A Ridiculously Long Feedback Post About New Item Sets (Orsinium Patch)

Trinimac's Valor: Good 2, 3, 4 bonuses. I am conflicted about this set, much like I was conflicted with Spell Power Cure and Combat Physician. A 10% chance to proc when giving players a damage shield resulting in healing/damage is obviously very strong in this meta (barrier anyone?) Still, the damage and healing procced are extremely low, and this set suffers from cooldown-itis (3 second cooldown to proc a 1 in 10 chance to do 4000 healing/damage?).

    @ebethke_ESO

Trinimac's Valor could be a decent set but there is one major flaw with it. The aoe healing/damage has a very very small radius. From what I can see it almost appears to be a radius of like 4m. This set is therefore useless unless you multi-box lmao. It's like zos want us to stack in the tightest ball as possible. :p

That, and the fact that the heal/damage seems delayed as well. So it has both of those going against it, which is a shame since I really enjoy the unique feel of that bonus.

I tried a bit around iwth Winterborn today - it has a 3 second cooldown I think (wich should be in the tooltip, but no surprise anyway). The radius is too small though, when I pull ~20 mobs it adds 2-3k dps, wich is insignificant when I already do several 10k and I alreay commit to using frost spells, wich I'd never do otherwise.
If the radius was bigger though, I could see it being more useful when fighting many enemies.

The cooldown is really disappointing. The chance is already low enough and as you said, you commit to using a frost staff.
This set might deserve a buff in one way or another, increase radius, proc chance or remove the cooldown.

From what I noticed with the winterborn set I could not notice a cooldown, though that could just be from having enough targets to reliably proc it. I would need to double check but if it does have one, from what I recall it couldn't have been that big.

I used CLS with timestamps and didn't get any procs within less then 3 sec after the last one, while reliably procing it. Would be nice if you'd check that as well of course.

Once I get some time I will again, but you're probably right.

Stack on crown! :P Also thank you for the info, I hadn't personally tested the radius of the set, I will add it to the listing.

Seems again, just like with leeching set, people underestimate usefullness of pariah set.

Pariah is bad. ~4k at 50% hp.

As Ishammael posted, the problem with the set (in my opinion) is the scaling. Sets like armor master would be a better way to go about getting high resistances.

I've messed around with Morkuldin and Briarheart for potentially good synergy with my Werewolf build.

First off the Morkuldin set damage in the tooltip is incorrect. It says 3.5k damage on tooltip but consistently hits for 2.5k. I also found that it has two separate attacks, a light attack that can hit up to two enemies and a cleave that I have seen hit up to eleven enemies at once (though the cleave damage is around 1.5k). I also think that while this set is nice, it suffers from the Undaunted Daedroth Helm's problem, the fact that the spawned entity is slow, only lasts 15 seconds and doesn't have a high enough proc chance. 10% on light attacks is extremely low and for what it offers at the moment it should be 20% proc chance in my opinion. It has a decent 2,3,4 piece bonus at least..
Sidenote: If you want to craft this set when Orsinium goes Live, keep in mind that it is barred behind a quest, to find the quest go to the Morkul Stronghold.

The Briarheart set is extremely nice and is essentially Hunding's Rage with a different 5 piece effect. The tooltip doesn't mention that it procs off all crits, so this might be unintentional or just a spelling error. Personally I think if it didn't proc off of heals it might not be that great as it's a 15% chance, unless you have a lot of dots. The math behind the proc chance (per attack / dot) is essentially: (your crit chance e.g. 0.51) x (0.15) = in this example that would be 0.0765 or 7.65% chance to proc on every attack. Now the thing with Briarheart is that at first glance it seems extremely overpowered, but the heal it gives is pretty weak and it is essentially like swapping out the comfort of Hunding's Rage always giving a set amount of weapon damage for a set that has a chance to give more on crits, if you can't proc Briarheart or have a low crit chance, then it's a wasted 5 piece.
Sidenote: It is should be easy to find set pieces for this:
World bosses in Orsinium now have a small chance to drop an item from the Mark of the Pariah, Trinimac's Valor, and Briarheart item sets.

Treasure chests at VR15+ also have a small chance to drop an item from the Mark of the Pariah, Trinimac's Valor, and Briarheart item sets, at Veteran Rank 15 or rarely Veteran Rank 16.

Treasure Maps that uncover a VR15+ treasure chest will always grant an item from the Mark of the Pariah, Trinimac's Valor, and Briarheart item sets, at Veteran Rank 15 or rarely Veteran Rank 16.

I agree that BH should not be proccing on heals. Doesn't seem to be the intent behind the set (says critical DAMAGE)

Since I discovered BH was a complete set (including jewelry) I also saw the potential of 5 piece HR + 5 piece BR w/ 2 daggers (thinking about either 2 master or agility....idk atm). Only problem I found is, what do you pair with BH with the template gear to simulate HR?

I was sadly not too impressed with the proc rate myself (which might be because of my flawed gear set up) If it doesn't proc off heals (which it should not) and only weapon attacks then I would say the set should be boosted to 15-20% chance

Nah BH is going to be good even if it doesnt proc with hots. which it shouldn't (would be too powerful for PvP ganking), but once up the critical hits that trigger the thorns healing will still proc with stamina hots like hemorrhage does for NB. http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/223183/rally-proc-nb-passive-intentional#latest. so a nice boost to all stamina hots.

i think the most powerful thing about the set is you can get jewlery and armor. So you can throw in say a crafted set of hundings rage, or night mother or twice born star with thief+shadow. depending on content/character. and any one can be using it effectively then.

id be interested to see it though on a non NB classes like a stam DK using flames of oblivion and all the poison bow/ardant flame dots to probably get 66% up time. i dont know if the thorns heal has a delay or if it is literately every critical hit. If its every critical that heals for 600 health, between dots and hots critical hitting during the up-time I think you could be pretty hard to kill in those ten seconds.

How long is the bonus on element successor?

Does crushing shock proc the bonus always since its damage from 1 of the three elements?

Are these sets bind on pick up? Or tradable? Is the jewelry rare?

    Good list.

Briarheart is absolutely, positively insane right now. The new meta will be:
Briarheart, hundings, and daggers. Spin to win, while healing yourself and doing outrageous damage.

The fact they would even put a set like that in game is just......honestly...why would you even put something like that in game...
