Curious....why did CP's get a catch up program but VR levels did not?

I appreciate and recognize the slight reduction in exp required for VR and also appreciate the exp gains provided but I'm curious because now what occurs in PvE is a situation where I'm jumping from less than 60 CP's to 100 very, very quickly but where my VR exp, tho better than pre IC, I'm still low and therefore experiencing an awkward CP progression but having a more stagnant feeling with VR.

Let me explain.....
Many of us prior to this CP change use to focus more on our CO movement cause VR exp is still very, very slow but now the cp goes a lot faster to the point where it makes the VR exp seem even slower.

I'm not suggesting to do anything with the cp changes as those are good.
I'm only asking why CP and not CO and VR?

More of just curious....I know the VR's are suppose to be removed but I'm getting some doubt after seeing how some are saying that VR18 will come before VR is removed. Then you have the battle leveling for PvE, dungeon finder and now Orsinium. You're bumping us up circumstantial so why not do both cp and VR's.

Again....just curious

No it takes the same amount of exp to hit max vr16 it's just less exp per VR level.
It's not a catchup system compared to the cp catch-up system where the issue was both CP and high VR chara were significantly stronger.

Now with PvP things are better but PvE there still lies the big gap in VR's

Again....curious why CP catch up omitted a VR catch up because with Orsinium VR best in class this becomes a concern

I'm not sure of the reductions you mention. I've kept good tabs on patches and primarily now play on Xbox one other than PTS on PC. This time last year vet exp took a ton to gain and around this time they finally changed vet exp to normal exp but there's only been one reduction of exp which is offset by adding more and more vet levels and removing exp gains from most grind spots.

Can you please summarize these reductions with dates please?

VR levels will stay so they can sell xp scrolls. We have come to terms with it. 2.2 was supposed to be vr18 people already found the items that said so. If you want real change to happen buy zeni online off guy banned for life from being a banker.
This recent update has made me sad. Sad for the game. Sad for the community. Sad to pay whatever it is now. I want the previous eso back.

Patch 1.7/2.1 (Imperial City) reduced the amount of XP to progress a Veteran rank from 1,000,000 XP to 850,000. A 15% reduction of XP required from v1-v16, as well as buffing quest rewards and increase of XP from Delves and Craglorn.

This was specifically referenced in my original post ....and it's why I'm asking because of you reduce exp required and boost exp gained for things but also add more levels, the changes are offset. The bonuses stop at vr12-14 assuming someone hasn't done those already you can't quest faster so to speak but now you gain CP's at a rediculous expedited rate until 100-150 so my curiosity is why from VR1-vr4 or vr5 was a similar change not applied?

    From 1.1.2 patch notes:
Additionally, the veteran XP earned from killing enemies has more than doubled.

    From 1.5 patch notes:
It takes 1,432,550 Experience Points to gain a Veteran Rank. We expect this to greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to gain a Veteran Rank.

    From 1.6.5 patch notes:
One Veteran Rank is currently 1,000,000XP

    From 2.1.4 patch notes:
we’ve made some adjustments so you can progress through Veteran Ranks more rapidly:
15% decrease in the amount of XP it takes to gain a Veteran Rank
100% more XP for all public dungeons
50% more XP for all Veteran Rank quests
    20% more XP in Craglorn

So it's much faster to get to max level now compared to when the game launched.

    It's the same.

At launch the max was VR 10 and then soon VR12 in May.

Looking at your patch notes it took more than12 mil to reach max VR10 before the first change. Let's say 18 mil of exp
After that change it took 16.8 mil to hit VR 12
Later it took 14 mil to hit VR 14
Then the last update it takes 13.6 mil to hit VR 16

Yes it's a smaller number but again...as I posted...considering all this and the catch up CP system, I'm curious why VR was excluded. CP have had reductions too with adding exp acrolls and englightenment but CP still had a cap added and a very generous reduction of exp according to the chart.

As my OP reads....considering this....why were VR's left off?

Maybe they didn't change it too much to still fit to the questing zones? I've allready seen players complain that they are overleveled while just doing quests and not grinding at all.
If you would greatly reduce the xp needed to get v1-5 then you would have many v8-10 players standing in cadwells silver and complaining that they get really low xp because they are 5 levels above their enemies.

Your comment is extreme considering you seem to assume people are asking for things to be given to them.
ZOS decided to give CP's at an increased rate to combat with PvP feedback and PvE leaderboard feedback. Whatever the reason is they did this, it omits part of the problem which is Vet levels.

Just so you're clear...I'm almost VR16 on my main and others are at diff VR levels. It's not a request to get something without working for it but a logic question of why one was drastically changed but not the other considering the known concerns.

Leveling does not need a catch up system. Saying that, if you want to level fast go to the sewers, I've gone from VR1-16 in about a week of grinding there.

Them introducing an entire zone that scales the players properly is the first step and a good testing ground for it to happen. I would expect VR levels to be gone at the latest in DB but I believe it's going to be with TG instead.

Well, it is actually quite simply. The CP catch-up system is there because long term players have a gameplay advantage over new players or casual players, that is also why they are installing a CP cap. The levelling process is exactly the same for everyone. They are two separate things. The champion point system is supposed to be the continued advancement after you hit the max level, this way max level players can still feel like they are getting stronger.

As my OP reads....considering this....why were VR's left off?

When v12 and v14 first came out, we were still on veteran experience for gaining levels. It was millions of xp per level. I remember to go from v13 to v14, it was around 13 million xp for one level. VR 12 was around 12 million xp. Then when they made everything experience, that is when it went to the lower levels. But again during this time, VR levels was a forever increasing amount of xp. Also you didn't automatically gain the first level like a lot of people did for IC.

When it was lowered to 1.4 mil exp in 1.5, it took 18.6 million exp to go from vr1 to vr 14. Then it was lowered to 1 mil xp per level making it 13 mil exp to go to max level from vr1. Now its 12.75 million to get v16. So not the same but close to the previous number.

But again it used to be a huge pain to get levels unless you were grinding bosses, or when you could bug out certain bosses in Craglorn. Now it is insanely easy to get levels. I PVP'd three characters to v16, two were from v14, 1 was v12. Did them all really fast. There really doesn't need to be a catchup mechanic for VR levels when it's already fast to get them. You can easily argue that all of these lowering is the catchup mechanic.

People already complain how they outlevel VR zones as is and want a way to turn off the extra xp from the sub. Adding a catchup mechanic would just have them blow through those levels even faster.
