Maybe it's because I am old and went to too many concerts in my youth. But I find the In game music to drown out the dialog and other sounds. I have tweaked the levels to help with that, but for the most part I turn it off in all the games I play. I like hearing the ambiance cues in games if they are done well, and this game does have great sound design.
I am also annoyed by battle music, if that would not fire off, I might listen to in game music more.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The in game music never seems to fit what I'm doing. It like gets all intense like battle music sometimes when I'm just in town and then during fights there's no music at all. It got to be more annoying then anything
Play on PS4 I do like the game, I just feel it could be a lot better and would like to feel like the devolpers actually care about the game and not just making money
I love the game music and listen to it all I can. The default battle music for quick battles is the part I do not like. While I grinding, I listen to my own music. If I questing or anything else, I listen to the game music.
Voted no, since that is what I do these days. The music is okay, maybe bit generic fantasy fare and ambient stuff, but not bad by any means, and I did listen to it for quite a while. Eventually one does get bored of it, it gets repetitive and worn. Especially after after having played the unsightly number of hours that I've sunk into this game. So these days I just turn it off. Sometimes I do play my own music, but since it's hard to match the songs to whatever I am doing, most of the time I just do without music altogether. If I could add new stuff to the playlists, like battle, town and exploration songs I would probably keep it playing and just vary whatever I had loaded up on those playlists.
Turn if right down or off, so I can hear environmental stuff.

I've always loved Elder Scrolls music. Though I have to admit in ESO after a while it feels like the same three songs being played over and over again.
I've been playing this game since summer of 2013 and I still enjoy listening to the music. It puts me in a relaxed state and I'm still not tired of it even after all this time.
Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...
the music is very nice and my friends and family do love it. I however actually turn the music off and a few other things really low only relying really on ambience, feels much more engaging to me that way.
however when I'm doing some boring monotonous task like farming mats, ingredients, or any of the new motif styles. I use my own playlists to distract me from the boredom.
ESO player since beta.
game got too disappointing.
One of the tracks that only plays in Eastmarch is pure gold...

Generally I turn it off because of the overuse of that "Ooooooohhhh eeeeeeeeeeehhh ooooooooooooohhhhhhh" vocal track that annoys me. I put the Skyrim or Morrowind sountrack instead.

I still have the music on, but I pay no attention to it. If I'm doing grindy stuff, I have the game volume down and I'm watching Netflix on a second monitor.
There is no suitable answer for those who have the music on, but are indifferent.
There is definitely some good music. I don't like the overly excitable music you hear in the load screen at times, or when you first enter Cyrodiil... those tunes just don't feel very elder scrolls to me. They need to get more of the mellow tunes going that gave the sense of exploration and wonder in games like Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. All that being said there is some good music in the game, and I'm hopeful for more. I'd love to hear the basic TES theme song too.
