    Circa 1986 - ZX Spectrum 128k +2
    Circa 1990 - Commodore Amiga 500+
    Circa 1994 - 486 DX-33 PC

Been playing on PC ever since, with very short forays into console land.

When I started games took 10 minutes to load, you didn't have save games, graphics were blurry. Since then, so much has changed! Nowadays ESO takes 10 minutes to load, you can't save progress in Maelstrom Arena, you need to turn graphics to low to squeeze some more fps... Oh, wait

(just kidding. for the most part)

I can remember playing video games for as long as I have memories, lol. I know I played many Atari games, but the game that sticks out to me as the first one I REALLY got into was Dragon Warrior on Nintendo.

I started playing GTA1 and the original NFS game at age 3, I am sure most people started gaming before the 90's here though.

i was playing most of the sonic games and toe jam and earl at this age, GTA was at the age of 5-6 :)
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

Does pong count? Most of my early years were free of video games because they didn't exist yet.

Yep, same for me. First one was Pong and that came out in the mid '70s or so.

If the OP is referring to computer games them I was 12 when I played my first computer game. The year was 1969; I remember the year vividly because that was the summer when the astronauts landed on the moon. There were no consumer computer systems or video games back then. The only computer games that I played were the ones that I written in FORTRAN on the IBM 1130 during a summer school course for computer science students. I wrote games like was Tic-Tac-Toe, and Mastermind. You had to type the program code on punch cards.

Although these were computer games, they weren’t video games, so I guess the first commercial video game I played was Pong in 1972 and at the arcade.

Time sure goes by fast, but I still playing video games and having fun. Just started Fallout 4 and having a blast!

Cannot remember what game I first started on, but I do know it was on the Amstrad 6128, tape games to begin with then the awe inspiring floppy disc drive of the Amiga 500, and then went through varying incarnations of the Amiga, with some consoles inbetween.

    Then finally PC.

Played Dungeons & Dragons as well, but as a kind of board game :)

My Nan had a Commodore 64 bought when I was about 4. Had no idea what I was doing. When I was 5, I got a NES with Mario Bros/Duck Hunt. I had most consoles from that generation and up, played Elder Scrolls Arena when that came. I can't really remember not having video games ever.

hah, I was featured in Nintendo Power for being the only person to complete Super Mario Bros. 2 (at the time) who had submitted proof. I was just a lil kid, I also had received another mention for having the best total score for those who completed it. They sent me a bunch of cool stuff.

Now, I played video games before that but wow was that one fun and a very unique Super Mario Bros game. Unlike the majority of Mario-related games, the final boss wasn't Bowser but instead "Wart".

In 1978 at 17 years old. The games where space invaders, asteroids, and death race on stand up consoles. For computers it was 1985 on Commedor 64 and the games where SimCity, Sid Mier's Pirates and Ultima (the first one). So it's been a little more them 35 years. :p And for what my opinion is worth, the good old days of gaming weren't the golden age, we're in the golden age now.
