There should be separate achievements for those that beat content at its launch level difficulty. "Pre-Nerf Doshia slayer", "Pre-Nerf Molag Bal survivor", "Hard mode Lyris' doppelgänger champion (sheds a tear)", "White gold OG". Just a few examples.

Or just give them a glowing aura and the title "Elitist Mother*****" and everyone know who to stay away from.

Oh yes I'll gladly take this glorious title to show that I'm better than you peasants

I'm in agreement here with the defense. I push hard to master end game content. Trials, dungeons, all of it. But being forced to grind countless hours in these 2 dungeons over the last 2 months to get my v16 sets has been a ridiculous pain. Outside of leading raids on a weekly basis, I was reduced to basically only running these dungeons. I didn't PvP, run quests, work on new toons, nothing. I ran pledges and did this-and-that, but I lived in those dungeons. Now that they aren't as time consuming, AND they upped the drop rate, I can cut my time invested in half. Yay for finishing off these sets once and for all!

Good move here ZOS! Those of us who went wack-o getting the achievements and grinding the gear had plenty of time in the limelight. Let the typical player actually be able to complete these now. We have tougher and more challenging things ahead of us now to deal with (Vet Maelstrom). It's content progression people.. and they're doing a great job IMO.

My problem with all of this is that so much stuff changes before I ever even have time to try it. I have a handful of hours I can put into gaming every week (maybe half a dozen) - max. And I dont -just- play ESO, nor do I want to. I love ESO though, but as an example - I truly played Imperial City for the first time this weekend (and it was pretty fun too) - but didnt even do the dungeons, only questing in the city, roaming the sewers etc...

-I haven't had a chance to finish Gold or Craglorn yet, or do all the dungeons on Vet. And am crazy far from doing any substantial amount of questing in Cyro. And now Orsinium is out. I'm happy, don't get me wrong. But then I hear how things get nerfed that I never had a chance to try yet and I'm like: how very little is the portion of people who've actually played this so far that they might all be complaining about it.

My point being; you must be a -very- little minority to think it was great (and to be fair I'm confident I'd be in that group, I was one of those crazy person that wished for full world PvP) - if it got changed anyway when most of the player base has'nt even tried it yet.

Just my 2 cents. I might be wrong also.

I know right? V16 gear took the fun out of testing new gear sets. I remember I had a spec for bows to play around with (with different pieces of gear) a set of gear for running with groups, a set of gear for ganking, a set of gear for PvE dungeons, and I would play around with all kinds of stuff for all those scenarios.

Now that's been taken away. Booo, need to make mats for V16 gear more accessible.

Yes, let's reward rushing through content and consuming it as fast as possible. It's called "This little pig runs to the market". ;)

never understood why doshia needed nerfing ... bash red lines, break free hold, kill orbs, how hard can it be?

but then again, if i see some v16s run daily undaunted i somehow can understand the need to nerf it, some people just are painfully BAD.

How is any of that 'rushing' @Thrasher91604?

Though, i suppose they set a precdent for hurry up and do stuff before it gets nerfed to the ground.

Well you know the word 'rushing' had (and continues to have) a meaning in the English language, separate from MMOspeak, right?

They are doing a great job ? Ok now u will get sets from those dungeons easier ? Only one set from those dungeones is after new patch still BIS - all others are obsolete. Great so u will get gear which is not better than u will get from new zone or crafting. Are u sure that is great ? .
U have new content ? In new zone u have Arena which is solo content but these dungeons are group content - thats completely different ball game. U understand that pve in mmos in general stands for playing in different format of groups . Maelstrom is anything but group play. You can chat on facebook with your buddies about your progression in arena but its not group play.
I agree with one thing u said. Drop rate in ic dungeons was extremely low coz u wanted reward. i am comming to my point here..... for me reward is not gear as such ... for me reward is output i can produce with new gear ... and now asking again - where exactly is that group content where my new gear would make any difference?

you forgot the original (and sometimes lethally glitchy) mannimarco.

because they had terribly designed mechanics which artificially increased the boss fight difficulty.

Also, keep in mind that the challenge of something comes with doing fights efficiently and not necessarily doing them period.

I fully agree with you . Threshold is point where with high dps u can circumvent almost all of mechanics . They nerfed ic dungeons way beyond that point.

It would be nice if they catered to both crowds, kept the original dungeons but named them Hardcore Mode and then kept the nerfed ones as Veteran Mode.

Nerfs are never good, it's a simple fix... but neither is catering to one crowd. You have to try as best you can to walk the line and keep both hardcore gamers and casual ones happy.

How many of you have done vet wgt before and after the patch?
Maybe it is bugged, but for me the first boss was much harder than before. Usually we killed him without issues, but now the tank got pulled into the cages most of the time and I had to spam breath of life as long as someone was in the cage to prevent him from being killed while opening the lock.

The rest of the dungeon, especially the daedroths seemed much easier though.

Nah, the mechanics were great. The problem was most teams couldn't even get to the mechanics because of the overwhelming amounts of damage.

Considering their approach to PvP, I'd say this is a completely casual game.

    Welcome to Elder Scrolls.

Where you will spend most of your time:
    -Picking flowers
    -Looting crates
    -Managing inventory
-Trying to get your horse to climb a mountain
    -Generally not doing anything serious
-Mixing and matching armor until you look awesome.

Elder Scrolls has and always will be only second to The Sims when it comes to casual.

I would imagine that if they did nerf IC, it would be because they've seen how few players are actually going there, so in an attempt to get more players to participate, they reduced the difficulty.
