A police office is interviewing a serious suspect for a major crime. The suspect has not been charged with anything.

The officer tells the suspect counting off his fingers in one hand:-

"... I have a witness that can blow away your alibi."

"... I have a witness that saw you running from the scene of the crime."

"... I have a witness that says they are willing to attend an ID parade and will confidently pick you out as the criminal."

".. I have a witness statement detailing your actions during the crime."

"... I have a witness who found the weapon you used in the commission of this crime."

How many witnesses does the officer have?

Based on what I've seen in some places where there are super easy puzzles, I don't think the MMO crowd can handle actual puzzles and riddles.

You know that one puzzle in Khenarthi's Roost where you have to touch panels in the order of the phases of the moon? I've sat in that room watching people get the order wrong over and over and over and over... I mean, I learned the phases of the moon in elementary school, so I just don't get how there are people who can't figure that one out. Besides which, there's a cheat sheet in the room that actually tells you the order! And yet people still get stuck there...

Must have went to a private school, I know astronomy students in college that don't know the phases of the moon!

On topic, I do wish they had more puzzles in this game, but people would lose their mind.
Nope, public school. Perhaps the fact that it was here in Canada makes a difference? And please tell me you're exaggerating when you say you know college astronomy student who don't know the phases of the moon... Because if that's true it makes me really really sad for the state of the education system wherever you are.

Speaking of riddles and puzzles, what in the hell happened with the Lightless Oubliette prism room!?

Was about ready to just leave King Dynars crusty *** in there
@Caligamy_ESO a bug was introduced that causes extreme delays for the beam of light to show up when you rotate the crystal. As long as you know this, you can still complete the "puzzle" (it's really not much of a puzzle) easily. The best thing I found is to zoom out your view, and watch the crystal prism from overhead as you're rotating it. You'll see that the glow on one side will be larger - that's the side where the beam will be coming from, even if it hasn't shown up yet. If the side with the larger glow is towards where you want the beam to go, do not rotate the crystal again, just wait 30 seconds or so for the beam of light to show up.

In the pink living room there's a pink couch with pink cushions and a few pink pillows, with a pink lamp that radiates pink light with a pink TV and a pink PC and a pink carpet, with a pink unicorn. There's a pink bookcase with pink books about pink things. In the pink bedrooms there's a couple pink beds with pink blankets and more pink pillows with pink stuffed-animals with pink eyes with pink fur and pink tails, even the people that live in the pink house are pink.

    What color are the stairs?

@Yonkit The stairs to the basement are pink.

What is a foot with no toes?

Probably another DK nerf. /cry (Ah foot)

I just like to run in and kill things. I don't really want to run in swords blazing, flame in one hand as Molag Bal reaches down, picks me up and says, "Riddle me this."

I think the depressing part of all this is that most developers agree with you, think the majority of gamers are like that, and so will only design content with you in mind. I don't see why we can't have some dungeons specifically themed around challenging puzzles, especially in an open world MMO.

How about an ancient ruin that (and this may sound blasphemous for an MMO) has NO ENEMIES inside at all. It's genuinely an ancient and abandoned ruin. Yet it's filled with puzzles, traps, and mazes, and although many rewards are in long lost treasure chests they could also reward us with new lore discoveries.

It's open world. Players who want combat only can just skip those dungeons.

yeahhhhh.... I would love that :)

First game I played that had really nice puzzles and riddles was in 1991 Ultima Underworld, the Stygian Abyss.
.... BTW on a 386 they achieved the amazing feat to get really good first person 3D.

And it was full of puzzles and riddles.... and no googling to get dished up the answers >:)

But, considering the MMO character of this game, I would not use them as a condition to finish Quests, but just have them as a kind of Easter Eggs, rewarded by nice loot !
... and of course the Achievement

We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

I can live with or without puzzles and riddles, they're fun but not essential in a MMORPG.

What I cannot abide under any circumstances is platform jumping. I hate with a passion any quest or so-called "puzzle" that depends on maneuvering your character to the exact right spot on one platform facing the exact right direction (which changes when you step back to get a run in) with the exact right pressure on the mouse button or key to land safely on the next platform failing which you start over. If I wanted to play an action-arcade game I wouldn't be playing a MMORPG.

Bugs are why I really don't mind that the puzzles are easy. Chances are a bug will be introduced that makes it harder than intended. A year and a half after launch and this is a new one.

Remember the olden days when another player could come barging in and with one touch mess up the items that you had so carefully positioned in several of the puzzle quests?

Happy All the Holidays To You and Yours!

you cannot think of this game as an elderscrolls game...you will just dissapoint yourself...instead think of it as a game that was slightly inspired by TES...you will not find the same calibre of puzzles no, but they do not have a good mechanism to give you that puzzle expierience in a online setting....there are a few puzzles that are hard as hell though...maybe 2 of them per faction and some things are not spelled out for you at all and are completely unclear...so..I will agree the puzzle/riddles system is bugged and broken, but not to a degree that the game is unplayable...just to a point to make thos things unenjoyable.

I have not seen good puzzles in TES games. Maybe Battle Spire but that was because the Imps kept hitting me when ever I tried to advance things.

I'm not a huge fan of the Tomb Raider games, however the puzzle aspect does throw a monkey wrench in the hum drum of otherwise mundane games. I'm not saying that I want some Da Vinci's Code level puzzles, but I'm all for using my brain to progress.

Well, with all due respect to the game which has many qualities, it is worst than a lack of riddles: the quests lines have no real choices or diverging paths. The choices in red, which are supposed to have some possible impact, do not. Each race has a linear path.
