So far im lv 8, lovin the dk playstyle.. but having issue as to what weapons should i be lvling.. i prefer pvp over pve.. so i have look around and most either go 2h + bow or shield..
Whats some pros and cons of each weapon sets?
Also im more of a pure burst, dmg,i spit fire on your face type guy...
right now im just leveling all my skill tree ( have atleast 1 skill for each tree on skill bar )
if i go shield, do i get more sustain/heals? being able to just run in your face during zergs?
if i go bow, will i be spending most of my time poking you or is bow just for when their fleeing and you need to put dots on them?
How does dual wield work? is it more of a pve leveling spec or its actually does good damage in pvp?
Looking to go far with dk, and wanting a general feedback as what each weapon set does.. watching some videos just tells me how fun dk is, but not exactly talk about the playstyle of each weapon set..
Ty!
btw im redguard full stam build

1. Sword and shield is a staple of the DK arsenal. The sword and shield has reduced cost for blocking, can allow you to block more damage and has some rather great skills for ultimate regen, spell reflection, and an amazing gap closer. The sword and shield fits a tanky playstyle but the recent nerf to stamina regen on block has turned this staple into little more than a crutch for DK. This is not to say that playing a tanky playstyle is by any means subpar but a tougher style to master now that standing your ground against a zerg is often a death sentence if not played smart.
2. Bow is actually very strong range damage. Most select it for the movement speed buff on dodge roll and the great synergy of magnum shot into crit rush. This is my personal go to weapon because it allows you to kite a bit while maintaining some in your face tactics.
3. Dual wield is great for aoe with steel tornado. Under the right circumstances you can use flying blade for some great ranged damage, the major brutality buff, and a bit of snare. The veil of blade skill can be used as a stamina based shield and rapid strikes can provide some great single target damage. The problem with DW is it has great skills in pve because of the utility but unfortunately these skills don't translate exceptionally well into pvp.
I like the 2h + bow combo for those 1vx situations where I want to get some space or I need to engage someone from range and force them to come to me rather than rushing into the zerg. I tend to be in your face but I find that with some of the nerfs in place it's not the smartest way to play when facing a group (unless you have a lot of cp, then you can do what you want as the nerfs are little more than nuisances at that point).

Two handed seems to work better for 1v1, since you can combine a couple skills together to quickly stun and hit hard.
That being said, most PVP isn't 1v1, it's group-based. (As a DK you won't be able to gank like a NightBlade, though you can still have some fun with that once you reach VR16.) When you're fighting in a group against a group, you need a good AOE ability. 2-handed really has no good AOE. Bow has Bombard (an Arrow Spray morph), which uses stamina—if you don't want to use magic-based Talons—and works as an effective immobilizer.
The best stamina-based AOE you can use, though, is Steel Tornadoes (morph of Whirlwind). It does the most damage to the most people.
Take a look at Deltia's DK DPS post for more specifics on a dual-wield + two-handed DK build. I would focus on those two weapon skill lines first. You can always level up Bow more later (and you should, once you have enough skill points, as future patches may again rebalance things.

as a newbie i feel like im overhelm by how vasts the dk are, Im here using 2h picked up a 1h set of swords.. having a ton of fun going back and forth between these two weapons. Will i be having a problem later on as to not having a skill unlock? Im simply asking, how do i go bout leveling a skill trait if i decide to switch over to one? Is it gna take me 1day of grinding or 1hr?
Im lv 10 right now, such a fun class to play.. current setup is 2h for quest bosses/any bosses and dual weild for just killing mobs,exploring,etc..
What level do i focus more on unlocking skills? im thinking of just being 2h + bow during pvp.. since im more of dps than tank
