Just saw the news update logging into the game. Another maintenance tomorrow: PC/Mac North American and European megaservers for maintenance – October 28, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 GMT)?

What actually is maintenance?

I mean, do you just alt-F4 the servers for 10 mins and then reboot or are you tinkering with stuff like hardware or software?

Hardware Upgrades? Sweet Hallelijah! Hopefully they will reduce some of the lag and perhaps even loading screen issues? Either way, I'm glad that the suits in charge are spending $$$ on infrastructure; that's an excellent sign for us all with a long term vested interest in ESO.

^ This. Exactly this. Maintenance used to be done at 8am EDT, why is now 4 hours early and with no explanation as to the time change??

Yay wont get to play two days in a row because i live in australia and have a day job yayyyyyy i love it when i get home from work looking to chill to my fav game and cant because america sleeps at 4:00am. Should do it at 2.am so you at least can get australian prime time. By the time the "maintenance" is done it will be past me bed time again and will have to wait another whole working day. Yayyyyyyy i can do dishes pr something!!

So make them come in even earlier.I know the times suck for you all and i wish it could be fixed but it seems from today and the post Gina made that it will take a while six hours is a decent amount of time if they did it at 8 like they usual then you run into people in the Americas getting home and not being able to log in.

Going into work at 4 AM is hell as it is. I had to do that for one job it sucked asking them to come in 2 hours earlier just WOW. my husband is military and their times are all over the board so I can feel bad. 4 is early enough.I am sorry it effects you though the only compromise would be an Oceanic server but in every game I have played your group is the one shafted by down times. I am guessing it's because that is the time that disturbs the least amount of players it isn't that they hate you it's that down times have always been a tricky balancing act

If this was caused just by the preparation for the next DLC I'm even more worried about how badly the new DLC will break the game.

Yeah, we're getting the raw end of the pineapple on this one, hopefully I'll be able to log in at least once before all the new crown store items are removed....

While I appreciate and understand downtime, would it be too much to ask for a little more notice than the night before pretty much a days downtime?
Some people work, and actually take time off to play ESO. I know a few who are going to be disappointed tomorrow. I mean, surely you must plan these things, so you know when it's going to happen. Why not inform us?

Anyway, good luck with the upgrade and I hope it goes smoothly for both servers (if not, just make sure EU is good to go).

Thankfully I head back to work tomorrow for two days so I won't be missing anymore game time... hopefully there is no unexpected downtime this weekend.

Thank you for responding to this thread and letting us understand the reasons behind today's maintenance. Thank you also for giving us a possible ETA for the length of today's planned maintenance. I really appreciate the insight into why the additional maintenance is necessary and from a personal perspective I find it much easier to be patient when I am given information to help me understand the situation.

Good luck with the maintenance and I hope it all goes smoothly

I too wish to play this game. This is just annoying now. I mean, I can never play it Tuesday nights because of server maintenance. This was the only night I can actually play it this week and now they're saying the server's down for upwards of 6 hours! Six! In Australia that's from 7pm to 1am... that's prime ESO time... I would assume for a lot of people.

I wish we had our own server on this side of the world. I really want to play this game... but Tuesdays and Wednesdays are basically the only times I get to do it... and one of those I can't no matter what. Wish I had of known about their servers before I bought it...
