Quick Cloak + Shuffle

The new visual effects cause issues when you combine these two. Depending on which order you cast them, the Shuffle transparency effect will not be present.

Quick Cloak followed by Shuffle => no transparency visual
Shuffle followd by Quick Cloak => transparency visual

Makes it really hard to track if your buff is up (good thing us PC players have decent addons to fix that), but this will cause big problems for Console players, who are already playing blind most of the time.

Also reported issue in-game.

    Pfft. I use Rally, Defensive Stance and Shuffle. Good luck sorting out those buffs. At least Rally has the obvious heal but it's a crap shoot as to which buff will be showing on my character. They all overwrite each other though Rally seems to be the dominant one. Not having buff indicators on console is a pain.

    This is also the case with Dragon Blood and Shuffle. In Sanctum Ophidia, running these two actually causes the effects from the Magicka Bomb to not appear, since the shuffle overlaps the visual effects of it, for some reason.

    This occurs with rally(+morphs), defensive stance (+morphs), evasion (+morphs), and boundless storm (+morphs).

    Rally always shows on your weapon except wih boundless storm.
    Evasion overrides boundless storm if cast first, but some lightning effects will still show (looks cool)
    Boundless storm completely overrides evasion if cast first
    Defensive stance is always covered by evasion and boundless storm.

    as visual effects don't stack, but problem for the player remains. We can't tell if we have Shuffle up, if we first cast Quick Cloak. We CAN tell if Shuffle is up if we first cast Shuffle.

    Possible fix would be a new graphical effect if stacking those 2 visuals is indeed not possible.

    Just verified on v2.2.0 - still no solution for this problem that was introduced with the IC patch (V2.1.x).


    3 months and counting.

    Thinking you are able to track buffs/debufffs by visuals alone was a mistake by ZoS.

    This isn't like real life where you have 5 senses to rely upon. In game you have sight, some sound, no taste, no smell, no touch/feel. Sight gets saturated real fast visual effect wise. And if you are using TS sound is pretty much a write off as well.

    This is why buff timers should be an option in any game like ESO.

    It's a choice they made.. whether we like it or not is subjective ofcourse... but the fact remains that the combination I posted about was clearly visible pre-IC patch and now with the updated visuals isn't anymore.

    Well to be honest, blade cloak / quick cloak pre-IC wasn't that visible, while post-IC it has a more clear visual effect.

    Unfortunately, for PvP players (and most likely PvE players too), being able to see that Shuffle is up is much more important than knowing Blade/Quick Cloak is up (the speed boost from the spell is clearly noticeable, so only the AoE damage reduction is something you wouldn't be able to track clearly)

    Anyway going to keep track of this one, although I can live with it, since I play on PC (but was used to visually track shuffle, have since started to rely on the buff track icon)

    Their stance, visual effects don't stack, so it's not flagged as a bug for ZOS.... BUT... like I mentioned, as a customer, I feel it's something that worked fine before and suddenly doesn't work anymore, as in doesn't allow me to differentiate my buffs visually anymore... so I consider it a "problem" that appeared with that patch nevertheless.

    Don't have much faith that they'll ever do anything about it...

    Just figured I'd bring this one up again.. since it's still a problem waiting to be fixed or somehow resolved by changing skill effects... first reported 6 months ago.

    Thanks for constantly bringing this up as it is a serious problem for console players. Honestly becomes a non-issue if ZOS just adds buff timers but the immersion crowd would lose their mind even if said timers were optional.

    This is a problem on console because we dont have buff timers, but I guess that will be sorted out with TG
