Yah I don't know why but I just cant get the thing to work ever on my system.

    edit: crash reporter on startup.

On which part? Dx11? Or, mastereffects?

I just used the Reshade program called "Mediator". It injected the file automatically. I chose DX11, set up an ESO profile and checked the \client folder and the dxgi folder was there.

Shut off Shadowplay to make sure it was not interfering as the instructions suggest but no dice.

I'm sure if I switched to DX 9 it would work, but there is something about my system and DX11+ESO+sweetfx that just doesn't jive.

I never used mediator. I'd go without it. Go to your usersettings go to - SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D9" to SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11"

It already was. I've been through this before several months ago and it was hours of troubleshooting that got nowhere.

I have no problem using it for GW2 or LotRO but ESO causes problems.

On a day when I have more patience I may try again, but I don't want to spend all day trying to get this work. Been there, done that. Thanks for your help though.

Np, If I think of a way to help more in the future, i will. Goodluck and hope you manage to get it working!

    Hey I figured it out.

The key was while I am in the Mediator program to NOT push the "permanent push to application" button. Doing so will install the dxgi/shader files into the client folder which apparently ESO's anti cheat code will flag and prevent the game from starting (on my machine and not others apparently)

If you do not push that button then the Mediator program simply installs a shortcut link to the shaders which are stored in it's own folders outside of the ESO folders.

Now I can finally play with this stuff. :)

Oh, I see. Good to hear! Glad you finally figured it out :)

@KingArturia my next question is how do I tweak these settings to perform well on a gtx 760 running 5760x1080
I think I'm going to need a better graphics card to do this. I currently run 5760x1080 but may not have the power to run this setup with it. What graphics card do you guys think would be powerful enough to do my current resolution with this setup?

Hmm, not entirely sure.Currently using AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series, and I do it with perfect FPS, and no lag. You could try to lower the settings - Sharpness turn that down, HDR, turn that down. Maybe turn some of the lensflares down. (in your normal settings) Turn anti-ailising off, make sure vsync is off. Turn subsampling lower. and maximum particle systems.

If i think of more later, I'll let you know.

Thank you, you too. :) and I prefer sharpening, as it makes the world more detailed. Only thing is, it can mess with how your text looks. I managed to pretty much minimize that effect though, making it look nearly normal.

Also just remembered, if you're trying to get Mastereffects to work and can't, be sure to change the .h file to a .hh file. Not sure if you'll have any issues with that, but forgot to mention it earlier anyway.

A couple night scenes. I prefer a bit more subtle effects than some, but generally a bit more moody and eliminating the "washed out" effect so many games these days seem to have.

    After:

    After:
    Mediator%202015-09-06%2016-48-24.png

What's harder to see in these scenes is the SMAA effect which is an incredibly effective low cost AA technique. Also have a subtle lens flare but can't really see that at night.

    Yah it's completely subjective.

The most important thing for me is that night feels like night. In real life it's dark at night. Like pitch black. I try to get closer to that feel rather than the hazy blue that most games do at night so you can still see.

Most games don't go any darker than I would call "dusk".

Hate to be "that" guy, but I can't seem to find any up to date/recent instructions on how to get ReShade+MasterEffect to work with ESO. Last I tried 2 months ago, SweetFX gave me a hell of a headache (following what were then outdated tutorials), and in the end, I got the errors to stop happening, but then it wouldn't apply any of the settings I was using.

So, with all that out of the way, can anyone provide instructions, or a link to them? much appreciated :)

It's pretty easy, to be honest.
Let me recall what I did.

Download reshade, download sweetFX, download mastereffects. Change the .h file in mastereffects, into a .hh file.
Put them all in your client folder, for ESO. C: > The Elder Scrolls Online > Game > Client and ta-da. Change the settings around that you want. Should work. Might be forgetting something though.

I'll tell you how I got mine to work easily and without having to permanently place any files in the ESO folder.

Download and unzip Reshade 1.0 here: http://reshade.me/

    Use the program "Mediator" program.

That's pretty much it. One thing I did learn is not to press the "Permanently push this profile to program" button while using the Mediator program, as that will place the .dll files directly to the ESO folders and may cause anti-cheat error 16 messages from eso crash detector.

Instead just choose your program (eso.exe), make a profile and the program will just use a shortcut placed in ESO directory to the proper shaders in Reshades folders.

Reshade uses shaders from Sweetfx, Gemfx, Mcfx and Customfx so you can use any you like and it's in a nice GUI for easy use.

I was able to apply your mastereffect settings, but I can't find a sweet fx settings file that looks like yours. I copy-pasted yours entirely but it didn't work. Which file am I editing?

the Sweetfx you're looking for is sekta. Sekta's Enhancements. Hope you like the Custom Mastereffects settings I'm using. Took awhile to make it just how I like it.

Wow these are amazing! How can I achieve this effect? I would love to play with exagerated DOF, but i simply can't even start to make reshade work.
Are you using the same installation method of KingArturia?
Could you share your profile so we can just put it in the folder and play like that?

I tried several time exactly in this way. After I chose ESO client on the Mediator I than make a new profile and test it. The mediator "greets" me ingame, said it's working, and obviously no changes has still I have not edited the profile.
Than I downloaded Sekta profile from Reshade, and installed the folder (putting it inside the preset). I than select Sekta preset from the Mediator, to the right. Mediator says (upper box) that the preset is loaded, but once I'm in game, no clue if it works. I still have the hail message topleft, and a copyright something in the middle of my display... but no visual changes.
Than I went inside Sekta folder (inside the preset folder), and edited the McFX (master effect?), copy-pasting KingArturia settings. Than I went again on mediator and click update, Apply, launch the game (hail mediator!) and no visual changes...
What am I doing bad? My aim is to apply a strong depth of field, just in case.
    Thanks!

Been trying to get @KingArturia settings to work but having issues getting mastereffects to run with sweetfx and reshade. Which reshade download are you using, the framework one or the one bundled with sweetfx? I extract the sweetfx one to my eso directory and get your settings running fine for that but when I extract mastereffects there's a file named the same as in the sweetfx installation (reshade file) and I have to overwrite it to get mastereffects working. But then sweetfx isn't running. Anyway that's where I'm stuck, any help would be cool, thanks.
