Why is weapon bash not considered a "light attack" ?

Somehow bash (with your shield or weapon) is no meat and no fish.... no damage perk in the CP tree.... no light or heavy attack.
Weird... bashing fits, I think, perfectly in interactive combat play with combi's like: interupt bash, heavy attack, light attack....

and to the point of this post: bash does not proc for example Molag Kena

Is it overlooked?

"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

It's not an attack, it's not mean't to be offensive it's a interrupt so it is mean't to be used for defensive purposes.

If that is intended.... why does it then do damage at all !

but in real life a shield bash does do damage.... and with a buckler a shield bash is more an offensive weapon than anything else....
And with a big shield, like the roman shield, you push an opening to stab.

Exactly, in real world combat any action that causes damage or intent to damage is an attack, but then in the so true to life game that is ESO, the normal rules hardly if ever, apply.

    Shield attacks are always offensive.

Many warrior races have used shield bash before a thrust or hack.

Technically yeah its defensive also, and a interrupt, so its multi purpose.

Yeah... and that matches perfectly with combi's in combat: interupt, put of balance, force an opening, etc etc...
And I accept fully that a game needs some liberty to move away from reality, but here the "ESO bash" fits pretty well to reality.

The point I try to make is therefore: "why is a bash not considered as a light attack by ESO?"
Integral, not only the damage, that is pretty much the same as a light attack, but also the status: it can proc.

A bash attack is better than a simple light attack, since it can interrupt + "CC" a target. After this happenes, the player gets some nice bonuses, as 10% more dmg (CP), etc. (not going to write them all, as well as what kind of CC it is).
That is why a bash attack is "better", or let's say "different"
