), I found this comment from @ZOS_GaryA about the difficulty getting collectibles. This was from JANUARY!!

We're currently taking a look into this and auditing all of the collectibles that are difficult and/or impossible to obtain at Veteran Rank 14. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

I was following up on a compliant about jackals being only in Alik'r, then finally added to Craglorn. Obviously, this was a known issue from way back. We get no love from ZOS

So just an update on this based on my most recent communication from CS. The person who has now taken over my ticket has said that he has sent my comments directly to the dev team, along with the forum posts about this issue. So the devs should be aware of the problems and of the many people complaining about it...

Excellent. I'd really like to thank you for your diligence on this issue. I don't know that I'd have the patience to deal with all the work involved in trying to get them to see the error of their ways. I'd be far more likely to just throw up my hands in frustration and quit.

The devs should thank you too, since it's people like you that help prevent people like me from just getting fed up and leaving.

Well, this is something that has just kind of stuck in my craw (wait, what the heck is a craw? what does that figure of speech even mean?) as something that's just blatantly not fair and disproportionately screws over some players compared to others. Specifically, this hits EP vet players much worse than anyone else. So I feel like being the squeaky wheel is the right thing for me on this topic. Even though the character I'm personally trying to get the achievements on isn't EP, I feel like it would be hypocritical of me to not bother fighting for it just because I'm not hit as badly by this change as some people.

Finally got my Fleshy Symbiont today, so only Wraith Shackle left to be complete. Could not be in this position if I were EP instead of DC. So even though I am not greatly affected by this nerf, I agree with UrQuan. This should never have happened, and in particular, it is demonstrably worse for EP players. Glad this is being sent to Devs. CS told me the same. I did take one other step, and posted in the Broken Achievements thread, because I do consider this to be broken. Maybe more post there are not needed, but then again.....

Good idea posting it in that thread - I hadn't thought of it. I generally find it difficult to be online for ESO Live (because it's during work hours for me), but I'm going to see if I can manage it for the next one, and if I can I'll bring this up there too.

Honestly though, I'm losing hope. @ZOS_GinaBruno can take the time to respond every week to the stupid 'where's the patch note' threads. Yet the only response this topic has gotten was the 'clarification' message when the change came up on PTS. Not a good sign that ZOS plans to address this.

I have been active in all the threads.

But I'm losing hope too. Any kind of response would be better than none at all. Even if they said, "Yes, we hear the complaints, but have no plans to change the system back, because we just don't care," it would be better than nothing at all. At least then I'd know for certain where we stand.

Good news from PTS patch notes. Looks like we were listened to after all:

In response to player feedback, we've drastically increased the drop rate of certain trophies that are rarely obtained from the following monsters:
Kagouti: Malformed Kagouti Tusks from Kagouti are now more plentiful. At maximum Veteran Rank, you can find Kagouti in the Rahni Pit Cage.
Netches: Bile Gilt from Netches are now more plentiful. At maximum Veteran Rank, Netches can be found in Darkshade Caverns—the Cavern Patriarch, in particular, is said to be quite bilious.
Nix-Hounds: Multifaceted Eyes are now more plentiful. At maximum Veteran Ranks, Nix Hounds can be found in Dragonstar Arenas many waves of foes, as well as in the new Maelstrom Arena. In both of these Arenas, Nix-Hounds have an even greater chance of dropping Multifaceted Eyes.
Banekin: Banekin Horns are now more plentiful from Banekin specifically in Dragonstar Arena.

Why not just add a few of every trophy dropping mob type to the open world in Craglorn?

That zone has been a ghost town for a long time now, maybe that would help to keep it better populated as well.

Agreed. The new fix is not ideal, but better than nothing. It goes a long way for EP especially, since most of the changes are EP monsters. Good luck to all still chasing these. Got my last one a few days ago......only because I was able to use alts and bank earlier.

I'm going through EP with a friend; my character is severely over-leveled and the only time he gets loot is when it's a quest item like a disguise or papers or whatever.

Hmm, interesting. I'd like it if they switched back to having them bankable, but making the difficult-to-get ones more available is good. I think the Fleshy Symbiote has already been made more available (in that I think the flesh atronachs that were bugged and couldn't drop it have been fixed). So yeah, not the fix I was hoping for, but it's definitely better.

This issue is the best reason they should make (some, if not all) achievements account wide and just allow mixing and matching.

I was doing the same thing as the OP. I had long ago leveled my original main, who is now almost sort of a crafting alt (he's retired from most adventures) and all the while I did, the trophy system was broken. When I leveled the few alts after him, the trophy system was still broken. I think using him in dungeon runs here and there when we did group stuff with friends I had managed to pick up a few trophies as the system was getting fixed. But mostly I was onto other alts when the trophy system was working finally and since they were trophies that he should have earned anyhow I passed them through the bank to that 'main' character to since I work on completing most achievements on that first guy.

So, now this fix means that I'm half way (maybe less?) through getting them all on my main and any that I earn will just go on whatever alt and can't be used to complete the achievement.

If it worked like this from the get-go, I could understand. But being that it's ZoS' fault that it didn't work as intended for months upon months upon months of playtime, it should have been "fixed" differently. They should have at the very given all characters on an account the completion on any collected trophy among any of them and just let it go from there.

At this point, they really should just fix achievements.

Some I can see being character bound, quests, skyshards, etc. But many could easily be account bound and still work. Collectibles being the main culprit.

Something should really be done here if ZoS really cares about players that have been playing from launch. If....

Can someone confirm whether the "higher drop rate" for Multifaceted Eye is the case for normal DSA as well? It took me months to convince a few guildmates to grind the nix hound stage on vDSA with me, and when we finally got there, we only managed to repeat the waves a couple times before someone accidentally killed off the boss, triggering wave 5. I still didn't get the drop.

Nobody wants to touch DSA with a ten foot pole, it seems.

Well, it's an old issue.

A healtank in the guild was willing to run with me on Normal DSA and we confirmed that the higher drop rates exist there, too. Finally got that darn drop. Now I can move on to the other grindy achievements.
