Nightblades... Ridiculous!

I salute ZOS for creating the most OP class of all times in any game! With the new, silly PvP settings, they have a burst that can actually kill, unlike any other class. They utilize the also completely overpowered two-hander like no other class, and if everything else fails, they can bail out at will with their ridiculous invisibility. I especially love how teleport jump can hit me from three miles away despite me having Clouding Swarm active!

Are we supposed to only play as Nightblades now?

Are there any plans to actually balance this game at some point? Or make it work, as in, fix the bugs? Any information on the matter would be appreciated.

nightblade class and nightblade skills [Stamina] allways has been and still is the weakest of all the classes. we recently had some help but we are still lowest in damage output and survivability.
the magicka nightblade tho is and might be whaat your refering to? they have allways been high in damage and survive longer.

There is always a certain amount of freedom of speech. By law, as in what counts as an insult, and by moral, as in what can be considered an opinion. ZOS are simply censoring. I've seen better from other developers. And they also have private forums.

Nope, stamina Nightblades are not weak at all, thanks to Wrecking Blow and Snipe. Dual Wielders and Sword/Boardlers... Maybe.

Nightblades have always been strong, I know, but this is a new level. With the new and improved cloak, they hold an advantage that easily decides battles. Someone on the forums here said that these days, a Nightblade can't be killed if it doesn't want to be killed. That is so true, unfortunately, and very imbalanced.

But my question remains, has there been a concrete statement from ZOS that they would be looking into balancing soon? I'm asking because I'm thinking about buying Imp City, as Orsinium takes a while. But I'm definitely not getting it under the current balancing circumstances!

Neither of which has any meaning here. By law, ZOS is free to censor as they wish.

Their censoring does not infringe in any way on what is actually covered by law under "freedom of speech".

Heh, I agree OP in the sense that NB is the "best" PvP.

I say that because going into stealth is the most powerful mechanic right now. And let's be hoest sorcs our bolt is second.

What makes these abilities so darn good is that they control engagement and disengagement alike, in a PvP meta that is nothing but resource management, this is the penultimate. And both effect abilities.

Sorc can bolt with CC in effect, that's like the ultimate immunity, an attack that completely defeat ls the idea of a root, and NB's cloak can occur within any range immediately after a CC break.

Im not advocating a nerf, but what comparable abilities does a DK or Temp have? They have no engagement control once so ever.

For a while I had troubles with magicka nightblades that spammed cloak, but I overcame it with the help of people on this forum. That was the only aspect of nightblades that I had trouble with. Nightblades are no more overpowered in PvP than any other class; each class has an area which they do better than other classes. For nightblades, that area of expertise is their superior stealth abilities and gap closer, both of which means they require different tactics to overcome than other classes, but they are by no means overpoowered.

Um WHAT? lets review

Sorcs: only have bound armor, its not even an offensive ability its a buff.

DKs have 2 dots. burning breath which debuffs, and unstable flame. nice dots but both be purge and cloaked to remove

Templar has some good stamina morphs. Biting jabs is notably good critical self buff, knock back damage spam. binding javelin a CC with okay damage/range. Dont know how effective power of the light is for pvp.

Now Nighblade:
Ambush- gap closer that can gap close at any range (not aware of any other gap closer that can do this!), immobilizes target for 1 second, making it a great pvp gap closer. and buffs your next attack by 20% via empowered! and it can work to gap close even if the enemy is on a cliff, as it teleports you and so isn't restricted by needing a clear path to the enemy! oh and only stamina class gap closer in game.

Surprise attack- instant cast short animation damage spam, that debuffs the targets armor. if done from stealth/cloak it also cc's the target. and i believe it is more dps than biting jabs? Ergo the strongest class stamina DPS spam skill in game.

Killers blade: an execute. of course most wont use it because they use 2 hander and streamers state executioner or spamming more surprise attack is comparable damage at that point. but this is not so true vs a vampire say in 2.1 and when you include its an assassin ability so through passives boosts your critical chance as well as health regen (though tiny)on kill. its the only stamina class execute in game

Power extraction; okay its naff as you get the buffs from other sources like rally or flying blade, and if you want a stamina AOE you use bow or DW.

