Refining mats, suddenly my equipped gear got deconstructed in the mix!

Title says it all.

I was refining voidstone ore.

Suddenly I get nirncrux and temp alloy and thought, WTF?

I take a look at my gear, and see that my equipped whitestrakes legendary helmet is gone. IT GOT DECONSTRUCTED?!?

Now support page is down....

ZOS you owe me 7 temp alloys, now worth 9k each on eu server. Thats 63k. And you gotta fix severe bugs like these.

What the hell? So you were refining ore, and not even deconstructing gear, and somehow equipped gear got deconstructed? That's messed up... It shouldn't even be possible to decon equipped gear from the decon tab, let alone from the refine tab! Was the helmet VR16? If so, it's not just the tempers you lost, it's also a lot of grind-to-get mats...

Same thing happened to me with my Heavy Divines Engine Helm. Here was the response from CS:

As it happens, I am unable to restore the helm to you. Since you received items from the deconstruction, you received compensation and are technically whole. We deeply apologize for being unable to fulfill this request (even for employees).

Yeah it sucks, but that's exactly what they're going to tell you.

I'm not being a jerk, just curious because this is a really big deal if true. You are absolutely sure you were on the refine tab, and not the decon tab and were currently wearing the helm in question? Good god man if this is the case you have my sympathy.

Oh yeah.... me too. My entire set of legendary gear got decon'd. ZOS you OWE me a full set. It just so happened to be all Nirnhoned.... and in the Xivkyn motif..... and with legendary tri stat runes on each piece. Yeah.......

Sucks if that really happened. I don't want this turning into the vamp/warewolf bite thing where everyone posts a sob story about getting scamed so that 20 nice guys step in and offer them a free bite.

How much of a jerk would you feel if this actually happened to you? I believe him. You know why? Because its not hard to get some temp alloys. Why the hell would anyone lie about a CRAFTED set piece getting decon'd while refining ores? Its not like he said it was a Helm/Shoulder piece, it wasn't anything that he cant make again.

OP, This is a serious bug and if customer support says that since you got stuff back from it your good, Id raise hell if I were you. Because that's straight up glitch, not the fault of the player.

Even aside from this bug, its a pain in the ass having to worry about accidentally deconstructing a armor piece or weapon IN YOUR BANK that you wanted to save.

Would prefer to.only be able to recon stuff on your bag, or lock items.

I love the decon from bank. I use it all the time with glyphs and other gear since I use multiple characters.

Pathetic. Bugs from beta coming back into the game, players fault for not taking measure against the bugs.

I'll remember this and never wear a helm while de-conning stuff.

Another anti-player friendly quality of life adjustment. Next we'll need to get 10 page fragments in order to get one page fragment.

That is the most garbage response that there can be.

@ZOS_RichLambert , can you have the customer service team, you know, consider returning the gear in exchange for THE COMPENSATION OF DECONSTRUCTING THE GEAR.

Here, you get 1 deconstructed item in exchange for the nirncrux and tempering alloy that your received. Problem solved, maybe I should be head of the customer support team.

And if this old bug is really back, shame on CS for brushing off customer concerns instead of forwarding it to the dev team to investigate. What's coming next, the old inventory bugs? Come to think of it I'm missing a glass motif, 25x perfect roe, a bloodspawn helm (vr14 of course), and #1 psijic ambrosia fragment. I could swear they was there but then I checked they weren't. Must be a bug! Can I get a dev to stop his work on fixing the load screens so they can look into that for me?

Man I feel for these people in this thread. I haven't lost a single piece of anything. Since I'm on Xbox I was told to simply record the situation when it happens, if it happens. Are you sure you didn't accidentally switch to the Decon tab? I know how refining mats go you just spam the button for it lol.

Please no, If the bug came back which removed all your gold from the bank I'd stop playing for a couple years.

hmm, refined a voidstone and whatever else I had but nothing equipped got lost then again the helmet I had on was a random crap green one. If I ever do see this happen I will report back here.

I had to write 3 times to support until they listened to me and told me they were gonna bring it to the dev team. But I don't blame them, cause theres probably a lot of crybabies trying to get refunded gold for their own mistakes.

And yeah, I'm 100% sure I was refining ore. I'm selling for 1-2M every day in my trade guilds and I refine thousands of mats daily.

Also, the helm was equipped, so this shouldn't even happen in decon UI.

Very serious bug.

I did not get any gold back from support though. A bit of a let down.

Truth is I don't really need the gold cause I'm a millionaire in game, but for some people that don't spend all their time trading 63K is a lot of gold and this could happen to anyone.
