Be the zerg or get zerged. Before IC my vote would have been the other way but as it stands now... I hate being in IC and getting steamrolled by a group of 24 people who don´t even know half of them doesn´t get any loot....

If my faction has the numbers I can roam solo in peace and will only face small enemy groups trying to avoid the zerg. Finding small battles without getting rolled works much better when your own faction is poplocked.

I'll pick the underdog, because moar 1vX opportunities.

But, honestly? Might as well stick to BwB, where it's still kind of balanced (which is the invisible option 3).

Obviously Telel would prefer a balanced option, or at least one where "your factions actual number of PVPers closely resembles the pop bar instead of everyone wondering why only five of us are here no matter the pop bar" But they had to go with the one where they would outnumber at least one faction.

There are two reasons for this.

    1) It's where they get most of the new players they then lure into more contested campaigns, or use to hold the line when the fair weather campaigners flee the moment things get difficult.

    2) It lets Telel have a chance of standing up to the inevitable EP zerg migrations that sweep all before them until there is naut but this one's guild, and people to new (or apathetic) to realize there are multiple campaign. E.G: AS last month, AOB this week.

However this one does not think anyone would accuse Telel of doing these things for the easy mode wins, or of being someone who won't stick things out when they get tough.

There is also the issue that you wanted to play certain characters in a certain faction, and you don't really feel like hustling to grind something up to max and earn all the skill points to play on an alt faction immediately. The title assumes a little too much I think. I have alts in the other factions, and I intend to pvp with them but lets be realistic that people grow attached to certain servers and factions. I don't think its as simplistic as looking at population lock and thinking 'Gee, I want to go where I have no one to team with'. Many people have built relationships on certain servers, and want to continue teaming with those people. Most of us could comfortably jump with friends into other servers, but its a little more difficult now. I personally think if one server is currently pop locked, we should be able to jump onto a server where our faction is weak, just to give those other faction-mates a hand. Other than this I don't really see a good solution to the problem. Other MMO's I've played actually did things differently with pvp than here. ON ESO if your faction has controlled the most territory all the players on that faction are stronger than they would be normally. This actually helps people keep their power. I've been on MMO's where the losing side gets a mechanic where they can call in extra npc resources to help them. Maybe this game could use something like that, just to keep things interesting.

I dunno. I'm homed Azura been there for a while. haven't changed since they got rid of Thornblade. stay or leave, depends on the other two factions. on 1.6 if DC or AD lost a campaign sometimes they would jump to another leaving the one i'm on empty of PvP so i'd have to change to follow them. that's pretty much the only time i change my home, when PvP runs dry.

I chose my campaign because I was new and didn't know what all the graphs and numbers meant. Even if I knew in hindsight DC was low pop I'd still pick it.
In past MMOs I always enjoyed being the "underdog" - my defensive and 1vX skills were enhanced tenfold, instead of running around in a zerg bombing everything without a care in the world and not really learning anything. Zerging is boring anyway, and I don't really see the appeal that others do.

When rage swapped over to Azura's it was like locked DC and EP and 1-2 bars AD. AD had low pop bonus for over a week lol. We were the only AD group on the map at times and got some fun fights from it. The main reason I wanted to go to Azura's though is there is decent population 24/7. I got sick of playing on trueflame as an Australian and there being no one on the enemy factions to kill because they were all asleep. :(

Being mostly a PvE carebear but liking Imperial City, I'd pick the campaign with low bars all around so I could get to the sewers. Then once there, I'd hope it changes to all three pop-locked 'cause that would be more fun.

PvP in IC just has a different better, not so serious feel to it.

Azuras is a zergy mess that seems to be flipping a lot lately until after hours, and Trueflame has been really fun lately during prime time but at night gets rolled when no one is on.

TBH there was so much talk about DC becoming the new zerg faction with a lot of people rerolling but it is still not the case. We are the only faction without a dedicated buff server and have no competitive guild presence during off-hours, unlike AD and EP. During off hours DC usually has new guilds forming pick-up groups or solo players.

