Please allow Elemental Drain and other mechanics to proc on damage shields

This has been request many times in the past. Damage shields offer a 100% crit resistance, that's alright. But do they really need to negate even more mechanics ?
I don't see why abilities such as Elemental Drain and Force Siphon aren't allowed to proc on damage shields. Damage shields negate too many things and totally counter some abilities, that would be fun to use in pvp, but it won't work against too many targets.

Also NPC damage shields disable elemental drain etc.
We've allowed quite a few sets to proc on damage shields with this update, time to allow these abilities to do the same :) This would open the gates for some new builds, something that can be usefull in general. Because right now it's more like 'Well, I could use this against a few targets, but too many targets will be immune to this. I'd rather take something universal and reliable instead'

I think, this is an important step, that should have happened much earlier.

I do believe this happens cause you have to do damage to the target for the return. Shields don't count as a target when they take your damage.

Same way a stealth hit on a shield does stun the player hit unless you do at lease 1 point of health damage. there is so much wrong with shields.
    Chaos Shadow-Scale: Shadow Archer
    Chaos Death-Scale: Shadow Knight
    Tanks-With-Sap-Essence: Dark Mage
Dark Brotherhood Listener: Blade of Argonia
    Chaos Dragon-Scale: Draconic Shield Master
    Chaos Light-Scale: Marsh Paladin
    Chaos Lightning-Scale: Daedric Master
    Hurricane Chaos: Storm Archer
    Bask-In-My-Light: Warrior of The Light
    Forged-In-Dragon-Fire: Pyro Mage
Guardian of The Hist: Light Mender
Chaos of Black Marsh: Master of The Burning Sword
Star of Chaos: Frost Blade Champion
    Chaos-Lightning-Tower: Lightning Shield Master

    For the King of Argonia
May Sithis hold back his Void

Right, that's the issue. But I know that Zenimax knows how to do this.
You remember 1.6 defensive rune ? It hits only if you take health damage, because hitting the shield does not count as a hit.
But in 1.7 they have changed this to instantly hit, even when shields are hit.

They know how to change this and I hope, they would do the same with elemental drain etc.

There are things that negate not only abilities, but entire playstyles. Dark Cloak's DoT removal being one.

Dark Cloaks removal is very strong.
I think it's always mean, if 1 simple and easily spammable ability simply negates everything

Same with crushing shock. Why do interrupts ignore CC immunity ? This is another huge issue. You cut your cookies by spamming crushing shock and Templar casters for example can go home, you basically counter an entire class with this trash.
I don't like some of the things as they are currently. That's why I am saying, there are so many class and ability changes/fixes needed, but all we get are minor bug fixes with each patch.

Dark Claok removes 4 DoTs at a high cost. Obviously this is not as bad for magic users. But with a lack of burst heals and damage shields. We need a power to give our HoTs time to matter.

I always thought, that Dark cloak totally outshines the other morph.

Depends really. Shadowy Disguise is more for offensive stealth than defensive due to it granting you a free critical hit on anyone you attack while invisible. If the hit happens to be a Surprise Attack it's gonna do some serious damage guaranteed!
