@ZOS_RichLambert announced more details on CP caps on ESO Live today. They will come with Orcsinium and prevent you from spending over the cap they provide. You can still earn them, just cant use them until the next cap raise.

Thank the dude who soloed Molag Bal, btw.

Also, we now have 2 guys with over 2K champ points, 15-17 others with over 1400 and.. the rest of us.

Now, he also said they wont be resetting skill points and attributes, thanks to the whiners who couldnt figure out their build again after the last reset.

What this means is, IF they play this the way they have other things, and if nothing changes, they wont take away what you have, and it wont be wiped out with a CP reset. So,, get yourself a huge number of CP, blast them into whatever you think is uber, and then sit back, ,with your arm held out holding the head of the dude trying to kill you. Then, laugh and one-shot him, because you are over cap and he is no where near.

Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
Where is new content? Sigh.

So does that mean you will lose the CP you earned or will they sit there ready to use for the next cap advance? Either way it is a bad decision. On one hand you will have the why can't I use what I have earned slant?! On the other hand you will just have bursts of power from the people who are already far ahead on CP.

If people in fact lose their earned CP I would see an exodus occurring.

I think they should just make Cp caps in different campaigns. Because that's the only content that affects people who have less Cp than the other.

That the Champion Point system is working about as well as the Vet Level system.

So then they will set a trigger of when the average has hit say 2500 stones then bump the cap so basically no "horizontal" advancement as everyone will have the same options? I will go see if it is posted online yet so I can watch the replay and see what I can take from it.

This is pretty much it right here. Delay the problem a few months or a year. When the cap is over 1500 some time down the road, new players still won't have a catch up mechanism in play and we have the same problem all over again.

This is an awesome change IMO. It means the way people spend there points will be more important!
It hurts nobody and helps everyone, as people with lots have to do nothing when the cap increases and people with less are never to far behind that they run into OP players.

I much prefer this to opening a no cp server, as we already have the player base separated to much

Rich was.. sketchy.. saying they also have plans for a catchup system... which will be fun when those with 2K CP level their under VR level alts with those 2K CP AND the catch-up system, because, you know.. bugs...

The way I understand it, the c-points will still be there, you just won't be able to spend more then the cap. Which means... all the CP farmers can... [long string of numerous further comment about them censored to conform to forum rules] ;)
Aehm. -wipes foam off the lips-
    Anyways...

And all the 99% who haven't been spending all their time grinding out huge CP numbers all day, every day, will rejoyce! Because then they will feel like they may have a chance again in PvP... ("feel". Even when everything is equal, I found that some people are just too darn good in PvP for casual players like me... but hey, I knew that before ever setting foot in cyrodil... and I can live with getting my behind handed to me by someone who's just better)

And the CP farmers, once they have gotten over their inevitable tantrum... can take it easier, knowing that as soon as the next phase hits they will jump ahead to the new cap right away, and still be at the top of the food chain one way or another. And will still earn CP for their usualy playing, just won't have that much incentive to do hardcore grinding anymore - which will make a lot of the casual players sleep better, and more importantly, stay with ESO when some were considering leaving due to "never being able to catch up to the CP grinders"

In any way, I think the CP caps are a good decision! And should have been implemented right from the start, but obviously someone kinda underestimated just how much CP the grinders can grind out...

There doing CP respects when/if the cap comes so every one will be at that cap level so those 2 with 2K plus are no longer gonna be gods. Learn to hear.

Also to those 2 hope the endless PvP farming and ganking was worth it.

YOU need to learn to hear..

They are not going to respec, EVER AGAIN attributes or skill points, BECAUSE the players are upset by it.

SO, the players need to become upset by the proposed CP respec, because they dont remember where they put their CPs before, and ZoS will let it go. Or, have you missed that they have done that.. HOW many times before?

Was obvious from the start those that used the CP exploit at the start and grinded like crazy were wasting their time...

Anyone who blew cash on exp scrolls to grind 1000+ CP again wasted their time...

We all knew this was coming...

Is why I did not bother to grind..

Yea thats kind of funny. They really brought EXP Pots into the game, even to Crown store. Just before announcing a cap on CPs. What the hell.

I would say that would be a hard case to make. Given the transient nature of MMO's if you as a consumer choose to use an offered item to get to a certain point in a game that will change that is your choice.

A refund for what? You're not losing anything. You just won't have access to the points until the cap is raised, they'll still be there.

Do you think the mega grinder buys them from the crown store? I would assume a grinder is going to be getting so much gold from selling loot, etc, that they'd be able to buy the crafted version from the guild stores at under 3500 gold each.

Has anyone really been harmed, or is this just a theoretical harm that someone may have perceived might of happened? You would of had to of purchased scrolls from the crown store, and be over the new cap at the time the new DLC releases. And the harm, if any, would be minimized by the fact that they aren't losing those CP, they're just delaying their use.

It's a ZOS issue, not a player issue. You can't blame players if they've mastered a tiny bit of dated content with the resources you've handed them. ZOS needed to keep content flowing to match the progression of its biggest fans.

And they haven't. Nobody needs a cap. Nobody needs a catch-up. ZOS needs to release grander, exciting, more challenging content so that more people want to play more and be part of the powerful minority who gets to experience the biggest, baddest battles imaginable.

But when you show up in shorts to a professional recording, you're basically telling me you're all right with mediocrity. So whatever. Make some more average, short-sighted decisions. Appease the weekend casual console gamer, instead of rewarding those few long-term PC players who actually seem to give a damn about being prepared for the best your game will have to offer.

Those players must scare ZOS. When you have players who actually play the game there's suddenly this demand to add things to it. No more glacial pace. No more excuses. Some scary stuff right there.