I'm not for a major exodus of other factions to DC because during prime time on the 2 most competitive servers we usually hold our own, its aussie prime-time where DC gets rolled, and i think having a competitive guild that could take up that space would do wonders for the faction and population balance, and would honestly make a lot of AP in the process.

I get why GoS left TF and don't blame them for it in the sense that if they were there it would be too much EP...but i think the idea of buff-server liberation, while noble, is not going to be solved on EP. EP is able to roll the two most competitive maps each day, so is AD if it jumps out of ganker stealth and starts taking things...DC is the only faction that can't do that. Just food for thought.

I am neither. I main on the campaign that is poplocked for all factions, because I signed on for three-way pvp and not for being roflstomped by 10 times as many opponents or roflstomping opponents that have a 10th of my side's numbers.

Because of the entailed queues, I guest on a campaign where my faction is never locked, but with open IC access because I can then use the magnificent waiting times to farm stones & mats. As expected by ZOS, I have done my duty and embraced the new grind statutes.

Since no one from Haxus had chimed in, we have, and always will, home whatever campaign we feel is the most competitive. This was the case before Havoc and Nexus merged, it was the case prior to DiE rerolling EP and going through its changes (ending with the formation of Havoc and others returning to AD as DiE), and it was true of IR prior to reforming as Nexus. On off nights, when competition is light on our home campaign, we go to whichever campaign has the most people to kill.

I started on Haderus with all my chars way back in the begining and haven't left. I don't even have a guest campaign. I've seen the ups and downs, highs and lows of population changes and found most things run in cycles. Right now on Haderus, AD (my faction) and DC is either pop locked or at 3 bars nearly all the time, while EP sits around 1 bar more of the time. And yet I can grind most of the dungeons and quests area with little fear of seeing any other player. The population bars are misleading because most people are grinding in IC.

We've been jumping around in the campaigns a lot over the past few weeks and always went for those where an enemy alliance was locked and our alliance low. Did we find any pvp? Hardly. Stupid IC.

On Axe at least, we AD have found that if we start taking keeps, as soon as the poplocked (aka EP) faction's access to the sewers or their Emperorship is threatened, the ants will come swarming out of IC to defend.

Honestly? First option, because if my faction were pop-locked I might not be able to get into the campaign or into IC.

In general I try to stay away from servers where any faction is pop-locked. I prefer the quieter servers where factions are at one or two bars.

I've spent way more time on nme buff servers than on servers dominated by my own faction and it does get tiring after a while.

Slight correction here, Havoc is still its own guild. Most of our core members are simply playing other games. A few Havoc members, who still play ESO, created a new guild with Nexus members. Havoc, as a guild, did NOT merge with Nexus.

I moved from Chillrend to Haderus simply because EP was far too overpowered there (annoying thing was, half of them were only in the sewers anyway). On Haderus, it's normal for me to see no one from EP for hours on end. You can light a keep and perhaps one other person will show up. It's kind of annoying how all these other campaigns have EP but they treat Haderus like it has a disease.

I routinely get whispers from AD members telling me and my group to "f off" because it's 'their server' - That seems like more incentive to fight does it not? Even though the biggest group I've ran in Had for a month has been like, five *** people - AD had still sent an emp + 20 (and they put up seige engines) for the 5 of us posted up defending arrius mine. It was beautiful

I would argue a 3rd option is possible. That option would be "A campaign I am more familiar with" or something along those lines.

For example, I am AD and, when I do vet pvp, I play on Haderus. Haderus currently has a population skew toward AD. However, the pop numbers have no impact on my descision to play there as all my vets have been homed there for a long time. The original decision that led me to selecting Haderus as my campaign of choice was it's short campaign cycle. At that time, Haderus worked out better than the other vet campaigns because it allowed me to split my play time more easily between vet pvp and non-vet pvp.

Are players who chose their campaign based on something other than population part of the solution or the problem? Probably a little of both, but if the intention of this poll is to draw ZOS's attention to population imbalance then having some idea of how many players are in the gray area might be of some value.
