Hello everyone, I'm gonna be starting my first DK and I have some questions.

I'm going to want a Heavy Armor, Sword and Shield, Magicka build. Is that a viable thing? I picked High Elf as I don't have any race-any alliance, and I was looking to make based around more Magicka then Stamina. I also thought that the Passives of the High Elf would make it useful as a Magicka DPS DK (spell regen, and extra fire damage) any one able to offer some advice?
Vet 5 NB- Gaelwen Forestmire (Vamp(cured)/Stam)
Vet 1 Templar- Kozawah Incarnic (None/Magicka/Healer)
Level 4 DK- Trecldur (Magicka)

So battle mage ? Well +1 for originality.

Now the actual advice is you want 5 heavy and 2 light for magicka reduction and SnS is kinda lacking right now to only be useful as a defense not so much offense but doing some more research can maybe make it offensive. Want to slot a few adrent flame abilities cause the dragconic and ertheart skills are more for defensive play. Best adrent flame skill that most DKs agree on is flame lash that's magicka me personally prefer burning breath that is stamina base but deals good fire DOTs and reduces enemies physical res t5 so may want to slot that in. From dragonic skills I suggest the spike armor the morph of harden armor cause it is magicka base deals magical damage on activation and reflects melee damage back to attacker and increases physical and megical res by 5K.

    That's a start I guess I'm more of a 2H stamina DK tank.

Heavy Magicka DK is viable, but it's generally suffering from lack of any escapes or high burst damage, so it's difficult to play solo. Unless you enjoy horse-riding, I'd recommend you join a small guild or that you stay not too far from the friendly zerg.

The race you picked is imo the best all around race for any magicka build in PvP, DK included.

I generally recommend people to start their first builds with plenty of sustain, unless they roll a ganker, because it will will forgive more mistakes at the beginning, as they learn the class.

There are plenty of different build guides here and on TF, if you have a look. Any specific kind of advice that you are after?

Mostly build advice, any skill I should just skip any must haves? Armor sets? I will be doing some Alchemy and Blacksmithing so I should have plenty of pots and I can make my own armor, (my Nightblade is my clother so if I go Light armor I can use her to make it.)
