It's a ZOS issue, not a player issue. You can't blame players if they've mastered a tiny bit of dated content with the resources you've handed them. ZOS needed to keep content flowing to match the progression of its biggest fans.
And they haven't. Nobody needs a cap. Nobody needs a catch-up. ZOS needs to release grander, exciting, more challenging content so that more people want to play more and be part of the powerful minority who gets to experience the biggest, baddest battles imaginable.
But when you show up in shorts to a professional recording, you're basically telling me you're all right with mediocrity. So whatever. Make some more average, short-sighted decisions. Appease the weekend casual console gamer, instead of rewarding those few long-term PC players who actually seem to give a damn about being prepared for the best your game will have to offer.
Those players must scare ZOS. When you have players who actually play the game there's suddenly this demand to add things to it. No more glacial pace. No more excuses. Some scary stuff right there.

You guys HAVE all figured out this is yet ANOTHER reason for vet players to STOP playing the game, right? Progression stops at the cap..
By "vet players" do you mean players with veteran rank or "experienced" players?
If you mean players that have reached veteran rank, then I can tell you that the majority of those won't even have earned 1 CP per day and if you take console into consideration, most players haven't even reached Veteran rank, so why the hell would ZOS care about the tiny percentage of people that are going to be above the cap anyway? People who have invested a hug amount of time into the game are unlikely to quit so worst case scenario they lose a fraction of a percent to this change.
yea small fact.. he just might have forgotten to mention that the guy was an emp.. ^^
as duo it seems not that hard to do, guild mate does it with dk & temp. no emperor, no 1000cp+Hmm, taking away something already achieved only to feed it back in small doses does not sound like a great idea either. So pretty much they are losing out. I have like 40cp right now so it definitely won't affect me, but I can see the injustice of it.
this. PLUS the fact that capped people cant progress their characters any more once they got their equip.. but yea.

So what hes got lets say 1K CP at the moment and cap for season will be lets say 500 ... till u grind to 500 u gonna cry like a baby for 6 months or more xD

That bold part is WWWhhhwwwwaaaaaay OFF...
I do not think I even know 3 players out of all five of my guilds that do not have at least 1 VET rank character yet.
Most if not everyone I know had a VR14 and working on an ALT before IC came out.
This is what is wrong with a lot of the thinking around here..
People underestimate the "Console" Players willingness to "GRIND" there are a hell of a lot more "Console" players willing to grind now days than there are PC players.
The best guild that I have found on Console consist of mostly husbands and house wives.. All of them ADULT's... To this day there has not been one "Squeaker" kid in the guild. Real people with jobs, kids, things going on, but still ESO is NOT that hard of a game to level in....

The way it was headed this game would NEVER be looked at or considered by a "new" player within 8 months from now lol.
Something had to be done and I for one agree with this... It could have been removal, but at least this way it has a smaller fallout from the grinders point of view.

By saying, we are waiting until Orcsinium to implement the caps, they are saying, its not really an emergency. We can wait three months to fix this problem we were warned about while testing this system on the PTS. And we in no way thought that a player could get this powerful using the current system.
Well TBH it honestly wouldn't be an emergency to them. If they have decided that this is the solution they are going to take then it wouldn't matter if they started the cap an hour from now or 6 months from now.. People will only have access to only the amount of CP's the cap allows.

YOU need to learn to hear..
They are not going to respec, EVER AGAIN attributes or skill points, BECAUSE the players are upset by it.
SO, the players need to become upset by the proposed CP respec, because they dont remember where they put their CPs before, and ZoS will let it go. Or, have you missed that they have done that.. HOW many times before?

Veteran as in, experienced with ESO. Your comment sounds like a consoler. I have people in my PVP guild with 8 VR14s and over 1K CP.I hit VR with my first character over a year ago. I am probably one of the lowest in my raiding PvE or PVP guild, with only 168. A lot of them have hit level 50 350-500 times.
Vet players:
who finished everything except Crag before August of last year,
who have been playing without new content since September of last year after burning thru Crag,
who burned through IC within two weeks and are getting burned out from grinding mobs instead of PVP
OR who found the PVP in IC distasteful but did it until they couldnt stand having their TV stones taken, AGAIN, by gankers
who were told that the VR system would not go above VR10,
who were told that the VR system would not go above VR14,
who were told that the VR system would not go above VR16,
due to being told PC was on back burner because of consoles...
Those people, the numbers of which are already decreasing, are going to leave the game without seeing something for their work. You apparently dont understand, based on your last comment....
Gamers leave games because they are bored. A lot of long time PC players are bored. They are not enjoying the game. Heck I am here because, as a lifetime Tolkien fan I got bored of Lotro. (well, that and they pretty much threw the books into the fires of Mordor and started worshipping the false god Peter Jackson.)And I am starting to get bored.
Empty words from the producer, and seeing what a game COULD be, only goes so far when the reality that the end game is a boring grind of getting CP, which has no benefit because you wont see the results for over a year. These are the guys who subbed for, and many continue until their current sub runs out and pay the lighting bill for the people who think the game is "free".
<Edit:> BTW, I feel I need to clarify something. I was pretty much dismayed to find out people already had 2K champ points, but, frankly I was not surprised. The elite, top players do anything they can to be the "best" players in the game. I worked my fanny off to get both my chanter and druid in the top 25s of my EQ server leaderboards at the same time.
What I dont understand is how ZoS "could not imagine anyone would have 2K already". If there is no caps, the goal is to get more than anyone in your guild, more than anyone that you know, more than .. it just keeps going up from there. Then its, well, I am now double what my closest competition, can I make it triple?

500 is way too high if they take console players into account. It's more likely they will stick to the 300 number they initially threw out there because that corresponds pretty well to the inflection point of 1CP per day caused by enlightenment.

4) Adding a CP cap is a temporary fix that does not address #'s 1-3.
5) CP need to be entirely reworked to offer players a choice in playing style, not a straight buff across multiple areas.
6) Non-CP campaigns will continue to be requested until #'s 1-5 are solved since players want a fair environment based on player skill and build strength, not time spent grinding/exploiting.
7) CP negatively affect PvE areas and the newest dungeons are proof of that as high CP groups are burning through the content while low CP groups are still struggling to clear them. See also #1.
tl;dr: CP are ruining the balance of the game and need to be changed in order to keep ESO attractive to both veteran and new players alike.
He said they'll be resetting CP if you're over the cap once Orsinium hits.
Jump up and down.
Beat metal pans.
Cry
Scream
Moan.
Threaten lawsuits about being locked out of content you paid for because you already had them before the caps took effect.
ZoS WILL back down. They have proven it time and again.
