I agree, but an alternative offline mode needs to be introduced fast, everybody is getting tired of weekly downtime, especially eso plus paid members.
An offline mode. In an MMO. Yeah, OK, if you want to see people who have hacked their characters to be absolute god mode.UltimaJoe777 wrote: »Maintenance is necessary to keep the servers running. If this maintenance is going to fix some of the lags we've been getting lately I'm all for it. Last week's maintenance didn't do jack [snip], it was alright for the first 2 hours, then the lag came back as per usual.
And then Americans wonder why people have a bad opinion of them...nordsavage wrote: »medieval_TOG wrote: »Umm, the point is that is our night-time here, our prime time (so no sun for us even at this time of day). It was fine when it was Monday night, but moving it Tuesday night and with a start time of 7pm (5am EDT) means that for all of us, that is one whole night gone.
Could you imagine the screams if they had maintenance on a US evening?
Then go play on the Australian servers . . . oh that's right this game was made and is maintained by us Americans. Sorry dude go play with a kangaroo.
In response to the OP....
The past couple of weeks of the changed time for scheduled maintenance has definitely thrown a spanner in the works. Here in Vic we already started DST and so scheduled maintenance would start at 11pm Monday night. That worked well.
But, as the OP pointed out, the last couple of weeks it has shifted to Tuesday night our time which is around 8pm AEDST. Additionally, the maintenance, while usually only being an hour or so seems to going 5-6hrs or longer. I dunno, can't stay awake that bloody long.
It has been implied on other threads in the forum that this change in schedule and the time involved is as a result of preparation for Orsinium. Well, considering that Orsinium is only available on the PTS I fail to see how that impacts maintenance on either of the PC megaservers.
Like the OP, I pay for sub and I am now effectively losing 1 night's gameplay each week because of change to server maintenance schedule. Where is the kickback to compensate for the loss or at the very least an explanation of why we are getting royally screwed on game time.
To those that think Australia/NZ/Oceania only represent a small proportion of players, I would argue strenuously that ZOS would soon notice if we were all to cancel our subs.
Frankly I am getting sick of tired of getting the rough end of the stick. Entire game was sent into FUBAR mode after IC was released and nothing ZOS has done since seems to have addressed lag and loading issues. If not for the fact that I love Elder Scrolls so much I would have ditched this stress-inducing, frustration-fest of a MMO months ago.

I can guarantee the EU or US playerbase is a lot bigger than the Aus one.
It sucks for you, but it's how it is.
There's not much more to say

@Umad_BrO speak for yourself.....I'm a plus member for over a year and a half and I don't care lol never have. What I do care about is that they never fix anything and every day I remember why my subscription is utterly useless.....
I can guarantee that the Oceanic player base is bigger than the US player base at 5am. IF the maintenance was pushed back by two hours, we could have two hours more of time to play in the evenings and hardly any US players would be impacted. Some common sense, mate.I can guarantee the EU or US playerbase is a lot bigger than the Aus one.

I would like to know from those complaining: when should ZoS schedule these maintenance windows?
Keep in mind: this is a US-base server, whose vast majority of users are in US-based time zones, where the peak hours are from 5PM EST to around 2AM EST (give or take).
Also, keep in mind any answer you give that isn't "the hours they're using now seem impact the least amount of people" will make you look like an ass.
So, when?

So why not have an Oceania megaserver?

I would pet it, and feed it, and call it George.
Lol, did you also know they have huge sharp claws, smell to high heaven and drown your dogs in dams? (They jump into the middle of dams, which are water catchments on farms, lure your dog in and hold it under the water).
Trust me... you don't want a Kangaroo

So has ZOS explained anywhere why it changed from times that worked OK to times that screw Oceanic players?
