What??? Where are you getting the misconception that having text chat means you have to play using a keyboard & mouse?
I honestly love ESO. Even with the bugs and balancing issues, I think it's the greatest mmo made yet. There are a couple of other complaints I have with the game but we won't get into that here. Text chat doesn't mean you have to lay down your controller and start playing with a KB&M. Hell if you don't want anything to do with it, turn it off and keep playing as you are, but for a lot of us long time mmo players, text chat is a key component of any mmo, no matter what platform it's being played on.

Now to the OP. Whatever is most comfortable and fun for you. Who cares what anyone else says.

That isn't what I meant. What I meant is text chat is there on PC because you already use a keyboard and mouse to play. On consoles you'd have to plug one in to use text chat properly, otherwise it's no different than what ESO on consoles use now.

Well me and thousands of other console mmo players already do it and have been for several years, on console.
I should reiterate a sentence from the previous post. If you don't want to use it, turn it off and keep playing as you are now. Its that EZ.

To answer the question about regulars on console, I'd say there is a higher ratio of "casuals" on consoles, but there is the same level of hardcore min maxing on console as well. It's just harder to get our information than on pc.

I will never use consoles, because:

-addons
-text chat
-TS3
-my PC is able to give me visuals you could only dream of as a console player (all effects on ultra+, almost ultra HD resolution by Nvidia DSR = Dynamic Super Sampling Resolution). Imagine you have at last a MMO that delivers some nice visuals (which is a rare event concerning MMOs) and you don't use them ? Being able to shift your screen over to a 50'' TV display while the resolution still remains at "just" HD (1920 x 1080) is not even comparable to playing in resolutions of WQHD and above.

You are even able to "mod" the game by using SweetFX.

I admit, that the controls of consoles might make a difference, if you are used to them. I never played console games much, I am used to keyboard and mouse.

Surprisingly this MMO has a remarkable base of solo or mostly solo players and therefore for them console gaming might be an option. I do 4-men and 12-men group content on a daily/weekly base, without addons, text chat and TS3 my manner of playing this game would be seriously limited.

Matter of taste and personal playstyle really...and not worth to clutter the whole general forum with threads like that.

I like the default UI too, the only add ons I use are the ones that mark skyshards and lorebooks on my map (Never been one to root around for stuff).
But the lack of text chat puts me off the console version.

I left pc and addons as they kinda ruined the game master merchant removed any source of sales in the game everyone just undercut the next guy til 100k item was 100g everyone ran it so they devalued itinto the dirt. On co sole you have to shop around may find item dor 100k here 80k there 10k here etc it made the shopping worth it and if your the seller made it possible to make gold.
Also no dmg viewer addon means I'm not getting spammed with what's ur dps hmm not high enough boot from party bull crap I used to hear.
I don't have to listen to guys say uggggh my game crashed I need to try disabling 199/250 add ons to see if my game will work. Also for most part everyone is even in console specs aside from internet connection there's no performance disparities between systems if one guy has this bug everyone does there for it gets reported by everyone and gets fix rather than going in circles with tech suppor asking what's your mother board model what's ur gfx card what's the ram etc did you try turning it off and back on bull.
Gfx take a slight hit and benefit. I noticed a certain shading lighting effect in pc made all female characters look like they had a peachfuzz moustache or made their faces almost glow with that not on console they look so much better.
Also a lack of start up errors and crashes pc one could not work just cuz you logged on to fast

I played PC since beta and loved it. Then I played the PS4 beta and knew right away that I was making the jump. To me, console feels better. The lack of add-ons is a good thing IMO.

The pc master race will always try and bully console owners...it makes them feel better when they look at the $2000 outstanding on their credit card bill after the latest round of upgrades.

Don't worry, you can buy a car with the money you saved and still play the same game as them