Freedom of speech was just a term that seemed fitting to me. I'm surely not planning on court martialing ZOS now. My point is rather that instead of listening and maybe helping, ZOS and their moderators are more keen to edit posts. Like, in this case, Racheal took the time to moderate me, but it the time didn't suffice to give me a heads-up about the current patching status or whatsoever. Not a big deal, no problem, don't worry, it's cool. But it shows how ZOS are having their priorities dead wrong.

Nightblades are OP. No discussion here. Big burst and can't be bought. Only working counter Piercing Mark exclusive to NBs. That's my take, and Imperial Citizens surely agree. But iff you want to discuss it, please go to those threads or make your own. I don't want to cut you guys short here, but this simply wasn't the core of my post. And no L2P issues. Almost Emperor, have enough muscle power in my fingers to actually press a button in-game and google something like "eso poll best pvp class"... Skillboyz might think ESO is the glorious pinnacle of video gaming, but no. It's not. And picking the most OP class with the most OP skills in a zerg of 20+ at night surely doesn't meet my understanding of high skill.

So, anyone heard of any incoming balance tweaks? Or at least bug fixes?

Seriously, if you think NBs are OP then you're doing it wrong.

Also, theres literally dozens of these threads already, you could have chosen one and had input in that instead. The forum search bar is your friend.

I play a nightblade...I am pretty good ...I think. I kill most that I run into but yesterday I ran into baconator (sorc)and he destroyed me and 2 of my buddies....I took 17k dmg from dawnbreaker.... I also ran into a templar that I literally could not kill...his breath of life was greater than my best burst dps...

I mean no offense, but your take is simply wrong. Every AOE is a counter to NB's. When they cloak, I just switch bars and spam steel tornado, it knocks them out of stealth every time. And I have yet to encounter one with the burst capabilities that you seem to think they have. The burst damage from wrecking blow is way more than anything a NB can produce using class skills.

Just to be clear, I am not saying NB's are weak, just that they are most certainly not "the most OP class in the game." That is just silly.

Or he could just roll a Nightblade himself like 80% of the PvP population. This Nightblade DLC formally known as Imperial City, is really lacking the presence of other classes. Even the magicka sorcs have re-rolled.

I think for MMORPG's like ESO, with so few limitations when it comes to gear + skills, you will always have that one class with a extra edge in PvP. As in more advantages and the hardest one to counter. It's just impossible for devs to fully predict how new gear, non-class skills, environment and passives will affect class balance.

Than of course all hardcore PvP'ers and attention hungry streamers, will jump on the bandwagon instantly and play that one class exclusively.

Used to be vamp DK + sorc than dominated PvP back in the days, than we had a very long period of everyone rocking 1vX DK for easy mode. In 1.6 you had mostly magicka sorc + stamblades on top and now it's the NB edition.

Most important rule: Whoever not playing current fotm class/builds have major l2p issues.

When you find that your playstyle is no longer as effective as it was, then you have to adapt. This is the way it always is when class mechanics are altered, and how it should be in MMOs or else they get boring. The incorrect response is to try and demand that the Devs nerf/alter other classes or basic mechanics of the game so that they better suit your playstyle. In other words: change how you play to suit the game, don't try to change the game to suit how you play.

I did have a problem with NB's at the beggining of this DLC, but I didn't assume the game was wrong, I recognized that there was someting wrong with how I was playing and I came here looking for advice along those lines. Now I don't have any problems against NB's because I approached them as a problem I needed to solve by altering how I played.

That is what the OP should be doing, asking "I am having a problem when fighting NB's, how do I fix that?" Not demanding the devs change NB's so that he can beat them without changing the way he plays.

Just watch the leaderboard in EU server :
45% top players are NB, 45% are sorcerers, other 10% is temp and dk. You just can't avoid facts bro'.

In cyro a well known guild leading the board is 100% composed of NB and sorcerers, no other classes... maybe because they are so skilled that they want to play "the weakest of all the classes". C'mon !
