ESO Lack of riddles and puzzle solving

Is it just me or does ESO not have any challenging puzzle or riddles? I have not seen one that left me stumped.

Example :" I dream with no mind, yet I have memory. Within me I contain countless worlds and alternate realities, Yet I am small and flat.I bring great freedom through others control. What am I?"

Based on what I've seen in some places where there are super easy puzzles, I don't think the MMO crowd can handle actual puzzles and riddles.

You know that one puzzle in Khenarthi's Roost where you have to touch panels in the order of the phases of the moon? I've sat in that room watching people get the order wrong over and over and over and over... I mean, I learned the phases of the moon in elementary school, so I just don't get how there are people who can't figure that one out. Besides which, there's a cheat sheet in the room that actually tells you the order! And yet people still get stuck there...

I hate riddles and puzzles with a passion. I don't care how many they put in the game as long as each one has an optional quick bypass.

Actually I would prefer an option in the Game settings to auto solve ALL puzzles...

Yeah there's not enough of this type of challenge.

When you get down to the bare bones of most content in the game or any MMO, it's reduced enemy HP bar, maintain self HP bar with some fancy lights in and around it all. I'd be curious to see how well MMO players do at managing a Pub or Restaurant due to having all this Bar management practice.

The only thing that comes close to a puzzle challenge is that one Public Dungeon Group Event in the Alik'r Desert. Where you have to stand on specific pressure plates at the same time. It was simple, but I actually enjoyed doing that more with another person than just killing something with them. I most likely enjoyed that more because it was different, not the same old kill these, kill that or kill these to pop this and kill that scenarios.

They're different styles and I know I'm making dungeon boss fights sound boring, but of course they're still fun to do most of the time. Puzzles may be more suited for solo play, but I'd still be interested in seeing some group puzzles and being something that isn't the same each time you attempt.

I guess I miss playing the old Tomb Raider games, I found figuring out those those puzzles fun lol.

Must have went to a private school, I know astronomy students in college that don't know the phases of the moon!

On topic, I do wish they had more puzzles in this game, but people would lose their mind.

You know that's funny you mention that, I learned the proper names for the phases of the moon and what they mean from FFXI. LOL

When it comes to learning real world knowledge to figure something out in a game or to understand something better in a game. You can damn well guarantee players will learn it and put it to use.

But when it comes to learning this knowledge and using it in real life, unless you're passionate about a certain subject, lol nope!

Same. But than I noticed how stupidly easy ESO riddles are. The answer is in the closest book or on some wall, just spin the camera, it's even faster than opening your browser :dizzy:

They could definitely make puzzles and riddles harder. Slackers like you and I, will use Google anyway. While people who enjoy it, will get something to work on.

There's a one-story pink house with a pink door, pink windows with pink shutters and pink glass, there's a pink rug and pink tiles, pink walls, and pink roofing. The kitchen is pink with pink silver-ware and a pink fridge, the sink is pink and the stove is pink. The dish-washer is pink and the tables are pink with pink chairs. In the pink living room there's a pink couch with pink cushions and a few pink pillows, with a pink lamp that radiates pink light with a pink TV and a pink PC and a pink carpet, with a pink unicorn. There's a pink bookcase with pink books about pink things. In the pink bedrooms there's a couple pink beds with pink blankets and more pink pillows with pink stuffed-animals with pink eyes with pink fur and pink tails, even the people that live in the pink house are pink.

Well to be fair riddles have been in Fantasy long before hack and slash. Like the greek myth about the Riddle of the Sphinx. If you could not answer correctly it would fight you. Could do the same thing in ESO have a creature that offers a riddle. Answer it correctly gain a great reward. Answer it incorrectly have to battle it gain a lesser reward. Would open up a whole new depth to the game.

If I were a developer I would have it tell a new riddle every week so one can not simply google the answer.

It's extremely rare currently to get a game with difficult puzzles that isn't specifically a puzzle game. I 100% would love more puzzles and riddles, even really difficult ones, but it lends itself poorly to an MMO since you can just look up a handy walkthrough and get the same rewards as those who figure it out on their own.

    Puzzle.
You are alive at midnight, and an infinite and unavoidable series of immortal Grim Reapers have planned to kill you. Grim reaper #1 will kill you at 1am if you are still alive. Grim reaper #2 will kill you at 12:45am if you are still alive. Grim Reaper #3 will kill you at 12:30am if you are still alive and so on approaching infinitely toward midnight. You cannot survive past midnight, and yet you can never be killed by a reaper at any time period. How is this possible?

At least ESO has -some- puzzles and riddles... though I agree most are just too darn easy. I mean, really most puzzles have the answer written right on the walls... some at least require people to pay some attention...
I can remember games that did not even offer that much.

Although... I do sometimes wish there was a "riddle difficulty" setting in the game preferences, so you can choose to kick it up a notche... decide on your own if you want the riddles from the "easy" selection, or are ready for a bit of a challenge...
