The mosquito poll

You are walking around in IC, alone or with a buddy, questing or grinding. And suddenly you see a yellow-blue-red, a player of another alliance. Also just one or two players.
What do you do? Do you ignore? Do you attack? Do you chase those "nasty" ganking mosquitos? Are you yourself a ganker?
If I am solo... I just don't bother... just keep on walking to mobs and attack them.
If he attacks during a mob fight... I still don't bother.... finish my fight... and move on to the next... unless that ganking mosquito gets too annoying... and then I attack.
I notice during IC that I am not the only one behaving like this. Perhaps also primarily PVE players?
So I was interested in how we look to that.

The poll question: suppose that you are solo in IC and see another solo player of the other alliance. What do you do?

I'm not even very good at PvP, but for some reason when I am in Cyro/IC a sort of red mist descends and all rationality goes out of the window...

I generally avoid fights, because I suck at PvP. I also feel bad attacking someone who is busy fighting mobs, especially if their health is down. Yesterday I observed a lone Pact member doing just that and was going to let him be but he saw me and attacked. I was surprised that I actually managed to kill him.

Instantly attack him, no waiting of any kind. And i expect him to do the same. We are in a PvP area, i assume he came here to PvP, just like i did.

Now, if i wipe him out without any effort (he turns out to be a PVE-r and poses no challenge) i might leave him alone the next time we cross path, circumstances permitting. But no promises.

Lame PvP zone is lame. Just ignore him unless he attacks.

Nothing of those. I see him I attack. I don't care what's going on around him. I want dem stones and I'm confident I can beat almost anyone in a 1v1 situation.

But there are a lot of enemy faction players that I'm not attacking because we have a silent aggreement.

Neither, I attack straight away, no matter what she/he is doing. When I'm fighting NPC's myself I kill them first and go for the enemy afterwards.

I usually stealth. If it is one person i will attack them when they are done fighting mobs. However if it is a group of 2+ , depending on how good i know they are, i will wait until they are in combat and take one down while they are distracted and move to fight the rest in an open battle with the mobs still involed. I like fair fights and ill take it upon myself to make one sometimes... Fair meaning 1v1. If this is in the vile drainage though i almost always will gank, wait until mobs are involved or drag a sweeper into the group.

Like Sun Tzu and von Clausewitz, I hate fair fights. Tactical proficiency means ganking while the enemy is distracted, weakened, etc. Given the unknowns -- maybe there are other enemies you don't know about close enough nearby to join in if you don't press the advantage, for instance -- it's best to burst enemies down and get back into stealth as quickly as possible.
The only substitute for victory is overkill.

Was in Cyrodil last night trying to quest. i am a VR16 with gold gear, so a lvl 13 (not veteran) started attacking me. it tickled. so i stared at him, smacked him once, then just held up block. he wouldn't leave me alone, strangely, so i slaughtered him.
