So, will there ever be a faction lock on user accounts?

Personally I think it should be 1 faction per account. The game has been out long enough now to create any race in any faction although again, it offers some uniqueness if certain races can only play for certain factions. It'd provide a sense of something to fight for. Personally I am DC only.

- It is lame when people play on all 3 and log onto whichever toon controls the map to grind easy xp/ap/sewers.
- It is also lame when people sit in zones with a level 10 character relaying chat to their guild.
- It is also lame when you have a level 10 out of stealth following you healing and highlighting your whole group to the enemy.

I think you should do it Zos. Think of the money you can make making people pay 2,500 crowns to transfer factions. OMGZ you will be rolling in it. Make it happen.

This would be a bad, bad idea, and would probably cost the game thousands of players that would have characters deleted if implemented.

Many, maybe even most, people have toons in multiple factions. I seriously doubt that Zeni would introduce a change that would penalize them, just because a handful of people are turds in pvp. And with a faction lock, those people would find other ways to be turds, it's just how they are.

Dark Age of Camelot was 1 account 1faction and was great so all the haters above, u seem quite foolish, taking pride and supporting ur side was amazing even an underpopulated side would get respect for coming out and they werent zerged, but what was the OP thinking suggesting this in a game where the community will see a 1v1 and 8 more people jump in and then teabag the dude. Right?

Just like the skill point reset, players get a choice to move all their toons to one faction. Sorted. Once there if they change their minds they can pay to move.

I agree Reverb. It is such a shame factions need to cheat to win and I'm not denying DC does it, it happens everywhere.

Issues raised are entirely PvP issues so any solution should only affect PvP, eg whilst your AD character is in a PvP campaign your DC and EP characters can't be in campaigns.

Will they ever make the game only accessible to players who really really have to pee? Like badly?

I always seem to start a dungeon, or something I can't get out of, and end up playing the last half while having to pee so bad I can barely concentrate. I think it's unfair that other people are allowed to play with a comfortably empty bladder.

Not really... why do they have cadwell silver and cadwell gold quest lines? So you can play the other factions quests.

Maybe that is one possibility. If you have an AD toon in a campaign, you can only use AD toons in campaigns. That would be a fair compromise.

As it is now, you can have your AD toon in 1 campaign and join a DC guild in another to spy on for your other guilds. Having 5 guilds IMO create a semi-problem as well.

There are very few people that do that. Mainly because if you're running a group in Cyrodiil they'll be using the group chat or TS instead of the guild chat to relay information.

*Edit* On a serious note about this point, what you said is true... players will get steamrolled and instead of fighting on, just remake on the winning faction. At least if they had to restart/pay/delete their DC toons they might think twice about doing so

Deal, but only if...

-you can guest in other faction's server-zones (be unable to do most quests/interact with most NPC's except merchants), in other words, be an emissary
-they don't remove the ability to be any race/any alliance (still purchasable from crown store)
-cadwell's silver and gold still exist so one account can still experience the other storylines

Yep and DAOC is still around and still has a sub, I wish ESO would have stuck a little closer to DAOC model in this area, being able to have different faction toons in the same campaign, kinda kills the spirit of the three faction warfare, no faction loyalty no campaign loyalty, I think this is where ESO pvp really fails at least in my book, I still have fun in pvp but it sure would be better if we had more players that cared about the campaign and faction they were in, people would fight harder and not tuck their tails between their legs and run to an easy mode campaign when the going gets a bit tough.

So,

My main guild could be Rage that homes Trueflame but our allies missfits are home in Azura (examples),
I can join Chuck that homes azura so once both our guilds control Trueflame I can log my DC toon in chuck to tell my mates where chuck is.

Both extreme examples, I'm not accusing either but you get what I'm saying. Once a faction controls a map they usually go to the next one, if they not homed in it, they don't need to earn AP for it.

I've been in a group before when DC had an enemy spy in an EP keep and was telling us where they were moving. I left instantly as what is the point in that?

Total scumbag play.

100% agree although maybe only being allowed to play 1 faction in pvp per account would be better.... and even then it could be tied to the changing of a campaign. so if I wanted to switch id either pay ap or wait for the current campaign to end so I could log over and choose a new home campaign.. just a idea but either way faction hopping is a issue that kills pvp for me. oh this guy wants to spy so he logs out and over to his ep toon ...oops we are in his favorite factions keep he logs out and over to his dc toon (blames it on a disconnect issue) kills our group with his dc buddies then logs back over to his ep toon says sorry I got dc'd and continues to spy. and yes this happens don't even lie about it the offline option is every spies friend.

Wouldn't work since ZOS put three crafting stations in Imperial City. Example, I PvP for DC because that's what my main PvP guild is but my crafter is EP because that's where I started the game.

first: i agree with you. i only ever play on one faction.

BUT: i do it because i personally like it better this way. for me its more fun if i have my steady enemies, that i can hate, despise, surprisingly like sometimes and most of the times fight against.
its part of the gameplay for me. i can not imagine playing on another side suddenly - i also try to avoid the other faction areas (never finished cadwells silver) -can be hard sometimes the game forces you to (cadwells again, guild traders, specific spots to level up, achievements to gain).

I play one faction.
I enjoy that.
Its fine for me.
Don't force me to play another faction.
Don't force others to decide for a faction.
You like all factions.
Play all factions.
Live and let live.

First add dueling.

I'm fine with 1 account 1 faction. I like it even. Except one thing it's great being able to fight against friends. I rolled an EP toon 2 weeks ago. It started as an accident, but I went through with it. It's turned out to be a great move. I get to battle/duel with all the people I've been playing with for the past year +.

I've played faction-based games where the account can only house 1 faction, and it ends up being a farce anyway. There are always spies, no matter what. People with lots of money to make new accounts and lots of time to play games or people quit the game and give their accounts away and someone always manage to find their way and create spy characters that way. It's part of the dynamic.

Aside of the political challenges, I feel that it is fun to have a character from each faction and level up through their areas. Makes it interesting and fun.so I like the way it is set up now.
