I have mains in all alliances. Any new ones created are AD. Not because of the alliance war or because of race, as I have the Imperial edition. It's about where I finish for grinding purposes.

i'm pretty sure it's because of the 3 factions, DC has the most "plain" races, that and lets face it the min maxers who are to cheap for the unlocked races probably wanted Altmer, Bosmer, Khajiit or Dunmer for racial reasonshence why AD has more pop in most platforms, usually followed by EP for nostalga reasons
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

I like to play as a human and the Nord was most human. When i made my character I had no clue that's there are three separate main quest campaigns.

I don't know, DC has two human races: Breton and Redguard. I'm not sure what makes Nord more human. There's also Imperial. :)

Bretons are descended from the Manmer (half elves) while the Nedes who settled in Cyrodiil were enslaved by the Ayleids and mixed up with various other ppl/races, thus creating the Imperials

Nords are direct descendants of the Nedes (the original humans) while Redguards are descended from the Yokudans (another "pure" human race)

I choose dc because I always play breton on any TES game, but along the way I switched to Imperials because I wanted to play stamina based class... But I end up on dc because I like it anyway...

Contrary to others opinions, I find that Emeric is very amusing compared to the other Leaders.

I see most people who have never played another elder scrolls game like the DC, it's more fimillar to them, while the real fans want to see morrowind again or explore the Summerset Isles. Sees like the kids and newbies like daggerfall. Just my opinion.

This is just plain wrong. Been playing TES since Arena. All the kids rolled AD and EP.

DC has the best zones, the best npcs and the best races. Its also the best fit for Imperials.

Meh, I went for DC because I like the color blue and I could pick whatever race because of some pre order package or whatever
And I think we do not have the same problems on the EU/PC Servers as you guys do with the populationbalance. Well, we do have a lot of EP as well but still. Kinda balanced.

My theory, no races by default with tails ;) . seriously though your alliance being bound 100% to your race by default unless you use real money is bull $#!* I mean they have NPCs that are the wrong race yet still loyal to (Insert alliance here)

Something to do with the previous games in the Elder Scrolls series? Is it the races (and maybe their passives)? Is the geography (are the zones better in EP, are the quests more fun)? It seems that in Cyrodiil, on every campaign or almost every campaign, DC is vastly outnumbered most of the time, with maybe to to three hours where they're pop-locked with the other two factions also pop-locked.

    Any theories?

They all hide in skull of corruption you dont see them because they all live there in cyrodiil and just multiply. They also are nocturnal and are multiplying fast i made a new dc toon and there were heaps of players at start compared to my ad or ep

DC on xbox eu has caught up.

We were unserpopulated for a long time in Cyrodiil.

I put it down to everyone selling dwarven oil and Dwemer motifs by the fountain in daggerfall.

Not they've got that out of their system, they're actually taking up arms.

How people clear dungeons in different factions:
AD - balanced party clears the dungeon.
EP - 4 damage dealers clear the dungeon.
DC - 4 healers sometimes clear the dungeon. Sometimes they can't, because there are not enough people.

I have completed Cadwell Gold and all the quests in the game...

In my opinion, AD has the coolest/prettiest races, most beautiful zones, coolest leader, and most enjoyable quests.

EP zones are ugly, their leader has a great accent but the quests are darker than most and there's no real unity/loyalty to the faction. Also I don't like being surrounded by drunks and alcoholism.

DC zones are too cramped for me, too many boring pirate/land/money based quests, and their king is weak and feeble.

Because of all of the leaders, Emeric never actually does anything of use. The other leaders actually do something of use. Emeric hides behind the player during the entire quest chain. No wonder he dies like a chump first based on lore.

Plus, there are numerous quests that have just plain stupid outcomes in the DC areas. As an example, never see a Glenmoril Wyress for medical attention in Bangkorai. They take the Dr. Hibbert approach... "Fire and lots of it." I can easily rattle off other examples.
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

Clearly this is subjective... Next you'll have Lysandus yelling Vengeance at you. DC has the weakest leader and the most stupid tragic outcome quests of the three.

Look, that lady over there got scratched by a vampire. Well, there's nothing we can do except set fire to her... Nevermind that priest in ready reach that can cure vampirism for 600 gold pieces. 600 is too high of a number to count to. Not enough fingers...

Deliberate choice to make sure I was playing max level vet content (at least it was then...) at the end of Cadwell's, so I rolled my chars on AD. I love the DC area zones, cities, and the storyline was very enjoyable to me. On vet level before they nerfed everything it was awesome to do. :)

    Skyrim fanboys.

