This would be fun, and have the Dev's take part, show up and lead the events

Whitefall Mountain sled races in December.

Long as it was lore friendly and sensible I would like to see an event. Of course I am aware that they have limited development time so an event would take away from other development.

I came back to GTA 5 to see the Halloween updates, like Slasher gamemode where 1 guy is the Hunter with a shotgun, and 7 others are all hiding in the dark with flash lights. They have to stay hidden for 3 mins unless they all get killed, and if they kill the Hunter (by beating him with their flashlights) or if they stay hidden for over 3 mins, then the 'hunted' get shotguns too! It's fun, but it made me think about ESO, like.. how there's no little mini games relating to holidays like so many other online games...

What Zenimax did for Halloween was honestly the best way to compromise between those wanting a holiday event and those not wanting one due to lore-breaking factors. There will always be at least 2 sides to every topic so compromise is key.

They could have easily set monster versions of the polymorphs loose in the world. Hell, make it a special mages guld vs fighters guild thing. Mages guild spawn the creatures, fighters guilds kill'em.

Yep, a few quests here and there, some decorations...

As for lore, I'm no ES expert so forgive me, but isn't this game set centuries before any of the other stories? They could quite easily write in some kind of Halloween-esque Daedric cult on the loose. Asking for cash from players (ala the cash shop items) isn't a compromise to running an event

Around this time of year we have the following summoning days @Xabien.

Frostfall (October)
8th: Summoning day for Malicath
13th: Summoning day for Mephala

Sun's Dusk (November)
2nd: Summoning day for Boethiah
3rd: Summoning day for a Snake God (I assume an Akaviri God... or Sithis )

My honest fear is ZOS will just use ESO holidays to justify real-world themed events and not try to draw inspiration from the lore to make events.

Yeah, without ZOS there will not be NPCs doing things, and the world itself will not reflect the holiday, but there is absolutely nothing that prevents any group of players from doing something for any holiday, Tamriel or not.

Enterprising social people can even organize events at certain times on certain days in major cities across the map where anyone can come and play. It may not click off perfectly, and yes there may be hecklers, but it can certainly be done.

Yes, this touches on "role playing"...

ZOS will even be happy, deliriously so, to mention it on ESO Live if you can plan it in advance.

What holidays? Whose calendar? I don't even care why nor when halloween is celebrated. Better to pick something more global like midwinter, midsummer and harvest celebrations. No more pop pumpkins.
