Nb vs Temp vs Sorc

Hey all,

Trying to decide which class to play for the new patch. I enjoy them all but prefer dps/healing roles and with the addition of the new solo arena a class that will perform well.

Any one in a similar situation?

    Templar.

    Magicka Templar- Breton/Dunmer/Altmer.
    Stamina Templar- Imperial/Redguard/Bosmer.

    Edit:
    For PvE, Templar.

For PvP, NB and Sorc but you can still be good in PvP as a Templar( learn your class well )

Then take templar because they are the king/queen of PvE(especially with mobs)

The must build- bitting jabs + repentance.

    Edit:
The above build is for stamplar( stamina templar)

For magicka use the other morph of bitting jabs and rest you have to do some research.

For solo Arena Sorc is top notch
    NB is cool too
but Templars lack either the dps as magicka or the heal as stamina to be good in there. Also the Templar charge is bugged again so magicka ones have no gap closer unless they use invasion or crit rush

The positive thing about Templars is they are the healers you will always find a group but you will rarely be able to run as a DD

PvE solo seems to be best done via sorc.

PvE in general, each class has its usefulness.

NBs are king of PvP, not sure how they deal with PvE.

Templars, as healers are always in high demand, and can go well into PvP, some soloers are really good.

I can see you doin well with each, Sorc's bolt is great for getting through dungeons, mobs, etc very quickly.

Just finished the vMSA on my sorc after finishing it on my magicka Templar yesterday. I have to say it's a lot easier as a Sorc at least in the beginning. Maybe Templars can perform just as good if you have a lot of practice in the arena.

For PVE healing most of the groups prefer a Templar because of the stamina return through shards and repentance. In my opinion the NB is the better heal because you can deal more dmg while healing (funnel health, sap essence). For a pure DPS I would also take a NB because of the utility, even though sorcs deal more single target DPS (in short fights).

So for pure healing take a Breton Templar, for pure Arena and DPS take a high elf Sorc and if you want to be flexible and play all roles pretty well (even tanking) then role a Breton NB. I haven taken my NB to the arena yet but it seems to perform good (world high score in VMSA is hold by a NB atm).

    I hope that helps.

Solid advise here. I would add that from a DPS trials point of view, Magic (dunmer) DKs are still right at the top it seems for the really long fights. Sorcs have more burst, but their crazy DPS is ultimate dependent. DKs also arguably make the best tanks, which are in really high demand at the moment. I realize you omitted DKs from your post, but these are the two situation in which they are still very useful.

DKs - Best tanks and sustained (> 1 minute) single target DPS.
    Templars - Best healers
Sorcs - Best burst, best shields, best solo play (look at arena leaderboards)
NBs - My first toon was a NB (magic at the moment, but have played stam a lot). They are IMO good at a lot of things but not necessarily best at anything. Magic NBs seem to be the second choice behind sorcs for an arena build at the moment. They have really good DPS and amazing utility with off heals. Also, they are one of the easier classes to play in my experience and have perhaps the best overall class balance.

Unless you really want to heal, I would go with Altmer or Breton NB or Sorc.

Because you're gimped! Lol sorry couldn't help it. I'm gonna assume one of two things

1.OP heard all the smack talkabout DKs and figured he didn't want it. Or
    2. OP doesn't wannabe such a tanky character

Personally I would roll a templar (as my alt) or NB. Im already Sorc. Templars look like they can be a lot of fun and NBs just pwn.

I would just suggest beating the lower level (normal) dungeons before your level gets high, makes it easier to do and easier to get in a group. Because I did NOT do this it looks like im gonna have to solo them (or hopefully the new group finder will help a lot)

Magicka Templar sounds like exactly what you would like. If you're going stamina any class but Templar is what you want.

I'm torn between nb and Sorc arm. Since it doesn't seem like there's a huge disparity in dps, what about alternate roles? Nb healers seem awesome but what about a sorcs alternate role?

I played a NB and a Sorc. I am giving a Stam sorc a try since with passives I heard sorcs could get the highest weapon damage out of all classes, and the thought of a heavy attack stealth attack with a sorc bow makes me happy oh so happy.

With that being said, I played a magic NB, and it was fun cloak stab cloak stab. (magic base.) vampire bats because I can..buuut..It felt lacking to me. NB that is. Stam ones I heard hit like a truck, but I wanted a Stam sorc for the zoom zoom zip stun. And lighting>all.

Sure you can make a sorc healer or tank work. For healing you don't offer anything special compared to other classes and you lose your high DPS (explain your group mates that they died because you didn't turn off your overload ultimate fast enough). Tanking is a bit different than with the other classes but if you take advantage of the strong class shield you can be a viable tank.

Overall I would still say that NBs are more welcome in dungeon groups whatever role they play. For pure solo play Sorcs might be a little better though.
