Hate to be the bearer of bad news but these were revealed as coming along with a Zombie Horse and will be available between October 22nd up until Orsinium launch on PC. The Mind-Shriven Horse will also be unavailable as of said launch. As for the rest, datamining guarantees nothing beyond the fact the data exists.
Now then many of you don't want the stuff because it breaks immersion, is counter-intuitative to Nirn's ways, etc. but others do want them. Besides, we already have Draugr Wolves in this game so yeah they've already broken this wall down hard...
Also consider TESV: Skyrim had a headless horseman wandering around. So yeah this isn't really as unreasonable as many think and it's fair to those that have been crying out for holiday events.
Is this fair to everyone? No.
Is anything ever fair to everyone? No.
Is that just how it is? Yes.
There is no such thing as a game that can perfectly please every single one of its players. Those it doesn't please either quit or continue to play with a disgruntled demeanor.
Not really; some of us play happily resting on all our crowns that we can spend on other things we don't find silly so it's all good.
Which was the point I was making lol one man's trash is another man's treasure and all that.

Your statements included the assumption that people would also "either quit or continue to play with a disgruntled demeanor," which is just rubbish. Nobody is going to quit over something they find ridiculous in the first place, they will just laugh at the mere idea of spending money in this - I know I am, hehe. So much for disgruntled demeanor. : P

Clearly you don't know people then lol
Sure there is a middle area where people just don't care either way but some of those people may try to find something to gripe about like "why are you wasting time adding this when this could be done instead?!".

I have seen every gripe there is since been around here since beta and added a few of my own to the plate - in spades. But no, throwing out those kinds of generalizations of when it comes to this is just a thinly veiled swipe at people who are saying they don't like the stuff. Not cool.
As I've said many times before @paleobonesb14_ESO, if ZOS wanted to establish a calendar for ESO to put the 13th of Frost Fall on October 31st I would be completely fine with that... but that would require all other days to be offset.
The fact is that ZOS is bastardizing the Witches Festival to celebrate and cash in on Halloween. All I asked was that the polymorphs be sold so we can have them for the witches festival. (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/221551/witches-festival-crown-store-items-an-issue-with-timing/p1) I would have been fine with them being sold THROUGH Halloween. I just wanted them to also be available on or prior to October 13th.
If ZOS saw fit to do that I would have bought them. Now I won't out of principal. They are releasing these for Halloween. To claim anything different is insulting.
Without a calendar the most logical and reasonable thing to do is consider our calendar and ESO's calendar to be synched in the same way most MMOs synch calendars. Personally... I'd prefer the calendar not be synched. I go over a concept here that would make room for both real-world and Tamrielic holidays in ESO. (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/171830/day-length-adjustment-holiday-implementation-concept/p1)
I accept the polymorphs as "lore friendly"... I actually like them quite a bit! But the timing is outright disrespectful to the lore and to the players. At this point it seems like ZOS is just seeing how far off lore they can go. Like they want to see how much we will accept. In two years we will probably have reindeer mounts with elf pets carrying packages wrapped in red with green bows.
I'm not being a stick in the mud @paleobonesb14_ESO, I'm using that stick to draw a line in the sludge. ZOS has shown that they are willing to outright disregard the lore but then still pretend that they show it reverence. You may be willing to accept the propaganda and convince yourself that these AREN'T Halloween items, good for you. I'm just not willing to do that.
And if you don't care about lore... write me off as a weirdo lore freak that needs to get a life.

It's not about that. Yes it is a generalization but it isn't at just one side of the coin. What I'm saying is there are people that are pleased with the content and stay and then there are those that are not and either take it regardless or quit. And then as I mentioned there is a middle sector that favors neither side usually because the content has no influence on them. However, as I also pointed out, people tend to find something to complain about just to nitpick or, for no reason whatsoever, complain. People are people, and no one can make all of them happy.

I understand your frustration, but I do not see how selling the items in the game would work since the in game days pass multiple times during the real life day. So if we went by in game standards the witches festival probably would not even be in the real life month of October and be some other month. Some people say that the day cycles are every 6 hours so that would mean in ESO time 1 year in real life would be 4 years in ESO. It would be extremely complicated and difficult to make a system for trivial lore that in the end does not have great impact on the game for them just to sell some holiday item.

You're completely right @Rampeal... it would have been easier for them to sell the Polymorphs in time for us to use them on the day of the witches festival... October 13th.
Why didn't they? What logical reason could be given other than "ZOS wanted to only sell them for two weeks and it was more important to sell them on Halloween than to them have available for the 13th of October." ?

lol @Rampeal. Way to ignore the actual point I was making while trying to derail my qestion. I have 100% absolutely no problem with ZOS selling the items in the crown store... Since I saw the little tidbit of lore they added to them I've been happy with them as an addition to ESO.
Even though I KNOW you got it the first time and chose to interpret the question, trying to be clever, I'll BOLD the parts that are pertinent to the point I'm making. You're completely right @Rampeal... it would have been easier for them to sell the Polymorphs in time for us to use them on the day of the witches festival... As for the whole calendar thing... that is a non argument for me. In the absence of an official ESO day/time/date system we follow our calendar. If THAT's where we disagree... then we simply disagree. I'm not willing to make wild justifications for ZOS' decisions.
Edit: deleted the snarky parts.

No one is going to quit the game over THIS stuff is the point; meaning it should not be conflated it into something bigger than what it actually is, so your statement which I called you out for was not cool and not correct.

Has ZOS actually ever listened to community feedback on anything? Like ever? I really wanna know.
