Do you prefer games where the mobs...

I prefer that mobs do NOT attack my character once my character is sufficiently leveled above them that there is no longer any challenge or XP or loot to be gained from killing them.
Love the discussion here! Thanks for participating! I agree that in a "perfect world" the AI would be such that certain mobs would attack regardless of level whilst others would either leave you alone or run away. But apparently that concept is way too hard to implement in most games. Alas.

My own preference for not being attacked by low level mobs stems from 2 reasons. 1. I don't like "taking" the low level mobs from the players there who actually need them when I may just be trying to go back and finish a quest chain for an achievement. 2. There are many places that would be super fun to roleplay in if you weren't constantly being hassled by mobs too dumb to know they can't beat you.

/serves sweetrolls to all the nice people who came over to talk, giving extra helpings to the folks who cracked me up!

I prefer for mobs to attack my character regardless of level disparity.
It's immersion breaking to walk past a usually aggressive alit or crocodile and they *don't* attack you. It always felt silly to run past a pack of wolves or bears in Lotro or Wow and they don't even notice you.
    May all beings have happiness
May they be free from suffering
May they find the joy that has never known suffering
May they be free from attachment and hatred

Dammit Morna, you promised us sweetrolls!
    It should be like this.

You, the hero being told of your destiny takes your first steps into a hostile area, those evil doers know that they have a chance of stripping your corpse of gold, weapons and valuables as they are slightly better than what they have and you fight groups of the beggars and you win (hooray! Extra gold) I can buy new things with this you think and you move on only to be stopped by a bandit leader and his second in command, who threaten your life with words, a show of power and possibly a poorly executed joke of his axe to your skull.

The fight commences and you barely make it leaving the two strongest bandits dead, looted and rotting on the floor. Now, in ESO your endeavours become news in cities and towns. You are the scourge of those wicked, wicked villains and you move off into other lands, doing heroic stuff. Many years or days later (depending on whether you are power levelling or not) you return to the place where you first stepped out and you see some evil doers in the same spot roaming around, looking threatening you know, being dirty no good bandits. You are wearing the best armour weapons and enchantments you could ever own, you beat the crap out of Daedra, danced upon the innards of powerful necromancers, and possibly flippped the bird at invading forces and came out on the other side with nothing but a scratch. The news of this great hero spreads far and wide in your faction area.

You walk up to these bandits as there is a iron node you want behind them. Now if I was one of those bandits, I'd take one look and tell the other guy to leave the hero alone. In the earlier days that hero kicked the crap out of the first leader and his lacky with nothing but an iron plate and a broken sword. In fact if I was that bandit, I'd run, run away and never return.

Or have a heart attack and lay down to give the hero LOOT. Refer to my previous post for my reasoning.

    (2)V16 Sorc- mag dps/stam dps
    (2)V16 nb- stam dps/mag dps
    (1)v16 temp- mag tank/mag dps
    CP: 610 and counting

And yet, there is little difference when a high level character runs wild down the beach wiping out all the mudcrabs.

I can tell you exactly why this is going on. One of the Monster Hunter Achievements requires killing Mudcrabs for one of the sub achievements, Nature Slayer, (Dreugh and I think Horavors also count for this one). Problem is, the mubcrabs basically go docile at about zone 2 or 3 so we get everything else in the Nature Slayer and realize we need Mudcrabs and fast. So, I go into zone 1 or 2 and spam impulse on the beach until I have the 500 needed.

I would gladly give up the low level leather to anyone around who needed if they asked.

Back to the OP, I would prefer if mobs did not aggro or needed me to be much closer to them to aggro if I was say 10 levels over.

Yea I've always preferred not getting slowed down by mobs that give you no XP. Would be a nice little addition

It depends on the mob strength... If the mobs pose a threat regardless of level or can be killed in 1 - 2 hits then I don't mind if everything attacks on sight. The fight will still be worth it or the fight won't be a fight in the latter case. But in regards to ESO... neither case applies unless it is sub-10 vs VR and the enemies are so densely packed... I'd like some time to admire the team's scenery.
