I Want Cloaks, Capes and Rags to drape on my Character, and the Ability to Preview Weapons Already!

Why are developers always misleading us with CG of supposed in-game content that is nowhere to be found in the actual game? I think it's about time we (at the very least) got a costume that resembles a shrouded robe/cloak, similar to that of the Dark Brotherhood's choice of style. Allow us to have a scarf-like attire that drapes across our face, obscuring our identity, but lifts in the wind when it blows. Do hats not exist in the ES universe? Can we get COOL casual-looking clothing that makes a player feel bad*ss to fight in? Or give us more rugged looks that resembles that of a lone wanderer. You'll already broke lore continuity... so what harm will it be for you'll to do it with clothing?

I'm tired of developers promising a revolutionary game experience, only to find out they neglected to mention what they left out. It's not rocket-science. There have been many predecessor MMO's that have shown what works and what doesn't. So why do I have to craft weapons nearly blind-folded, because someone thought it smart to not incorporate a viewing option? How hard is it to implement the same freaking preview feature that is used in the Crown Store when trying to purchase a costume or a horse? Did you not think that we would want to see the weapon, or clothing we're about to craft with our already limited resources? It's annoying to make a new weapon and discover that you liked the hilt that you could see, but that the darn blade is ugly or not what was expected.

Come on Zenimax... Is the population in the game not low enough without you'll playing 'Drop-ball'?

While you're at it ZOS, make it possible for players to save their current look as a costume, so that we can cosmetically overlap it over any new armor acquired. DC Universe Online did it. Or is that not a cool idea to you all? I like what ESO is so far, but it can be so much more.

Try not to take six years to get it right like DCUO did, and they still suck overall, with their generic approach to providing a superhero experience.

This game actually is a generic korean mmo with a newish combat system and a TES costume.
If you ask for something that changes it you're out of luck cause not gonna happen.

And therein lies the sad truth, as to why I'm disappointed. It seems like there really are no good MMOs out there. Because developers keep doing stupid and lazy things. Oh well... I just wanted to speak on it. Maybe someday soon it will change.

Not sure of you looked at Orsinium but they have kind of been busy bringing you awesome content.

    Just saying.

I believe they have said that the reason they won't do capes and such is because they don't believe themselves technically able. As in, if they are implemented, they will not be implemented well. Flopping cardboard basically.

In which case I say its a good thing they are not implementing them.

But as for rags and weapon previewing? We have heard ziltch on that. Would be god to have though.

Zenimax does not plan to add capes and cloaks due to clipping issues and the like. The idea was initially going to be put in but was scrapped for such reasons. If you're lucky, they may try again someday...

I seem to remember someone saying that capes wouldn't be put in because of the extra graphics load that would result.

That said, anyone used the capes mod for Skyrim? I'd give a link but I'm on my phone.

Then I feel they shouldn't show it in their trailers. It's misleading, but they're aware that certain things wouldn't look cool without them.

Cloaks are always a problem to render properly for games, especially when you can have so many players on screen like is ESO. Not gonna happen.

Neverwinters cloaks looked pretty good to me. If a free 2 play game can make decent looking cloaks, eso should be able to aswell.

    Tho I'm not picky.

I would much rather see the ability to craft and upgrade our own jewelry before getting capes and cloaks.

Maybe instead of new content they should fix the old content that is broken or lacking.

    1. Guild Traders (can't even search for a specific item - broken much?? What game does that?)
    2. Bugs, bugs, bugs
    3. Exploits
    4. Broken systems (such as Veteran ranks that everyone hates or champion reworks - promised)

And I want players to stop posting "I want this" threads. You know what I really want ? For ZOS to fix the game. Broken mechanics such as block casting and shield stacking, Templars and Dragon Knights under powered, heavy armor users just being walking trash cans cause shields and rolling out class it as defense, the loading screens, the macro users, the skill spam, and so on.

Stop beating the dead horse already cloaks, capes, or what ever isn't being added.

Cloaks and capes are very hard to animate without it looking silly. Even though I'm slightly surprised that ZOS hasn't put half the company on this obvious cash cow, I do think they have more meaningful ways to spend their resources.

I cannot disagree with you, not completely. Maybe it's because I'm not a ESO junkie (I also play EvE, and try to find time for Pillars of Eternity, Galactic Civilizations III, Sorcerer King and Civilization: Beyond Earth - not to mention Real Life) - the only issues I really have with a 'broken' game so far is...
    1) The interminable Load Screens (45-65 seconds for my sub-VR toons and 90-120s for my VR toons),
    2) Unable to join PvP battles* where there are more than a dozen people or so without freezing up and crashing, and
    3) The abysmal trading system

Fortunately they fixed the problem of falling to your death on log-in - got so bad before the fix I was removing my armor before logging out my toons. And while my RNG luck is rather dismal, I haven't had inventory issues or experienced a rollback since I started playing the game.

*This seems to be an issue more in Cyrodiil proper rather than in the Imperial City where in my short time there I didn't experience a crash.

There are a lot of things that could be done to ESO that aren't technically fixes, but would go a long ways to improving the game.