Their mindset was "Ooooo, I can go to Skyrim again? Yes pls."

Or "I can join the bad guys? Sign me up for the Dominion!" (Little did they know the Dominion in-game isn't the same as the one in Skyrim.)

They saw Daggerfall and were like "What is this? I don't like change!" Cuz ofc they never played Daggerfall nor prolly ever heard of it.

As some earlier posters mentioned DC members tend to be older, the small children go EP or AD primarily.

Also they dun' understand that the Mongrel race of half elves are the best race.

DC has, by far, the best looking zones.

Which would include Orsinium btw. That zone looks incredible compared to the other northern zones like Eastmarch and the Rift.

When I tested & then first bought the game at release I chose AD, because I love wood elves ( and Raz )
However, once I rolled my first DC character, I found it a lot more fun to play than AD.

Now, I have more DC characters than AD, and I only rolled one EP because that faction absolutely bores me to tears. I've had to force myself to play it, because I want to experience all parts of the game. My AD sorc is at the last area of the EP / Cadwell's campaign and I cannot wait to get out of it.

Also, apart from one or two instances, I have found the people who populate the DC faction are a lot more mature, helpful and friendly than AD or EP. Since the game went B2P I turn zone off in AD or EP. EP is especially appalling. I keep it on when I'm playing DC.

Breton's look human but are really half elfs hence why they always get magicka boosts in TES games.

I just liked the background for the formation of the DC Alliance more than the other Alliances in the promo materials. I also always struggle with the racist and elitist elves that are in both of the other factions in past TES games so in the end easy choice for me.

While I like all of the DC zones the most spectacular is Auridon in my book. Shame about Grahtwood, Greenshade and Malabar Tor all blending into one with their sameness.

I would say it largely depends on whichever race fits the perceived meta. AD and EP have been consistently stronger than DC in terms of racial passives since beta.

Trust me, it was FAR worse at launch.
"Do you know the old saying, neither a borrower or lender be? Rubbish! Without borrowers and lenders..." and by this point we have either run screaming or are attempting murder.

    Anyways...
I haven't really noticed an imbalance of players, but I'm also not very observant and don't do pvp. Personally I love both DC and AD, I'm really torn between which is my favorite. I've got 9 characters in the covenant, 10 in the dominion, only 5 in EP. Mainly it's about liking the landscapes for me. I like greeeeeen.

Though I guess it does make sense that DC might miss out due to not having an animal-like race, or elves - although that doesn't matter when you have the explorer's pack. But yeah... It seems like there aren't a lot of people who are super into Redguard's or Orc's cultures for whatever reason. Though I think a lot of people choose Bretons because of the magic passives and for looks because they have the most soft and cute features.

I agree about the skyrim/morrowind nostalgia factor being a big draw for people, though for me Stonefalls has such depressing terrain I was seriously turned off from making any more characters there after my first one... untill I reached Deshaan, though I still have to say none of the zones there are really my favorites (in Skyrim, the Reach and Falkreath were my faves anyway, not so much Eastmarch or the Rift).

I was similarly kind of turned off at first by the bleak desert setting of Stross M'kai and wasn't too excited to create characters there till I saw the beautiful green (and rainy) forests of Glenumbra (back in the beta when you actually started out on the islands). I think the landscape and architecture of much of the Daggerfall Covenant is appealing to people who like a traditional 'fairy tale' setting, with that old-world european feel but it also probably feels less unique and intriguing to some people. And it also has more of the sort of.... autumny-werewolf-vampire-harry-potter-ish theme going on than the others do which may make some people see it as having a more depressing atmosphere.

I think the Aldmeri Dominion has the best continuity of story tying the zones together - you've got Raz and the Queen throughout and there seems to be more of a connected string of plot puling you on to the next thing from the very start on Khenarthi's Roost - so for people who like a focused story that tells them where to go next instead of just wandering, AD seems like the best choice. Whereas, once you get off the starter islands in Glenumbra or Stonefalls you're just kind of suggested to check stuff out where you meet with different people, and then it's new people again in the next zone, so some people may not feel as connected to the characters or overall plot. I like most of the quests in DC, but I do have to say I wish I liked Emeric more than I do, I don't dislike him but... I dunno, and... yeah there are some pretty depressing ones (I will never ever complete the doomcrag again if I can help it, unless they eventually let you rescue a certain someone....), but I still really like it over all.
