Templar or Nightblade Archer

 Red_Crusade
Hey everyone, I need some help making a decision on what kind of a character I should make. I wanna make a character thats like me in a way. So that means it definitely needs to be an archer; it has to use a bow. I need a little help choosing my class though.

I want to have a class that does a decent amount of damage, but also allows me to heal my allies a decent amount of health too. So with that in mind should I choose templar? I know they have ranged attack skills and healing skills which seems like a good class to choose for me, but I was wondering should I go with nighblade? I haven't looked into nightblade that much but I know they do have some skills that heal their allies and they have a lot of skills to deal good damage. I just want to have a character that can basically do damage just as well as it can heal allies. Im pretty sure I should go with the templar, but I'm not too sure.

And as for the weapons, Obviously I'm more of a ranged attack player so I'm definitely going to use a bow, but I do use one handed weapons when it fits the part (sometimes I dual wield daggers). So for my secondary weapon should I dual wield daggers, use a healing staff, just use the bow, or something else?

Please let me know what your thoughts are. They are ALL appreciated. Thanks for the help!

I have both and based on what I saw I feel that NBs are better for healing and damage over time the siphoning ultimate can be morphed into an ally burst heal the problem is that most healing only works if you can target enemies and you have to morph your skills to heal allies. the thing with NBs is that you must always chose between self or allies. if you use NBs you should try resto staff to gain more magicka. NB are better for the bow because of cripple. the templars are the better balance between dps and healing and the ultimate to heal is essential. they are better at burst healing and the most sought out class in groups, also the least expected to be a DPS. they are better at instant healing and damage.

I think it depends on how you play. If you're rolling solo then you could be either. If you ate going to do a lot of group stuff and don't like waiting then be a healer templar. If you want to gank in pvp go Nightblade. If I we're you I would base my decision on which class has the most versatility because you might not like the role you choose to play as. I'm a Nightblade and I would much rather tank. Anyone can tank or dps, but a templar is made for healing. If you play a templar then expect people to want you to heal or off heal.

The healing from NB and Templar scale with magicka, while bow used stamina. So either way, your going to have a hard time.

If you're going to go stamina(bow) and try healing your healing is going to suffer big time. I tried doing so on my bowplar when I came back and quickly gave it up. My heals were pathetic and wasted valuable slots which with proper skills help my team survive more since I do more damage.

If you are looking at pure bow I feel both are decent but NB would be better. I rolled with templar thinking because they have so many cc type skills but with cc immunity and bosses not being affected it really puts me at a disadvantage to a NB bow since they have a bit more dps skills to throw in.

For healing if you go magica and drop the bow. Templar is seen as more of a reactive healer and NB is more of a HoT pre-emptive healer. In reality not many skills differ but NB sacrifices a burst smart targeting heal for a HoT damage skill.

I may try going nightblade first to see how it goes. But I'm not limiting myself to use only a bow, like i said, I'm also willing to use other weapons you think might be better for the healing part.
