Do 5 Whitestrake and 4 Deathwind.
The role of a tank is to taunt and absorb damage. The shield that procs will act like additional health, and also gives a very visual warning when HP is low. There is no way for a tank to regen enough to make a difference and healing is a healers role, so go for straight HP in the Deathwind as the backup.
You will never hear a group complain they died because the tank did not have enough regen but you will hear that the tank died due to lack of HP to heal or take a crit hit.
This combo will add 3x max HP, 1x each HP regen, armor, and spell resist.
I dont tank & need some help in deciding what to craft for a VR2.
The last tank I crafted for was a VR6 who wanted 5 x armour in Hist Bark plus 2 x armour, a sword, board & 2H in Alessia's Bulwark.
I do not know this players race, play type of pvp/vet dungeons/etc or if mag or stam. (awaiting a reply)
I do know they want 2 swords, 2 boards & all armour in heavy.
What I need advice for is -
Would Whitestrake's Retribution or Song of Lamae be a better choice than Hist Bark after all the nerfs?
If replacing Hist Bark which set would be better off for the bonus?
Should I use Defending trait on the swords as well as the boards?
I am limited to max 6 trait sets though. (7th sword trait is under research but the IC set is not an option anyway)
I appreciate any info on this & it will help me next time as well.

I would go with infused on large pieces and diviens on small to up your resources and then defending on sword.
@Flaminir The client is very happy with his crafted gear. I havnt even made glyphs for him yet & he reckons its 10 times better than what he was using.
Thank You.
