Do you love playing the game, but are concerned that the game community is dying?

As of late, it has become increasingly difficult to find a group to run dungeons with. Could it be due to the community not being as robust as it use to be?

The community you are referring to is...? What you see here on the forums? What you see in game? What? This term "community" means different things to different players. I for one, play on NA and EU on the PC and there are worlds of differences between in game "community" of those servers, as well as the slew of people who are always here vs who I only know and see in game. It's all relative to perception.

No, it's changing. Many original, knowledgeable and good players have given up and left. Including guide writers, addon makers and other community pillars. That's the sad truth. But new ones have joined, from when they game went b2p and of course console.

So I think the community will stabilize eventually. Right now it's so polarized, almost like we're playing different games, which leads to pointless discussions and friction.

PC NA/EU is still like 6 months ahead when it comes to pretty much everything, including meta, PvP problems, builds and CP.

Than you have all these clueless new consolers who never meet a 900+ CP sorc in full VR16 legendary gear, lecturing you about "l2p issues" :joy:

Or the guys claiming "there are no Steel Tornado trains". Again, solid proof we're not playing the same game.

PC players telling consolers "l2p" because they cant speed run vICP with 70 CP and clunky controller interactions and non existent UI. Just because guys with 500+CP, TS and every addon available can.

When gameplay on all platforms becomes more standardised and with simliar problems and content to overcome, I think the community will improve.

Not sure how to answer. I dungeon delve with my wife and another couple. It has become, hands down, my favorite way to play ESO. Any other group activity i encounter is gravy.

What others are doing? Meh. It's a game. As long as the 4 of us have interesting group content I don't much care.

Who cares about the PC community? Lol, seriously though I don't see why any whom owned a PC, with ALL the options out there, you wouldn't be all over the place.

That and consoles always bring in more money, and therefore have a stronger influence on product releases etc, should have a larger base (also imo allowing PC transfers is more proof of trying to move the market towards console (which would make sense in a survivability move))

Tons of players have moved away from ESO (I only add xbox friends from eso and Neverwinter and only 2 still play neverwinter and only like 5 still play eso out of 30) but these are the same players that got to level 5 and decided to stop, even if they still played today there is no way they will be here in a year.

I just look at in game population. I always see players, even at 4 a.m. I'm not concerned with the population, like the person said before me, just going through the people that have decided to just try the game rather than dedicating the hundreds of hours to making a lasting character

To the people that find fault or are tired of the game it is dying.

To those of us who enjoy putzing about, it's not dying.

I could care less if I see 400 or no players.

-So far, I haven't gotten the urge to come back to the game.
To me, there are to many things that are broken. -But I am still lurking, since it is a new game, and the nature of the fluidity of a mmo, things might eventually turn for the better.
The game is pretty, but if mechanics is fubar'ed, I'll stay away. Pretty graphics is not what is important to me.

    Not concerned at all.

Game seems to be flourishing on PS4 NA.

Doomsaying is just par for the course on a MMO Official Forum. happens to every game.

someone on a forum always has 6,000 guild members who all quit at the same time specifically because *insert minor feature* wasn't added to the game.

Not really... when you believe something to be broad, you hone in on what is relative to you. It doesn't really matter what you think I mean. All that matters is how you perceive the question, and then answer it accordingly. Otherwise that would be like me asking you how old you are and then you rebuttal, 'Do you mean in actual years or in spirit? Because people consider their age differently. You see... I may look 40, but I'm 20 at heart. Or you're only as old as you look and act.' So now a 40 year old man is 5, because he wants to incorporate every concept of viewing age to me. Let's keep it simple.

If we are in two different locations on a map, without either being in view of each other. I can't ask you how things look from where I'm standing because you're not here with me. So the only thing left is to tell me how things look from where you are. In this case that is whatever server you currently play on. It doesn't matter where, as long as it's all ESO.

Eventually I may discover that EU (where you might be playing) it's bustling with life, and now I know I should go there if I want more action; but if I restrict you to only tell me about NA where I already play... I can't learn anything new except that maybe I should run in your circle and that you see the same server differently from me.

Same s**t different day. Group finder has been broken since launch pretty much, add that to absurdly long load times , guild bank issues along with not being able to get any answers other than automated responses with tickets it will be a surprise if this game last another 6 months if previous problems are not fixed.

You log back onto WoW so I'm assuming you are talking about the rep eso carries there. If that's the case I can't take your statement serious. Because... you know... you log back onto WoW.

All these answers are good to know. I realize that if there is no prospect of a game surviving... players aren't going to want to invest time and concern in to caring about a character they will soon no longer be able to play because servers are shut down.

Just like everyone else already said, it's stabilizing. ESO is one of the best mmorpg out there right now. It could be better tho. Just my opinion and not trying to argue with anyone, but I believe the 5 guild system, guild traders, and lack of chat box hinders a community. I found the 20 people I like to play with and is hard to find anyone else because I personally stay out of area chat because of childish individuals. So if it feels like the community is dieing to you, maybe it's because people like me only group with a few people.

Waiting for them to bring PvP to this game instead of AoE capped zergball crap.
Cyrodiil was great once upon a time
If your group is bigger than 6 members gain 75% damage reduction.

Write this on the back of your box and see how many sales you get!

You won't get any new PvP players until this archaic AoE crap is fixed.
I for one won't resub until:
    1.) You fix lag.
2.) You remove AOE caps we voted against.
3.) 12 months have passed (this is how long we've waited for you to 'get with it')[/b]

Yes, I'm concerned that the current community is dying (at least to some degree). That doesn't mean the game will die. We've already seen the community killed off several times and new players and new guilds replace them eventually. I just don't care for the turnover.

Don't think it's dieing but with how ZOS is handling the balancing right now I can see how it would effect some players from possible buying it or getting to involved with it.

...you do know that there's a population tracker for those PC players using steam (and running the game under steam)???

This needs best possible group-finder, I propose, special item to make requests, when request is put on, every player sees it on their UI, those who help, get reward. So basically community deals with the requests as they come. Requests could be anything from low levels dolmens/public dungeons/world bosses to Craglorn's quest/trials/dsa/dungeons, to Cyrodil's gank and siege raids or IC.
