Lots of people use keyboards on their consoles, probably more than you realise, Have you polled the entire PS4 community to find out the percentage whom would find it useful or is your summation of it being "worthless" just pure speculation on your part Watson?
I fail to see why a minority are so against text chat for consoles, it was originally in the port over but switched off for reasons unknown, the code is most likely still in there, Having the option for an extra form of communication is not a bad thing, it's actually beneficial.

The 5*500 guild members is an argument I had not considered, for this group text chat is probably convenient. Still, it's a relatively small group and "on the streets" text chat is worthless.
So I keep to my point, text chat is not worth implementing.

Something everyone had overlooked.
Console players, on average, use communication for abusing others.
I don't want to see non stop test scrolling with people arguing.

You are putting words in my mouth, what I said was that it's about a "relatively small group" that needs textchat because they have too much guild interaction for a mic. That's the only group that could benefit from text chat in my opinion and yeay, that's a relatively small group.
Another incorrect assumption on your part is that I am "against" text chat. I'm not. I just don't think it's neccessary.
Stop acting like this is some sort of battle where you can win or lose, and try to be constructive ok?

Let me destroy everybody's counterargument real quick.
1) Spam bots in the chat.
A. Ignore/mute function
2) Chat box obscures the screen
A. Optional toggle for Chat box
3) Just use your damn voice
A. Players should not feel obligated to speak just to get through content. (Also some players' voices are just good god)
4) Not everybody has a keyboard
A. Keyboards these days are very cheap. Wired or unwired. The one I use was $7 used at a store.

Regarding #4, an in-game keyboard can be used similar to texting on a phone. Sure, it's not ideal but it would be all-inclusive and entirely optional (and free!) for everyone.

You're right and after reading few post about chatbox, I gotta admit that I changed my mine. I voted no earlier today but now I say that could be useful for alot of good reason. Some people get in the game and leave the vocal chat right away so sometime it's pretty hard to get in touch with them, you're doing some dungeon and nobody answer cause they are not on the chat, at least if we have a chatbox we could tell them to get on vocal chat or communicate a little bit more than just with emote. Sure the chatbox will need to be moderate because without moderation, it's going to be a free-for-all of spammy post. Not sure that's what we are looking for.
Having a chatbox could be useful for those who speak another language. Like french people trying to communicate with english might be easier on a chatbox than a vocal chat. I am french from canada and I speak english but when I first start learning english I was really shy to speak english so I was typing instead

I doubt the devs even thought of the particular problems that we have in the EU and how voice communication is more difficult here.
You know like they didnt think of
The deaf.
Mutes.
People with anxiety disorders
People who are shy.
People who maybe play in a noisy environment and cant talk.
Some women (including my missus) who dont like the response they get when some men discover they are talking to a female.
And all the other groups who are affected by this that I cant think of off the top of my head right now
I still find it staggering they exclude all these people from enjoying their product and for what? Because they decided they didnt like the thought of playing with a keyboard near you? No i'm sorry but I lost respect for zos a long time ago because of this. Not that they care.

The idea isn't certainly bad, but crying about doesn't help a lot.
You really want to make clear to the dev team you need TextChat?
Connect a keyboard to your console now.
They probably measure how many people actually use a keyboard. If few people do there's no incentive for the dev team to reward you with TextChat.

Why would devs check who uses a keyboard
I have to connect by keyboard through usb whoch is taken by my controller charger and headphones.
If we could use keyboards id remove the controller charger....
Anyways....keyboard support isnt even implemented on console yet so why would i bother using a keybaord or go through the inconvience of having it plugge din?
I dont browse the web on my ps4, i use my phone.
I could use it for ps4 messaging...but again if im not co stantly using my keyboard, its an inconvenience, and to be honest, i could just use my phone. It makes it noce and easy to be able to keep an eye on my game while i try to send a message on my phone
So yeah if eso was trying to test who actually had keyboards plugged in...they would be dumb because there is no point for us to have a keyboard in right now since the game doesnt support it
