Achievement Points [Ideas]

It's been a while since we got the ability to dye our gear depending on our achievement completion. Before the dyes we put in, there was basically no point in going for achievements, apart from 'completionist players', such as me, who aim for conquering all the content and having all these progress bars filled. I love that feel too, you're not weird, lol.

Anyway, Achievement Points themselves aren't any useful to us currently and I wonder if or when they will be. Apart from that, I was thinking what could these points be used for. Share your ideas as I've been wondering for some time myself.

Passives and bonuses that would be preferably PvE only. According to your amount of points, you would unlock slight bonuses that would affect your character as a whole.

250 = Slight increase to experience gained by exploration
500 = Minor increase to movement speed while not mounted
1000 = Reduce the cost of repairing your armor.
2000 = Gain more gold as a reward from completing quests.
3000 = Allow one free teleport to a wayshrine every 30mins/1hr/2hrs and reduce the cost of recalling.

Other options, that especially crafters would find very useful (and everybody else who doesn't like time consuming stuff, so yeah everybody) as they wouldn't have to research new traits on their alts or having to buy motives again.

3500 = From now on, allow every researched trait to be usable on every character you created/will create. [WEAPON TRAITS ONLY]
4000 = From now on, allow every researched trait to be usable on every character you created/will create. [ARMOR TRAITS ONLY]
4500 = All of your currently known blue quality motives will be available for crafting on every character you created/will create.
5250 = Every other character you currently have or will create will start with the same horse training level as your most played character.
6500 = All of your currently known purple quality motives will be available for crafting on every character you created/will create.

Also, an idea that would be appreciated by those, who want to remove veteran ranks to get their alts to V16 faster, but this would require you to put a lot of time into achievements and collecting points.

9000 = Once you reach 9k Achievement points and have at least one veteran rank character (preferably V16), you will be able to create a character, starting from V1.
10000 = Once you reach 10k Achievement points and have at least one veteran rank character (preferably V16), you will be able to create a character, starting from V8.
12000 = Once you reach 12k Achievement points and have at least one veteran rank character (preferably V16), you will be able to create a character, starting from V16.

(I currently have around 7250 points therefore I cannot confirm the maximum amount of points so I was just guessing at the final part, hoping there would be indeed 12k points, if not, the amount of required points would be lowered.)

These are mine ideas that I've been thinking of during yesterday's maintenance, lol.

Today we make our stand. Today we take back the Ruby Throne, which is ours by ancient right and the blessings of the Divines.

Achievements should be account based {corrected}: wide.

No ingame profit after ach numbers: it shouldn't tell you how to play.

Yeah, nah. I disagree. Achievements shouldn't affect actual gameplay in anyway. Now, if there were Motifs you could unlock for completing achievements, such your Alliance Motif for completing the Pact, Covenant, or Dominion Hero achievements, I'd be down with that. Maybe a pet here and there like Razak's Opus already is.

As someone with almost 15000 achievement points and almost nothing truly unique to show for it, I agree completely. All of the nice looking dyes are rather easy to obtain and almost everyone has them. There are no unique mounts to show off the dedication I have to this game, aside from a Tiger Senche for playing since Beta, which exists in the crown store but has dots instead of stripes (really feel appreciated with that one).

There aren't any rare titles anymore, I've seen plenty of Daedric Lord Slayers, Enemies of Coldhabour, and Scythes of Boethiah. The only thing that has any sort of pride behind it is rank 50 in PvP, but the amount of time needed and the lack of enjoyment I get from it make that something I'll probably never get. It'd be nice to see something for having an excessive amount of achievement points or for completing some of the harder achievements like clearing all Hardmode Trials or something. Necrotic Hoarvar would have been a worthy achievement, but everyone who couldn't get it normally just abused the Trap Beast exploit when it was out, totally killing all sense of impressiveness to have.

I don't agree with some of the suggestions provided by OP (as much as I'd love free v16 characters) but some of them would make players feel like they had to get them, rather than offering a totally cool but optional incentive. Mounts, costumes, titles, dyes, and vanity items akin to ones from quests from Public Dungeons would be the safe and easy bet, as they're completely aesthetics, although I'd be all for something that'd push a bit closer to the "you kind of should have this" achievements to call for more player incentive and long term goals, as there aren't many in game "time sinks" that have rewards aside from PvP and Fishing (which bad luck bears if you don't enjoy)

More rewards for achievements? Sounds like a good idea. I for one would love to see a few more titles... maybe once they have barbershop, also some more appereance options to unlock (prison tatoos from justice system achievements? Yes!)
Even advantages gained by reaching a total of achievements sound reasonable. Maaayyybe ot that those low values, one has to rmemeber a good chunk of these achievements comes without effort just by getting through the main story, but... the general notion is worth considering.

    Account wide stuff?
    NOOOOO!
Achievements should be completely character based.
Skyshard achievements need to be character based, to let me chekc which shard this or that character has done, or is missing.
Title achievement should be character based - just because someones uncles cousins fathers former roommate is a master explorer, that doesn't mean they should be able to claim the title without having to do the work themselves. Or for those "its all one player" arguments, just because you work to upgrade that toyota of yours with extra goodies, doesn't mean these extra goodies will automatically appear on every car you drive.
Research and motivs - same, account wide research of any kind is too easily abusable, and people really ought to learn the motivs on their own for thier crafters (like I always mention when the matter comes up, the only thing I really consider should be account-wide-ish is the crown store motiv books - at those prices, buying them once should unlock them to draw as many bound copies as you like, to let all characters lean the motiv...)
Horse training - ditto. (though that one could use some mechanic to store up "training time" during offline times, for people who cannot log in for horse training each day, but play longer times on the weekends...)
Starting alts at higher levels? Hell, no! You'd still have to go through all th quests, if only to make all your quest choices... that would suck with a perpetually overlevelled character. Besides, its bad policy to offer people in a RPG type game a way to bypass all the game - they like it at first, then quickly start complaining about the "lack of content" and leave...

grinding for the achievement is not the most efficient way to increase your XP along the way.

I would be happy enough if that XP "loss" is compensated, once you hit Vet 1, by a % increase of XP, AP and CP gain up to something like 10%.

for example, if you have 50% of max achievements, you get 50% of 10% = 5% faster XP, AP, CP gain.

To keep the balance between PVE and PVP I would like to add:
For people playing 99% of their time in PVP, something similar should be in place, once they hit rank 25, the max of the Alliance Skill tree. The issue for pure PVP players is that after rank 25 or so, there are no benefits anymore up to max rank 50. (only some skill points, but that is similar to the skill points of allll quests in PVE).

for example at rank 37 you get 12/25 of 10% = ca 5% faster XP, AP, CP gain.

Personally,I dont want my achievements to be account wide.I like doing them in different ways with each character. I never tire of them either.
I wouldnt want quests to be account wide either.Same thing.I want to be able to do them everytime I make a new character.Since achievements are part of the game,I like doing them.

That is correct, neither do I. Never mentioned achievement being shared/account wide.
Wonder why is every second post babbling about sharing achievements? I've never spoken a word about, yet it's all over the place in here, lol. Also I asked not to bump this thread as I only linked it for read, oh well.

Ahh,well. Some people just get reminded of other things, and they comment about them is all.
I like the way you have laid things out in your original post.So clearly and reasonable. It would behoove the devs to take a good look, but somehow I dont think they will. Then again, they have added or changed things around that have been asked for recently.

I like the idea of extra mount/costume/skin/collectibles.

I love the idea of a LARGE number of achievements rewarding you with the option of having two active tittles displayed.
e.g. Master Wizard and Master Thief both visible.
#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.
