Last couple of days it takes a long time for the launcher to load. Anyone else having this issue?

    Yes. My brother and I have both had this issue. I've had to wait for it to load, and many times the "play" button isn't there, so I close and reopen several times to get it. Very annoying.

    Well I will put a bug report in and you guys should also. This is getting old bugs from launcher to all the in game bugs.

    Same, takes forever to load, about 75% of the time, the PLAY button never appears. I've been just opening the game directly.

    Same as ThePonzzz, cant get a play button so I am opening the game directly (which responds quickly) but I hope it gets fixed soon as I suspect that this will only work until the next update..

    I've found if you wait long enough (sometimes over 2 minutes), the launcher fully loads. A launcher shouldn't take that long to load. :(

    Did you all try to set the compatiblity mode for the launcher to Windows XP? It worked for me several months ago after I had the same issues with it, and ever since I changed this, it loads as it should.
    I only use the launcher to update the game, the game itself I start via eso.exe directly (no compatibility mode) which I have a shortcut of on my desktop as well.

The one part I have to laugh at is they told me to disable all addons, addons aren't even being touched at that point.     It was the same for me, it worked before, then some update came, and then it did not work anymore (not the IC update but much earlier for me already). Unfortunately, only by changing the compatiblilty mode I could get it to work like normal. It's just a few mouse clicks, then you never have to do that again, but I do agree that we shouldn't have to do this in the first place.

    What I can't stand is the standard phrase "disable your addons", especially in this case it doesn't do anything at all.
    But yeah, that's such a shame (it isn't^^) that we can't see the advertising anymore in the launcher as long as they don't provide a new one (preferably a 64bit version) ;)

    Ditto. In some cases, to get to the game fast, I've had to open it from eso.exe in the program folder.

    It's now a shortcut on my desktop. No idea why it takes so long for Play to show up, especially if I have had to exit the game due to another error.

    Dont use the launcher to start teh game, only to download patch. When you start the game just go directly to the eso.exe file and go directly into the game from there witout starting the launcher.

    I think we all know that, but it would be nice to run the game the way it was made to run. Scary part this may be how they want it to run.

    Also when you go to check for updates it takes a long time to communicate and get play button back.

    Before you tell me, all ports are open on my end everything told to do has been done, this is a launcher ZoS problem, something is taking a long time to communicate on your end.

    @BigM we know it's frustrating to hear basic troubleshooting options, but we need to go through them to rule out that major known causes for existing issues. It helps to streamline both reporting and investigating for our engineers when we can show that existing known issues have already been ruled out.

    Well right now with patch am getting 209 error and have to run repair, if the patch won't go thru I will be so pissed. Will let you know what happens after repair runs if patch ends up finishing.

    Well good got play button back and still getting 209 error, so back to eso.exe to getting in game. Just not sure I got all of patch.

Every time there's an issue their knee-jerk response is to "Disable add-ons" in fact it's such a common rebut that even players themselves say it knowing full well it's a load of crap. I've come to the realization that you have to rig the game in any way you can on your own time to solve THEIR problems... For me, the game has always been this way and i'm steadily getting over this horrible experience. This game is not worth my money AND my peace of mind. I shouldn't need a degree in Computer science to play a *** game! Come on now....

    Confirmed for me at least. First time Ive ever experienced this issue.

    Win7 X64 SP1 - all working prior to this AM.

    First attempt - Slow Launcher GUI - No GUI items - Finally gave GUI items - Started Patching, No Download bytes at all.

    Repeated twice same result.

    Changed to Compatibility - Win XP SP3 - Immediate launcher GUI - Immediate Update response - Game Patched as of this post.

    Same here.. (WIN 8.1 64 bit) I did notice that in the taskbar I see a little ESO icon - however when I mouse over it goes away. But if I try launching ESO when that icon is still sitting down there, I get no play button. If I hover over those, and then launch, I get a play button after a few seconds. I have even tried on diff PCs, including Win 7, same results. Strange.

    Load screens between areas are also much longer since IC DLC. Getting very frustrating. Hope this gets resolved soon.

    Just wondering why we should have to set the launcher to be compatible with a version of Windows that was 3 iterations ago and that Microsoft no longer even supports? Why not, you know, fix the launcher?

    i have same problem, the "start" icon does not show up for several minutes.

    ALSO:
    the "repair" option is Gone. not sure why it was removed from the launcher, but it is gone.

    Just started having problems after today's patch. I tried repair and that doesn't make a difference. After about 1/2 dozen - dozen tries I get the play button.
