ESO took the word "guild" and started using it in completely different meaning. Most of the guilds aren't real guilds in ESO, so I don't know which guilds you speak about, the real guilds or trading guilds?
I'd like to know as well. At least a couple more guilds for traders would be nice in lou of an auction house.

I know exactly why. Its to prevent material hoarding. its bad enough as it is some people owning their own private guild banks by exploiting the system. Right now they are all in a rage due to the PTS 183, 217, 241 stacking error. It creates a sence of entitlement and then things like the stacking error bug happen and then they unsubscribe. In the end its a good way in my opinion to keep someone from unsubscribing for a reason that shouldn't exist in the first place.

EDIT: I am coming back to edit this post, because I realise that it could come across as exceedingly harsh - in a way it was meant to, but I felt it better that I come back and explain.
To people opposed to guild banks being used privately, please state what advantage you think this gives in the game? The answer is - NONE. As guild banks do not stack similar items, it is just another tedious inventory management task.
Why do people use them then? I hear you ask. Because I have more than 1 account, and it is a more efficient way of passing things from one account to the other than mailing, which can only do 6 items at a time and it can take a long time to send all those mails, having a private guild bank just makes it less tedious. My private guild bank is not filled with stacks of gold upgrade mats, it holds soul gems and food and potions that I pass back and forth between accounts. Even if my bank DID hold stacks of gold upgrade mats, they don't magic themselves in there, they would have been things I earned.
Guild banks are actually really tedious to use (half the time you can't even view them at the bank, what with infinite loading of guild bank inventory half the time). They are just slightly less tedious than in game mail.
If you imagine that someone with 10 accounts and a private guild bank has some sort of advantage to their play, you are completely mistaken - more likely more time spent swearing at the banker UI.
EDIT AGAIN: And YES I am cross at the loss of stuff that occurred recently to the guild bank where I am the GM and this affected not just me, but my guild members.

Me grow up? Who is the one creating multiple accounts and trying to defend this disreputable way of playing? Its an exploit plain and simple. L2P, one account is all you should need. 10 seperate accounts all you? Not a legitimate way to play. You are just as bad as those gold website sellers. I'm doing just fine with one account.

Darlin' - the multiple accounts I created, are ones I PAID FOR. I am on PC and paid for multiple copies of the game. Are you saying that is not allowed? Because it isn't your call - ZOS says I can do that.
If IRL you pay for 3 cars, do you get to keep them, or do you have 2 taken from you because it's unfair on the basis that others have only 1, or maybe not any car at all? I mean it is not like you can drive more than 1 at a time. If I want multiple accounts and pay for them, it is not for you to determine whether that is fair or not. Hence my friendly suggestion to grow up.
Oh and to have my way of playing (because I like to try out different characters and have more than 1 account because I wanted more character slots) described as "disreputable" is completely laughable.

You just proved my point. Just because you have the money doesnt make it right. Thats 5 games that could have gone to someone else who's wanted that game for ages and they were sold out because you bought the 6 copies the store had left. Not including 1 copy for you thats 300$ worth of groceries that could have been bought. You can't eat a game disk the last time I checked. Its immoral and wrong in every way. Until you stop saying I got the money so I can do it your not worth talking to.

Thing is, I bet if someone pointed out that you held a socialist point of view, you would probably be horrified.
EDIT: BTW, I don't have 10 accounts, I have 2. And if we are going to go through immoral spending, then I expect to see a detailed account of what you spend money on in your monthly budget - you can't just get mad at me without giving similar details of your own expenditure - are you saying you give all your money to people in need and never buy anything for yourself? The fact you have 1 copy of the game and are sitting here posting from a PC or other computer-like device makes a lie of that. You just use it as a moralistic argument when it suits you, otherwise you would be in a monastery having given up all worldly goods, if you are *that* unsullied.

You just shot yourself with that moralistic comment. You just did it. I'm just not gonna talk to mrs. money bags anymore because it seems I'm wasting my time. Money has poisoned her mind and thats all there is to it. Oh and btw all the electronic things I use were all given to me. I have not spent one dime on my own tv, phone etc.

More than one guild only makes sense for trading, given that we don't have an auction house.
The term guild should have been divided between 'clan' and 'trade network' from the start imo, each with their own size limitations and restrictions.
I always preferred the comrade mentality of committing to and fighting for one small guild. The fact that there's five slots just means that there are that many more people being seemingly inactive in your guild because they're playing with someone else.
There's no guild pride when at any given time you could be a member of all the active pvp guilds in your faction lol
also:
The guild tabards are neat but I would love it if they changed the 'afk/offline/busy' status to 'playing with X guild' and gave us guild tags above our heads that changed accordingly.
