Console Player names

Why do we have to come up with unique names if all anyone else sees is our PSN? Part of what I've always liked about MMO's is seeing the creativity of the names people come up with. If others can't see my name, I should be allowed to name a character whatever I want...unless it's coming in a future patch that names will be shown instead of gamer tags...

I agree, I'm on xbox one and have another issue regarding this. Since getting the game I get random messages from players trying to sell me apple watches spamming links. Though I've blocked and reported them each time I still get a couple a week. Not a problem but irritAting and wouldn't happen if my gamer Tag wasn't on show.

People have complained about this before but the fact of the matter is that aside from quest dialogue including your character name at times the game needs to use your PSN/Xbox username since it uses that instead of seperate characters for guild memberships. Beyond that you can see your current or most recently used character name both in the guild list and maybe friends list (haven't really looked into that one lol) as well as any equipment you craft.

Honestly I'd be complaining more about how dead NPCs take a priority over other players as far as targetting goes. Whenever I want to see who is in an area with me I cannot see their name because of a bunch of dead NPCs showing instead...
