I still can't believe people get worked up about this... it was also surprising zos didnt just send a damn free respec scroll to everyone.

Im convinced the folks at zos just enjoy trolling folks from time to time :p

Since Orsinium content is "balanced" for those with 3-400 CP and the average player has around 90, and you need certain builds to be able to get past the first main quest boss, they definately SHOULD offer a free total respec this time.

    Still bent about that boss?

Just to confirm, we will not be having a skill respec for the Orsinium DLC.

Will there be a choose for PC players with 8 characters that are not willing to pay to respec for all 8 characters because of power/game mechanics change. It's not reasonable to force PC players to pay 12k per character for a respect that changed the game.

Forcing PC players to pay nearly or more then 100k (depending on Skill point count) cause console players can't remember which powers and passive they use is not reason be make shelf my alts just cause of the cost of respecting all my builds that's 12k for power changes and 3k flat rate for CP changes (CP and builds go hand and hand).

Why pay 120k to fix all my characters builds after a change is never going to happen for me they can be pack mules.

Ah yes, you've got to love the people who simply aren't capable of seeing anything from any point of view other than their own. I wouldn't expect anything else from you, though, to be perfectly honest. Your posting history is clear. Everyone needs to do things the exact same way that you do, or they're WRONG.

So I'd like to ask @i3ig_Gun how many characters do you have? How long did it take you to do your forced respec? Would you care to take the time to do a full forced respec on 16 characters, each with 150-300 skill points, every time there's a big patch?

Of course I fully expect that your reply will be that people are WRONG to have more than one character...

    More QQing.
More proof that you aren't capable of seeing anything beyond your narrow viewpoint. Again, though, that's what pretty much every single post I've ever seen from you is, so I really shouldn't be surprised...

You do realize that ZOS did not give console players any in-game information about the mandatory IC respec and this was why there was confusion, right? The only information console players had about the IC respec was a pinned post in the forums.

Personally, I think a free respec is a great benefit to the players, you just have to commuicate with them or make it optional.

The console situation with the first respec really is another good example of how they often knee-jerk react to negative feedback, instead of taking a moment to properly figure a way out to please both sides. It's like they panic and quickly fix the situation by giving the whiners what they want. Sounds similar to bad parenting...

This may be a minor thing compared to other issues, but it's silly things like this that need to be cleared up and done right.

The problem with the free respec scrolls is that they are directly losing money from the crown store. I have 3 mules on my account, and a couple characters who I don't play often enough to worry about the respec, so I essentially get 8 free respec scrolls for 3 characters. That's 3500 crowns worth of extra respec scrolls I get to use down the road!

Well, they hardly touched the skills in this patch, so there really isn't any need for a respec. If your character doesn't work after this patch, it isn't the patch that broke your character...

And I'd hope that by the time they release another patch with lots of skill changes they'll have figured out a good way to offer free, optional respecs. Their strategy seems to be something along the lines of "we don't need to give a free respec for this patch anyways, so we'll focus on other things and figure that one out when we are prepared to release a patch with more skill changes."

It always amazes me how people never fail to accentuate the negative of something that could easily be an improvement when future major changes come around.

It doesn't even need to be a damn Crown Store respec scroll. They could easily conjure up a new scroll specifically for major updates, that can only be used once per character. It's not hard to think up ways to solve these problems!

And if that's too hard for them, then just give 1 crown store scroll per account.

I've already said this once but apparently people aren't getting the message or don't accept it otherwise this "debate" would not be continuing.
Orsinium is not changing up skills like IC did, therefore there is no reason to hand out reskills.

This is the simple truth people as to both why Imperial City did a freebie and why Orsinium will not.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for an optional free respec whenever they do major skill changes, I was just explaining why ZOS would never do it that way. I mean really, can you actually see ZOS giving every single player up to 8 700 crown items for free every time they change some skills? Because I sure as hell can't...

I agree it could be an improvement, but not something that ZOS would even consider.

I'm perfectly fine with a free respec when a major skill overhaul is done like with IC. I mean really it doesn't take that long to redo your skills and if you truly know your build it doesn't take rocket science to put it all back. Honestly I used the freebie as a crutch to start working on other Skill Lines and get them maxed out upon starting Cadwell's Silver. If we get another reskill for the same reason as IC I will use the opportunity to peruse the new statistics of each skill.

Except that they didn't actually give anyone what they wanted. I never saw anyone arguing that they just wanted them to stop doing free/cheap respecs with major updates. The only thing people have ever objected to that I've seen are forced respecs. Every time I've seen people (including myself) arguing against forced respecs it's always been arguing that the respec should be optional not that it should be taken away. So basically they managed to make the decision that wouldn't make anyone happy.

Unless they're just not giving the respecs with this update because they feel like it's not warranted, and with the next major update they'll do an optional one.

Except the only times I've seen them do forced respecs are when one or more skill lines changed so much that if they didn't do a forced respec, the resulting skill line might be significantly off. IC changed so many things in so many skill lines (including replacing some skills with totally different ones…), that it really required a forced respec. They might have been able to get away with respecing only the skill lines with the significant changes (as they have in the past), but there were so many changes, I'm glad they did the full respec instead.

The changes for Orsinium are actually quite minor by comparison - I'm not surprised there isn't a skill respec happening here. I could have made a case, maybe, for a week of reduced respec costs for those who optionally want to change (The ONLY way I can see them ever offering "optional" respecs), but honestly I'm not feeling the need to respec ANY of my characters for Orsinium. And unless they plan another major set of skill changes on the level of IC in the next update, I don't expect a respec there either.

That said, I *do* understand why some people with a LOT of skill points are frustrated by these, having spent probably an hour or two before IC was released making detailed notes about all 8 of my characters. (So much so that I'm seriously thinking of writing an add-on to make things easier in the future, at least for PC users…)
