Wanting to play again got a few questions

kad01121ub17_ESO
So when ESO first came out i bought the game and joined a guild and got to level 11 with my charter. Then i felt like my guild left me in the dust and was playing alone and given im no avid hardcore gamer i left ESO. Now i see its come out with unlimited gameplay and i still have the ESO launcher on my desktop. So do i update the launcher and then be able to play? or do i need to update the game here on the webpage?

Your PC client will update or patch the existing PC game from ESO to ESO TU.
You can then jump online and play after all updates have occurred.

I'd strongly suggest reading at least the last two PC patch notes here on the forums as a lot has changed.

    Mostly for the good tho

Yeah I personally don't get why people just want to rush through the game. This game is more The Elder Scrolls than it is an MMO so why rush through it? I enjoy taking my time and even though I am VR6 with no real effort in trying to power level myself all I can say without a doubt is leveling is too easy in this game and rushing to VR16 would only ruin my experience more than benefit me. Sadly as a Guildmaster I do have obligations to keep up with my Guild Members who zip on by and I do not approve of that so I do attempt to progress on my main but not at lightning speed.

I think it's good that we can join multiple guilds. I'm in a roleplay guild, a couple of trading guilds and a couple of PvP guilds and I enjoy them in different ways.

I've also hung out with friends - skype or teamspeak makes grouping with buddies in other states very enjoyable.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I'm in 3 guilds and we barely speak. Most of my social activity comes from the people on my friends list that I met during random encounters. It's good to build that list up if your guilds ever go quiet and you're not a social outcast like me that doesn't enjoy the company of others.
Good luck to you, and welcome back. I hope it works out better for you this time round.

Problem with that though is it means there is no guild pride to represent the one and only guild you care for.

I did try that early on; but I only have about 3 friends who roleplay the same extended clan/family, and that's not enough to make a guild. So yes I join them, but thats never going to be where my primary allegance/energy is.

I will always belong to my guild and only to my guild. Joining other guilds to me is an insult to my guild's legacy. That's just me though but sometimes I do believe this system leads to people not caring enough about many guilds and thus usually joining Trader Guilds thus leaving many other guilds rather empty.

Yes i agree with you on leveling up really fast and leaving everyone else behind. Its why when i first started elder scrolls i had no idea what i was doing, i hated how my Avi was slow in combat and died alot and when i had my guild helping me they would level past me and leave me in the dust. Thats why i left ESO in the first place. This time im hoping to change that :)
