 10 pm mountain usa time. :)

Some players will trickle back in after Orsinium releases but I doubt it is going to be the numbers many seem to think. Especially on console. Too many good releases and ZoS chose to ignore players for too long. Argue amonst yourselves all you or deny it. Numbers are most likely never going to be what they were. Anyone thinking they will is only fooling themselves.

I said about players leaving and made this prediction long ago and people said it wasn't happening, ESO would keep all its players because it's such a good game. Orsinium might keep the attention (for a while) of the PvE players that left, but not the PvP players. I fear this game is on a population decline, and may not recover its glory days.

A few areas have some people running around, but overall ESO is feeling like a single player game with some other players occasionally running by.

I'm finishing the main story, but after that, I cant see the game holding my attention.

Its not just fallout. I bought orsinium loved the quests, completed half of them, but I just cannot handle another round of bugs and memory leaks. So i stopped playing the dlc i just payed for. Im reinstalling old games and playing them till this game gets better. I have very few reasons to play right now, even less as a magicka DK. The loading screen fix is a nice start.
