What I don't understand is why they couldn't update the old sets to v16, then put them behind the same grind as the new sets. It would still keep people playing, so no loss there. Maybe they're planning to do it with Orsinium? If they told the truth, it stays v16, so by withholding that jewelry until then they create an easy and cheap way to make people grind for v16 set twice - today because it's the only option, tomorrow because they can finally get sets they prefer.Yolokin_Swagonborn wrote: »Well that's what happens when you take a long awaited portion of the game that was supposed to be released under a subscription model, then rip out all of the planned and promised PvP mechanics such as holding territory, and add an extreme grinding aspect to the game that becomes the only reason to play.
We had some many awesome v14 endgame jewelry sets. You could buy them with AP and sell them to buy more tripots and repair kits. It was a thriving economy.
ZOS killed that thriving economy for a tel val currency that no one asked for and forced people to grind sets that no one wanted.
We have three endgame jewlery sets now. Three. Down from 15+ No one would ever care about them if the other sets were in V16. They are only BIS because they have a monopoly.
The Imperial City could have been an amazing DAOC-like PvP zone. Instead, its a gear grinding moshpit with occasional ganking and instagib exploits.

Both DLC are at v16 so they split the gear between them. To stay competitive when both are in Live you need to have access to the gear out of both.
Gotta keep people paying, and if the old sets were viable the need for DLC purchase would diminish.

Oh wow that's bloody devious. Everyone grinds their face off for lackluster jewelry they dont want.
Then ZOS is like, "guess what's back by popular demand!!" All that jewelry you liked but now in v16, locked behind a paywall of course.
Or perhaps they will only drop in that new trial. I think I'm going to be sick.
